Breaking the Logjam

If there’s anything gun control advocates and Second Amendment supporters can agree on, it’s that 10 years after the Virginia Tech shooting, most gun legislation introduced in the commonwealth goes nowhere. [More]
Give it a few years:
But an influx of new people, mainly Latinos, Asian-Americans and college-educated voters moving to the Washington, D.C., suburbs, Richmond and the eastern shore, have fundamentally reshaped the state politically over the last two decades. And in 2008, Virginia voted for a Democrat — Barack Obama — for the first time in 44 years.
Good thing for us those first two categories have nothing to do with that "single issue." Just ask Grover, NRA, SAF, practically every state "gun rights" group, and any of the popular "gunbloggers."

Chicago Homicides Demonstrate the Only Result of ‘Gun Control’ is Citizen Disarmament

When was the last time a “warm day” turned you homicidal?
Is there a connection between people abdicating increased responsibility for their lives to the state, and the enabling of bad behaviors such surrender makes inevitable? Is “freedom” without responsibility even possible? How much more “progressive” experimentation do we need to see play out in America’s cities before it becomes permissible to identify the real elephant in the room, that rampant violent crime within urban demographics is an indicator of populations most directly affected by and responsive to a continuing history of destructive control policies? On This We Can All Agree?

Liberals and conservatives alike should cheer the court’s decision. Not So Young Turk -- But the Ambition is the Same

“Do you represent the NRA?” asked Representative Gerald Connelly, a Virginia Democrat, his voice rising. “Or do you represent the American people at the ATF? Turk began to answer, but Connelly cut him off. “I represent victims from Virginia Tech,” Connelly said, referencing a 2007 mass shooting at the university. “We buried 6 young people. And I couldn’t explain to them why an ATF … representative might think that legalizing silencers might be a good idea.” [More]
And suppressors had exactly what to do with that, moron?

Aside from the fact that Connelly is a phonily self-righteous career stool sample whose idiotic subversion of 2A all but guarantees future Virginia Techs, I find two other points of interest here:
  • Turk showed up this time.
  • I can't quite figure if he's teaming up with AD Brandon to wag tails and lick the new master's hand, or if he's playing this solo, and if offering concessions is calculated to either propel him from Number Two to Number One -- or to keep him from being caught up in a purge.
