While it was the right thing to do, the council's vote will not solve the growing gun menace that Sacramento faces. Similar measures enacted in other cities, including Los Angeles, San Francisco and Oakland, have not reduced gun crimes.

So because it doesn't work, we need to expand it and do it everywhere...particularly in those places with high gun ownership and low violent crime rates.

Yep, look for blame. Just make sure you look in the right direction, and at the right people.
