Passing along Fake Quotes, Rumors and Hoaxes Only Helps Gun-grabbers

It’s being circulated not just by those who know it’s a hoax, but also by well-meaning gun owners who are nonetheless helping to spread two falsehoods in one post.  And the thing is, it takes less than a minute to debunk both quotes, simply by putting them into a search engine. [More]

Those with short memories and weak resolve will get back into line and those clamoring for real change will be easier to discredit as spoilers.

Painting Themselves into a Corner

Lynch: States Can't 'Insist' a Man is a Man and a Woman is a Woman, If Person Feels Otherwise [More]
This presents a very real contradiction that stands to work against biological women, supposedly the ones feminists demanded special protection for from the suffragette movement through to the very recent present.

One of the wealth redistribution tactics government uses in contracting is foregoing equal protection and giving special preferences to small, disadvantaged, minority and woman-owned businesses. If Lynch's legal opinion is followed, currently certified women business owners  are going to have to let their newly self-identified sisters into the competitive pool.

I wonder if any of them might mind.

Uh-oh. I feel another identity crisis coming on.

Are Enough Oath Takers Oath Keepers?

That goes to the crux of what Oath Keepers is about, noting the oath is to the Constitution and the applicability of the Uniform Code of Military Justice as binding law prohibiting a Nuremberg-style “I was only following orders” defense. That’s the legal basis for “Orders we will not obey.” And that, of course, is used by subversive “progressives” to label Oath Keepers “anti-government extremists” (and worse). [More]

Remember this when you see Gavin Newsom or Kevin de León or Mike Feuer or some other goddamn totalitarian demand new ways to persecute those who want to claim their rights. This is the inevitable result of Opposite Day "progressive" disarmament edicts they call "common sense gun safety laws" for the manipulation of the cud-chewers. Questionable Gun Store Bank Transactions Merit Congressional Inquiry of ATF

In a way, this is déjà vu all over again, as this is how the Fast and Furious investigation began, with Mike Vanderboegh and I pressuring both bodies to open an inquiry into seemingly outrageous claims, and urging other media outlets to investigate so that they could be independently corroborated.  As with Fast and Furious, claims presented here have been vetted with proven trusted advisors knowledgeable of the situation — and of ATF inner workings — and they agree there is much to be explained. This was brought to my attention to solicit what I thought about it, to see the potential for mutually beneficial synergy.

It seems pretty superficial. I have no use for such a place, but to each his own. My biggest concern about "enthusiasts" has always been about willingness to enjoy, but apathy when it comes around to lifting fingers.

But then there's this, from the FAQ:
NO, personal firearms are NOT allowed at Modern Round. In order to maintain the maximum amount of safety for our guests, Modern Round prohibits all personal firearms from any Modern Round location. Since Modern Round locations have replica firearms, we never want to take a chance of someone mistakenly confusing a real firearm for one of our replica firearms.
A "gun free zone" and perpetuating the deception that disarmament = safety clinches it for me. They can think of no other way to accommodate customers, other than turning them loose afterward to presumably safely drive a car? My guess is, they won't sign one of these, either:
And just who are these people? Following links around, it looks like the website registrant is the same guy listed as director by the Arizona Corporation Commission. It's admittedly not fair though, judging a guy on forum gossip, so is there anything else? All I have time for right now is this observation, backed by documentation: He is happily giving a glowing review to the same PR flacks who help the Bradys, Bloomberg's Mayors and others shape their subversive message.

The security guard went through a background check. The Columbine deputy survived because he returned fire, causing the monster to retreat in search of more reliable defenseless prey. A scripted, option-limiting scenario from anti-gun ABC is hardly definitive, especially for those of us who have had to resort to DGUs. The reason more mass shooters haven't been stopped by citizens (and don't forget Jeanne Assam and Joel Myrick) is because the ones she cited were in "gun free zones" (except for the Giffords shooting, which was over before the armed citizen could respond -- it could easily have gone down differently). Citing rates, where a few incidents in lower population areas can be percentage-wise higher than lots of incidents in more populated areas, is a common deception tactic,  as the ludicrous implication that Chi-Town is safer than Alaska demonstrates. And yes, you can too carry at NRA conventions (except in venues like the upcoming Toby Keith concert), so she's either lazy or she's lying.

What's the Big Deal?

This is my response to a Facebook comment poster about yesterday's AmmoLand article. The person pretty much dismissed the proposed SSA rule as something to worry about:

If I may:  What you describe is not the due process we extend to -- and properly require for -- criminal suspects. Plus it takes inputs from varied sources with different thresholds, and there is literally nothing to stop them from expanding those -- except for us Liberty advocates. And if you're going to stop me from buying a gun via NICS, doesn't it just make "commonsense gun safety" to use that as "justification" to confiscate what I already possess? Like they're doing in California?

Nor do you address the very real and documented "professional" biases I cited, the unAmerican default presumption of guilt instead of innocence, or placing the burden of proof on someone who may not have the wherewithal and resources to petition for redress. They've done the same thing to veterans.  This is classic "divide and conquer" by isolating groups. Now seems as good a time as any to suggest Googling "Martin Niemöller."

This may seem a minor objective to you, but it would not if you or someone you loved were the one being denied full due process. As for having bigger fish to fry, we're all capable of walking and chewing gum at the same time.  Registering your objection in Regulations.gov comments and encouraging others to do so will take about the same amount of time it took to compose and post your comment.

And then of course, there's "shall not be infringed." And anyone who can't be trusted with a gun can't be trusted without a custodian.

We do not give these usurpers one inch toward their end goal, at least I won't. We make them fight for everything and thwart them at every opportunity.  They get no "gimmes." Because every beachhead you cede to them is one less pocket of resistance they need to worry about, and allows them a foothold from which to launch their next incursion, maybe into something you do care about enough to fight.

I urge everyone here to do two things right now, exactly what I asked for in the article -- share the information with your gun owner friends and encourage them to join you in leaving a comment at: https://www.regulations.gov/#!docketDetail;D=SSA-2016-0011

At this writing, there are only a few dozen comments. Everyone here should find that unacceptable.

No Vote Of Confidence

Such confident Democrat affinity for immigration, both legal and illegal, becomes obvious when you look at the numbers, as Pew research did in a 2012 “Political Party Affiliation among Hispanics” poll. Whether you look at all, at registered voters, at native born, foreign born, unauthorized, legal permanent residents or foreign-born US citizens, that affiliation is overwhelmingly Democrat. Refuting those who would have us believe eventual assimilation will create more political homogeneity, the lop-sidedness continues as time goes on. Only 10 percent identify as Republicans after “20 years or more.” [More]
