Maybe. And I advocate giving everyone the respect of treating them like a human being until such time as they demonstrate they aren't respectable. But I suspect by the time things get to where murderous thoughts are part of the equation, the point of no return has been crossed.

I'm afraid when I think of a school-sanctioned do-gooder program to identify alienated kids and then befriend them, it quickly devolves into a fantasy script for a South Park episode that blows up in everyone's faces.

Exclusive: The Children’s Crusade

From all this we see a new force emerging to take point where previous efforts to galvanize the citizen disarmament cause by an older generation of Demanding Moms have failed, a supposedly organic and spontaneous “children’s crusade” against guns (unsurprisingly bankrolled by some deep and shadowy pockets). NRA Cover for Trump Unconvincing in Light of Its Own Support for Infringements

What Cox is doing is reining Trump back in, getting him to “walk back” preemptive surrender-signaling and stick to NRA talking points. The thing is, those points bear very little relationship to “shall not be infringed,” and in fact represent “gun control” no matter how Fairfax wants to parse it and pretend otherwise. [More]

CONSERVATIVES MUST DEFEND THE SECOND AMENDMENT [More]
Thank you Captain Obvious. Still, all in all it's a pretty good statement and worthy of being shared.

My main concern is the claim at the end that "enforcing existing laws as they relate to addressing troubled individuals might have prevented the Parkland tragedy, and can likely prevent others." If such individuals are known and proven to be dangers to others after being afforded full due process, allowing them to stalk freely among us is irresponsibly dangerous.

I'm always suspicious of efforts like this because too often they've turned out to be fronts for the RNC, giving the rubes the rah-rah they want to hear and then including backstabbing RINOs in divvying up the take. If that's the case here, I don't see it.

And I also see they recognize the dangers of "amnesty," unlike the Lairds of Fairfax.

Speaking of which, I notice no one from NRA signed on to this. Why the hell not?

If I had to bet, I'd say the conclusion that "teachers who want to be trained to possess firearms in the classroom should be given the support to do so" scared Wayne and Chris away.

A 'Moderate' Illinois Republican

What is it with gun-grabbing pieces of Illinois Republican crap?

The latest to side squarely with Team Totalitarian is House Minority Leader Jim Durkin, who, like a true oath-breaker and traitor is the "Republican" driving force behind a proposed magazine ban.

Gov. Bruce Rauner is facing pressures of his own with new citizen disarmament measures including redundant state licensing of dealers and "rais[ing] the minimum age from 18 to 21 to buy an assault rifle ... a measure to ban the sale of bump stocks and other modifications and another which requires a 72-hour 'cooling off' period on assault rifle sales."

Years back Republican strategist Lee Atwater was reputed to have asked "Who else are they going to vote for?" meaning the GOP could basically do whatever they wanted and gun owners would eat whatever sh!+ they slopped in front of them. My advice (from years of observing the odious Mark Kirk) has been to reject that and teach the object lesson that betrayal will not be rewarded, but will be punished -- every time. The only way to change things is to force gunquislings out. Take the hit now so that next time the Party won't dare offer a dud. Do, it, make it known you are doing it, and let everyone know afterward that you did it. And make sure they know why. That is, if you're serious about sending the right message and getting an acceptable candidate next time around.

As we all know, no one listens to me, at least not in numbers big enough to make a difference, so we are where we are, with the "only" options being to write the governor and ask him "Please," to write Durkin and appeal to whatever motivates him, and to write to other Republican legislators and do the same.

I wouldn't waste my time writing any "safe seat"Democrats," unless the object is to give their staffers a laugh.

If you're an Illinois gun owner, I shouldn't have to give you this link. You should also know how to connect with your "representatives" via their social media accounts. Pessimistically, because of experience after experience, my guess is this guy from Ohio just did more with this post on a Sunday morning than 90% of Illinois gun owners will for the rest of the year.

Don't backtalk me on that, prove me wrong.

A Brilliant Defense!

Bam. That’s it in a nutshell — this is why founders saw fit to put in place a Second Amendment. It wasn’t a right to hunt they were defending; it was a God-given right to protect one’s self and one’s family from harm. And specifically: from harm from the government.[More]
Yeah, and why would "civilians need access to military weapons" to do that?

Brilliant!

So is The Washington Times really unaware of that, or more likely, are we being treated to Swamp apologia? It sure looks like that worked with most of the comment posters.

There Oughtta Be a Law

I just received a jury summons. I'll try to get out of it on financial hardship grounds, because if I don't produce I don't get paid. But the thought -- or rather, the memory -- strikes:

When I was living in SoCal I got assigned to jury duty in Compton once. It's real interesting, having to park your car and then run the gantlet past clusters of face-tatted young "affiliates" of feral as hell defendants, and knowing your next stop is through a metal detector, meaning you can't have anything on you...

We know police have no duty to protect us, that is, they incur no liability should they fail to do so unless a legally-defined "special relationship" exists. If we're compelled under force of state arms to be be somewhere, and if compliance puts us at heightened risk and severely curtails our defensive options, why shouldn't such a relationship be mandated by law?

I'd love to see a legislator propose a law saying if you are subpoenaed and required to go somewhere, that those doing the compelling will be required to provide protection to, during and from the dragooning and on the hook for damages if they blow it.  If nothing else, it would be fun to see all the anti-gun poltiwhores and "Only Ones" who say you can't protect yourself blow a gasket saying they're not going to do it either.

