Youngkin at Heart

He must be one of us!
Richard Cullen to leave McGuireWoods to serve as counselor to Youngkin [More]

The same enemy inside the gates who said this?

The proposed restrictions have also received strong backing from Richard Cullen, the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, who says gunrunners consider Virginia a "handgun supermarket."

"They come into the state and go into a store and buy handguns by the dozens, with hardly a question asked," Mr. Cullen said. "Then they haul the guns north and sell them on the street for cash or drugs at profits of 300 and 400 percent. No other East Coast state has gun laws as lax as Virginia's laws -- not South Carolina, not Georgia, not Florida. Nobody. This has to stop."... "New laws aren't the answer to this problem," said S. Vance Wilkins Jr., the House minority leader who is a major opponent of restrictions on gun sales ... Mr. Cullen disagrees. "We've tried everything else," he said, "and now we've got to take extra steps."

And this?
U.S. Attorney Richard Cullen, a Republican who joined forces with Democrat Wilder to boost the idea, said passage of the bill "will have a substantial impact on gun trafficking out of Virginia."
I hate to say "I told you so."

"They come into the state and go into a store and buy handguns by the dozens" -- Violation of GCA68 #1.

"with hardly a question asked" -- No 4473 or background check? Violation of CGA68 #2

"Then they haul the guns north and sell them on the street" -- Violation of GCA68 #3

"We've tried everything else," Obviously not, or more people would be going to Leavenworth for violations #1, #2, #3 above, each of which carries a MINIMUM penalty of 5 years in Federal prison.

So someone is either incompetent, exaggerating just a tad bit, or a little of both.

To paraphrase Thomas Pynchon, if the opponent is someone you have to vote against, they don't have to worry about who they give you to vote for.
