Who's Militarizin'?

The Italian government has defended its decision to use soldiers to patrol cities in an effort to curb crime, rejecting criticism that it will "militarise" the streets.
Yeah, why would anyone think that?

For some reason I'm reminded of Captain Kirk's exchange with gangster boss Jojo Krako in the Star Trek episode "A Piece of the Action":
Krako: Thought you guys had laws, no interference.
Kirk: Who's interferin'? We're takin' over.

Its for our good!

When its just a little militarization of the streets at a time, people don't complain.

Taking our guns away, one person, one FFL, one Manufactuer at a time.

I guess the partisans need to apologize to Mussolini now.
Isn't Italy one of those nations where you are allowed to buy a half-box of registered pistol ammunition per year?