We're the Only Ones Off-Roster Enough

Many of the firearms Gourdikian is believed to have sold are classified as “off-roster,” meaning they can not be purchased by the general public in California. Police officers, however, are exempt, and while its not illegal to sell an off-roster firearm to another individual, officers can run into trouble if they’re using their exemption to flip the weapons for a profit. [More]
What?

Privileges and immunities for one group that are "crimes" for everyone else result in corruption?

Oh go on.

What of it?

And point of order...

You Can't Fire in a Crowded Theater

A North Carolina woman is jailed on multiple felony charges after she allegedly opened fire in a movie theater during a dispute over assigned seats at a screening of “Black Panther,” according to police and court records. Investigators allege that Shameka Latrice Lynch, 30, squabbled with other moviegoers around 11:45 PM Friday at a crowded AMC theater in Greenville. [More]
But...but...but...

I am glad my deeper fears have not been actualized, but I still think I'll pass, and not just on Panther...

And That, Benny, Tells Us All We Need to Know About You

I'd ask "How about a free America?" but any coward who submits to the yoke so easily would be useless at producing one.

Ditto for "Ricky," who gave it an "up" vote.

Stop Missing the Bigger Picture on @Dicks

I've gotten several solicitation emails from "gun rights groups" decrying Dick's latest noisemaking. Every one of them missed the key point: Dick's is calling on lawmakers to pass new edicts.

It's not just a matter of it being "their business decision." They are actively the enemy trying to get the government to disarm me, you, our Posterity...

From the company “media statement”:

If the object is to urge members to boycott, don't just tell half the story, and the weak half at that.

A Tale. Told by an Idiot

It's "full of sound and fury. Signifying nothing."

For now.

Flaking Out Again

The goddamn turncoat is also sponsoring the Senate version of the "bump stock" ban, which I don't have a link for yet, but the House version is being offered by oozing Republican mangina Brian Fitzpatrick from Pennsylvania.

I believe the Swamp will risk the middterms by taking the fire out of constituent bellies and blame it on those who wanted to drain it, as if the hardline agenda is what's being rejected

There May Be Some Changes 'Round Here

A couple other outlets have approached me about writing for them. I'm looking into it to see if it can work out. If so, I'll be doing a less "tip" blogging and more article writing/promotion.

We'll see.

Now THAT's a Commitment to Anti-Gun Activism!

''He was against having guns in school. He was one of the teachers organizing students here to keep teachers from having guns." [Watch]
From the very end of the clip, starting @2:06...

Maybe another anti could go on a shooting spree to show how much blood we have on our hands and why his gun should be banned.

That'll teach us.

Raising Rifle-Buying Age to 21 Would Disarm American Heroes and Spit on Founding Intent

An interesting article over at Firearms News notes Audie Murphy would have been deemed “too young” to be trusted with a rifle at the time his legendary heroics earned him recognition as the most decorated combat soldier of WWII.  It goes on to imagine a gun store clerk telling not just him, but “our young combat heroes, veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan, who may have lost limbs and fought for our freedom, that they have no Second Amendment freedom because they are not 21 years old.” [More]
Could anything be more offensive and absurd?

NRA Board Ballot

I've been asked by multiple readers if there is a name or names I endorse for this year's election.

No, unless one of them answers my questionnaire, none can make a difference, as every one of them ignores the amnesty/pathway to citizenship danger. Otherwise, they're all just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

Last year I endorsed StephenStamboulieh, but he's not on the ballot this year.

Why don't I solicit some responses? Not enough of me and not enough historic interest in such columns to push other priorities aside. This started out (and still is) for political candidates and I've made it clear over the years this is intended to be a tool for activists to use -- if they want to.

I recently did have a back-and-forth over this with one current political candidate, and he appears to have reconsidered going forward.

You find a candidate who wants to go on record and I'll link to his specifics -- or lack thereof.

Taking a Powder

Actually, taking a break -- a quick one, from writing my latest GUNS Magazine "Rights Watch" column (deadline today, so I'm hustling) -- to make one quick observation:

The lunatic who sent white powder to Donald Trump. Jr...?

Check out his Facebook page while it's still up -- he's a big fan of the Young Anti-Gun Communist League. Not really much of a surprise.

I guess when you know you can't be trusted with corn starch, realizing others may actually be able to exercise responsibility as adult human beings and not need to be controlled is probably pretty enraging.

On the plus side, his to-date empty dance card ought to be filling right up.

OK, back to work...

And still won't be ready for tips, probably 'til Monday.

DSM Shares Preference for Chinese Communist Propaganda over Bill of Rights

We could do this all day, but let’s stipulate that even knowing how the government and the “news” puppets it controls censor out information embarrassing to the regime, your chances of getting shot on the South Side of Chicago are greater than meeting a similar fate in Beijing. That said, if you’re more interested in your chances of getting crushed to death by government tanks or mowed down by machineguns, or bayoneted as you beg for your life with your body then burned and your blood hosed down the drain, then have Yu Ning’s masters got some human rights examples for you! [More]
Who better to template “progressive” U.S. efforts on than proven experts in both centralized “human rights” and the benefits of an unarmed citizenry?
