The registry doesn't work as a crime fighting tool because it was never supposed to: the controllers know it's just a matter of probability before a listed gun is used in a criminal act, which they can then leverage into a blood dance opportunity. The hidden end is, the biggest proponents of maintaining and expanding the registry are the ones who ultimately want it to disappear completely--just as soon as there are no private--I mean, "legally owned" guns to register.

That they felt they needed to qualify their presentation shows they know exactly what they're doing. They should have and could have posted all the candidates without qualifiers. It's obvious they just don't want their viewers to see the name "Ron Paul," so they are intentionally suppressing it. And by letting everyone who might notice know he's not "leading," why, there's a bit of discouragement tainting as well.

A federal judge said Friday that Mayor Michael Bloomberg's administration did not commit a crime when it sent undercover investigators into gun shops to attempt illegal weapons purchases as it prepared to sue the dealers.Then if no "straw purchases" were made, that must mean the dealers did not commit any crimes in selling the guns.

Bill Bunting spoke personally with Senator John McCain, Governor Mitt Romney, and Governor Mike Huckabee over the weekend. As most of you know, Bill is chairman of the Republican Party of Pasco.
Senator McCain will sign on to a national right-to-carry bill if Congress brings it to his desk. As far as he is concerned, the gun show loophole is a moot point, and he will appoint judges who follow the Constitution.
Lou Oliver, Chairman of the Republican Party of Orange County, said Governor Huckabee would make a great vice president. I recently appeared on the Kathy Fountain Show (Fox News Network) in a half hour live show on presidential politics with Bill in Tampa with live call-ins. Bill is our strongest supporter when it comes to the Second Amendment whether at a gun show, on television, or in the newspapers.

John McCain has a long history of working against both the Second and First Amendments, against conservative values and against our sovereignty and border security. I wouldn't vote for McCain, Romney, Giuliani or Huckabee if Satan himself were the Democratic nominee.
When Senators take their oath of office, they don't swear to keep us safe, they don't swear to work for this lobby or that special interest. They swear before God and man to preserve, protect and defend the CONSTITUTION! John McCain has demonstrated that he sees the Bill or Rights as a list of helpful suggestions, and nothing more. The Bible says that those who cannot be faithful in small things will not be faithful in large things. If we couldn't trust John McCain to uphold his oath as a Senator, we can't trust him to do it as a President.
There IS a committed pro-gun candidate in the race- you know damned well who I'm talking about. It's amazing to me that you and your ilk will make excuses for a faithless opportunist and chameleon like McCain and won't even consider supporting the statesman who is gun owners' best friend, the taxpayers' best friend, the Bill of Rights' best friend on Capitol Hill, bar NONE. In light of your craven endorsement of this notorious enemy of the Bill of Rights, I will never set foot in one of your shows again, and I am going to contact the area gun dealers who rent tables at your shows to inform them that as long as they do business with you, they will do without my business as well. (a) All handgun and assault weapon ammunition manufactured or sold in thestate after January 1, 2009, shall be coded by the manufacturer.
(b) No later than January 1, 2011, all non-coded ammunition for the calibers
listed in this act, whether owned by private citizens or retail outlets, shall be disposed.
Tyrant wannabes in the Tennessee legislature are going for an ammo grab, in this case, Memphis Mandarins Reginald Tate and Larry Miller.

They want to require etching "identifiers" on "the base of the bullet projectile"--and note it says "all," so .22 ammo sold in blocks is evidently not exempt. Then note requirements for a manufacturer's registry, a vendor's registry, mandates for investigations by the TBI, and staffing and maintaining a database--nothing that will stop one violent criminal from using noncompliant ammunition in a stolen firearm...
Can you imagine a more foolish squandering of financial resources at a time when Tennesseans are struggling to keep their jobs and their houses, or law enforcement resources when they can't prevent crime already without sidelining personnel on this nonsense?
Oh but that's OK, because there's "No fiscal note for the bill!"
That's because the overlords envision an "end user fee":
SECTION 7.
(a) The cost of establishing and maintaining the ACSD shall be funded by an end-user fee. Vendors shall charge an additional one half cent ($.005) per bullet or round of ammunition to the purchaser.
(b) There is established the coded ammunition fund for deposit of the end-user fees described in this section. Moneys in the fund, upon appropriation, shall be available to the TBI for infrastructure, implementation, operational, enforcement, and future development costs of this act.
And, of course, if half a cent is good, why in a few years, a whole cent will be even better! Besides, costs are going up and gun owners are outnumbered and generally despised by our urban constituencies--why not go for even more?
I wonder how many ammunition makers are going to just pull up stakes? And the "All" caveat seems to rule out handloading, or at least I don't see an exemption that states for certain at what threshold of production a self-producer becomes a "manufacturer"...
I also don't see any provisions for out-of-state "sportsmen" bringing tourist dollars in to hunt and shoot. I suppose setting up traps for them can also be a good source of revenue...
Question for all you "law abiding" Tennessee gun owners, the only people this bill will affect (that is, the ones not responsible for the problems): When they order you to surrender your non compliant ammo a little under three years from now, are you going to give it to them?
I don't know the chances this abomination has of passing--but I do know Tennessee is the state that inflicted Al Gore on the rest of us, and the urban representation seems just as unabashedly Marxist as anywhere else. Were I a Tennessean, I'd be on the horn to my representative at opening of business tomorrow morning, and I'd follow that up with a letter and an email.
