White guilt will definitely work in his favor. That's sad.
I would have voted for black conservative J.C. Watts. I would vote for black libertarian Alan Keyes or black libertarian Walter Williams or a constitutionalist of any race, but I will not vote for a socialist if he were my twin brother.
I'm sure there were white Zimbabweans who voted for Mugabe in the interest of reaching across the racial divide. They're living in cardboard boxes and tin shanties now.

For context, I'm a college-educated Southern male Caucasian with a little American Indian heritage.
He better hope the focus is on his race. Because almost nobody gives a damn about his race.
But we sure as Hell care about his treachery.
