We're the Only Ones Docked Enough

Two Ridge Meadows RCMP officers have been docked 10 days' pay for getting drunk and riding around assaulting innocent people and falsely identifying themselves as "PoCo (Port Coquitlam) police."

So the disciplinary board admits they are "disgraceful," as well as being "serial abusers," but they're going to avoid criminal charges? Even for drunken driving ?

Well, sure. After all, they are "The Only Ones".

How nice to know "both men had excellent work histories." We all know thugs just happen overnight, totally out of character with past behavior, don't we?

Another Benefit of Gun Free Schools

They say the attackers will kill everyone they see – students, teachers and parents alike – as they move in to seize the school. They will plant bombs throughout buildings, while raping and murdering and throwing out bodies as they did in Beslan.

The pair of trainers say the most effective deterrent to such attacks is to ensure there is an armed presence within every school. They recommend armed security as well as encouraging teachers and administrators to carry firearms.

Well, that last part will be difficult, because Wayne says "No."

And I'd hate to have anyone lump me in with tinfoil hatters, because as any long-time WoG visitor will tell you, I take pains to craft my opinions to earn majority approval and not get anybody mad at me, but just imagine if this scenario does happen.

Now imagine the terrorists use "assault weapons."

And if they got them from gun shows!

Hmmm.

And Hmmm.

What do you think the reaction from government, the antis and the media would be? And does the word "convenient" dare to spring up?

Almost two weeks ago, when I was commenting on Form 4473 and the racial profiling it employed as a prior restraint to obtaining a firearm, I asked:

But really--how, in post-9/11 America--can BATFU possibly justify documenting gun purchases by Pacific Islanders, but not by people of Arab descent? And is this just more stupid, or is it intentional?

Yesterday, when posting the latest developments at Red's Trading Post, I followed the link Ryan Horsley had provided to file a complaint with the DOJ Office of Inspector General about waste and abuse. On that same page is a button to "Report Violations of Civil Rights or Civil Liberties."

So I clicked on it, and it took me to a page explaining the procedure to file a complaint. And at the bottom of that page is a link to the OIG Civil Rights Poster.


Not that I want to single any group out, but I do find this rather singular emphasis to the exclusion of all else a bit perplexing...

DC Admitting 2A an Individual Right?

The strategic implications of DC's decision are enormous. It appears that DC has decided that its long-gun self-defense ban is constitutionally indefensible. The most logical inference is that DC (despite statements by the Mayor at press conferences) has concluded that it cannot convince the Supreme Court that the Second Amendment is not an individual right. DC is retreating to position that the individual Second Amendment right is not violated by a handgun ban, as long as individuals can possess other guns.

The implications are enormous.

So unless it was neglect and stupid lawyering, which seems unlikely, it means that despite their public posturing, DC's rulers know damn well what the Second Amendment is about. That they would proceed knowing they are in the wrong is revealing as to what evil and demented souls they, and those like them, are.

We're the Only Ones Process Monitoring Enough

More and more, local officials are turning to the police to handle problems rather than working to resolve the problems themselves. These moves appear based on the notion that quality of life can best or most easily be enhanced at the point of a gun. Police forces in our country were never intended to serve as society's enforcers of "quality of life."

This is a good article by Bob Barr that introduces a new way of looking at increased government intervention in our lives, that is, as "quality control," or more accurately, "Total Quality Management." With the totalitarian process standards, of course, being defined by "upper management"...

Hey, don't think of us as "Only Ones," think of us as a cross-functional corrective action team!

Shamans Blame Evil Totems

Suggesting that she might consider joining a ground-breaking lawsuit to stem the flow of illegal weapons, Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon met yesterday with New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg - the architect of that litigation - to talk about ways both cities can improve education and fight crime...

Her meetings here also took place after Baltimore's deadliest weekend of the year, in which six people were killed - including three who were shot on the street in broad daylight.

"All of these incidents that are happening - all of these victims that are being killed - are from illegal guns," Dixon said as she stood outside New York's City Hall.

It's like watching witch doctors preparing to sacrifice a goat.

