System Working as Intended

Of the 345,547 ammunition background checks performed, only 101 stopped the buyer because he or she was a “prohibited person” who can’t legally possess ammunition, according to state Department of Justice data. Yet another 62,000 ammunition purchases were rejected as well. Those people left empty-handed because their personal information hadn’t been entered into the state’s system, or the information on their identification cards didn’t match what officials had entered into the California gun registry database, which retail sellers must review when they do the ammunition background check. Pensacola Murders Tell Us Much about Background Checks and More

It’s curious that while “universal background checks” are one of the key demands of the Democrat-dominated citizen disarmament lobby, they reverse themselves when it comes to letting foreign nationals of unknown ideologies into this country, particularly when it comes to illegals. Instead, they demand open borders, amnesty and admitting and embedding “refugees” in communities throughout the Republic, most for whom no checks are possible because such records either don’t exist or are unobtainable. The Supreme Court majority should resist the temptation to expand the Second Amendment [More]
First of all, they're not expanding it.

And if Weiner-guy's point is bolstered on Bork being the benchmark for originalists, well, that's all I need to hear.

And Another...

“After all of the previews and ads were over and the movie was just starting, two thugs sporting hoodies, masks, sunglasses and carrying huge duffel bags ran, not walked, up the aisle and sat at the back of the theater right behind us. They looked like bank robbers, home invasion criminals… they were trying to act scary,” a moviegoer named Vanessa, who asked for her last name not be used, told Fox News. [More]

Being La Habra, ordinary citizens don't get to carry, just in case they need to.

But no identities on the suspects yet? Really?

A Jersey City police officer was injured when at least one gunman opened fire in a cemetery and then fled into a bodega, where he continued firing at officers and possibly others Tuesday afternoon. [More]
Should I infer anything from that word?

In re Giffords grading, the trick they pull is to use rates rather than numbers-- that way, a couple of deaths in a low population state like <600K Wyoming (mostly happening in higher-density urban Democrat districts) will reflect a higher rate than many deaths in a high population state like <9M New Jersey.

So according to them, New Jersey is second "best" and Wyoming is second "worst." Anyone care to compare the actual number of homicides, and see which state has two cities on the "murder capital" list?

UPDATE: Multiple killed...

Still no word on the suspects, which you'd think they'd want to get out there for public safety reasons, assuming no other factors make them want to play things close to the vest until they figure out the considered way to say things...

I note the moratorium idea emanates from North Carolina, and some gun rights advocates there are so focused on gerrymandering they're making the same fatal error organized Virginia activists did. They're and not even mentioning the actual greatest threat, probably for fear of being tarred as haters.

That is not a winning longterm strategy. They can and should throw back a challenge for which any rebuttal must resort to changing the subject and avoiding a direct response.

Because here is what they are faced with (and this hardly comes from a "rightwing" source):

"According to Dr. Johnson, the Hispanic population grew by 1,114 percent from 1990-2016..."

Said another way, "According to Dr. Johnson, a 70% anti-gun Democrat population grew by 1,114 percent from 1990-2016..."

That they did not find something is not the same as proving it does not exist.

Horowitz -- you gotta understand who the guy is and where he's coming from.

You gotta understand he pulled the same crap on his "Gunwalker" report:
Case in point, Chapter One of the report identifies key individuals who declined to be interviewed ... Simlarly of significance, and hardly surprising to those following this story, the report notes “The White House did not produce to us any internal White House communications, noting that “’the White House is beyond the purview of the Inspector General’s Office, which has jurisdiction over Department of Justice programs and personnel.’”
The result?
That has not stopped the search term “clears Holder” from already becoming the meme du jour on the “Authorized Journalist” Google News feed, meaning it will soon become “common knowledge’ among those who are not long-term and in-depth observers.
It's all a continuing con job that most are oblivious to. Of the remainder, most will excuse and even champion it, and of the ones who don't, most will do nothing about it.

VA Dems Calling Second Amendment Sanctuaries Civil War Flashpoints

Just to be clear—rather than face up to the truth of who is doing the killings in his district, Jones is blaming the “disproportionate harm” committed by his Norfolk constituents on residents of counties like Tazewell, where the Board of Supervisors not only overwhelmingly passed a sanctuary resolution, but went a step further and passed a Militia resolution, both to overwhelming citizen approval.
