All You Need to Know

Al Jazeera is funded in whole or in part by the Qatari government. [More]

That and there's no shortage of domestic useful idiots ready to do their bidding.

This commenter has found Al Jazeera to provide useful intelligence and information, which other so-called 'Mainstream' news organizations (particularly those based in the United States) censor and refuse to deliver.

If the host - or anyone - would like to suggest alternative news sources of impeccable repute, feel free to list such.

Please note that the following so-called 'news' outlets - and their associates - are pre-disqualified:
ABC, AP, The Atlantic, BBC, The Blaze, Bleacher Report, Boston Globe, Business Insider, BuzzFeed, CBS, CBN, Chicago Tribune, Christian Science Monitor, CNET, CNN, C-SPAN, CTN, Daily Beast, Boston.com, Chron, DailyMail, Dallas Morning News, Detroit Free Press, The Economist, Elite Daily, Engadget, The Examiner, Gawker, Gizmodo, The Guardian, Google, Huffington-Post, The Independent, The Intercept, FOX, Los Angeles Times, Mashable, Mirror Online, MLive, MSN, MSNBC, NBC, Newsmax, NPR, NRA, NY DailyNews, NYPost, NYT, One American News Network, The Onion, PBS, Politico, ProPublica, Reuters,, Salon, SFGate, Slate, Snopes, Stars & Stripes, TASS, TechCrunch, The Telegraph, The Times, Time-Warner, Upworthy, USA-Today, US-News, Vox, Vice, Washington Post, Washington Times, Wired, WSJ, Yahoo.

Full Disclosure: The author of this post has no fiduciary or other interest in Al Jazeera, and is not Islamic.

Strawman and non sequitur argument. Fitting name.

They all spin. They all edit. They all pick what is worthy of publication. All of them.

The technique I use is to try and balance out what I can gather from various sources to try and identify those nuggets of truth lurking in what they do tell us. Even Pravda at its worst included some truth from time to time. And in many cases, the pieces of truth Pravda wanted us to know supplied stuff our own government didn't want us to know.

Figure out who's got skin in the game.

Also, always ask yourself:

"Who are these people?"

"Why are they telling me this?"

"Why are they telling me this now?"

A rule to live by:

"The simple things you see are all complicated" Substitute by The Who

Some guy named Newton explained physics to us with three simple laws. Anybody could be an expert in Newtonian Physics. Then some guy named Einstein came along with things like matter to energy conversion and time dilation at relativistic speeds and didn't just take a bite out of Newton's apple, he dumped over his whole freaking apple cart. Just about the time people started claiming to understand Einstein, (they really didn't) along came Paul Dirac with Quantum Physics, (We should have known better when Newton couldn't explain why light was lumpy.) No sooner did people start arguing about quanta than Murray Gell-Mann comes along and dumps a load of quarks in our laps. (Nobody understands quarks.)

Another rule to live by:

"Never trust a quark. They make up everything."

So yeah, put the right kind of chemical on a cotton ball and a male beetle will happily try to breed with it until you take it away, the chemical runs out, or he dies from overexertion. People are somewhat more complicated. Many of your readers are old enough to remember seeing Bruce Jenner's picture on a Wheaties box.

But hey, "Boys have penises and girls have vaginas" is a close enough approximation of reality for a five year old.

Right, Kaitlyn?