I do wish the NRA spokesman would stop ceding the term "gun crimes" when he gets a chance for some media coverage.

I strongly support the Second Amendment of the Constitution, which protects an individual’s right to keep and bear arms. Gun control is touted as a major crime-control measure. But some of the places with the strictest gun-control laws also have high violent-crime rates. Disarming law-abiding citizens does not prevent crime. The answer to violent crime is smart, effective, and aggressive law enforcement. The real effect of these gun-control measures is to place onerous restrictions on law-abiding citizens who use firearms for such legal activities as self-defense, sport-shooting, hunting, and collecting. I am committed to:

Strictly enforcing existing laws and severely punishing violent criminals.

Protecting the rights individual Americans enjoy under the Second Amendment.

The next day, the Chandlers found out Will had also been charged with a felony.

I just sent the following email to the Superintendent of Cobb County Schools:

What in the world is wrong with Cobb Schools that they would destroy a young man's life over this?

Whoever possesses such rigid lack of judgment and discretion that the rules supplant the reason for the rules--educating young people--ought to be ashamed of themselves.

This is like a bad reenactment of "Les Miserables."

Stop this evil foolishness at once and get real. Good grief.

Microstamping Not Ready for Prime Time

"It gets a lot of attention because it has the word 'guns' written on it," said Fred Tulleners, director of forensics at the University of California, Davis, where a graduate student conducted a small-scale test of microstamping this year. "But it's not really ready to implement in prime time."

But that won't stop anti-freedom politicians from imposing it on those they rule. Anybody who wonders why they would do that hasn't been paying attention.

We're the Additional Ones the Left Wants to Disarm Enough

"These were highly trained police officers," Soneson said during an open forum on campus last month. "The UNI campus security guards have asked to carry guns for years now. ... Guns are unsafe."

Even highly trained police officers make mistakes, and no amount of training will keep this from happening," Soneson said.

Yep, guns are unsafe. You can take that straight from the experts, an associate professor of religion and philosophy, a professor in social work who's a Quaker from Norway, and the head of a socialist foundation.

Cool. Campus Commies for Gun Control. What an unexpected shock.

Here's an argument we will see more of--Paul Helmke has already released the talking points, and they go something like: If we can't even trust highly-trained "Only Ones" with guns, how can we possibly trust mere mortals? As his case in point, Helmke even has the gall to reference the Godfather of the Only Ones, Lee Paige.

Here's something else that will start gradually working its way into the public consciousness through time-released manipulation and propaganda--so far, the antis have been cautious not to tip their hand on this, but the day will come when the police will be required to check weapons in and out of lockers, and when not on duty will be required to trust their safety to the system, just like everybody else.

In other words, guys, keep on doing what you're doing. Eventually it will be your turn in the barrel.

We're the Only Ones Saving a Room Full of People Enough

And that could conceivably have been the case had the Brunswick Police Department not held its gun buy-back program in conjunction with the Anguilla Freedom Project at Howard Coffin Park in Brunswick Saturday.

Hyperbole, anyone?

But "authorized journalist" Cody Trawick isn't finished! He tells us about "killing machine[s]," and a "sinister appearance" and how "It doesn't take too much work to make a weapon like this fully automatic," not to mention filling even the stoutest of hearts with dread over "completely fresh, hollow-point rounds," or the horrible, narrowly-averted fact that "There's no telling where they would have ended up if they hadn't been willing to sell them to us."

And we can have confidence Cody (and his police informant) knows what he's (she's?) talking about, because of the reference to the "75-round clip," plus the creative way he spelled "Reuger."

And all this in the name of "Freedom," Only Ones-style. Great job there, Cody. Nothing like reporting straight news, although next time, you might want to bring your pom pons.

Darwin...Paging Mr. Darwin...

On September 17, 1787, the delegates to the Constitutional Convention met for the last time to sign the document they had created. The National Archives and Records Administration celebrates this important day in our nation's history by presenting the following activities, lesson plans, and information. We encourage teachers and students at all levels to learn more about our Constitution and government.

Yeah, that would be nice, particularly since many of the history books being foisted on unsuspecting students/future voters "teach" them all about states' rights to form militias.
