The case caused an uproar last summer, when the Metropolitan Crime Commission released photographs that showed the destroyed inside of Lewis' K-9 vehicle. The car seats had been torn to shreds by Lewis' dog, Primo, who was left in the vehicle in late May, presumably becoming more distressed as the temperature inside the vehicle rose. [More]Again...?
Maybe I ought to make this a monthly feature...

I either read it or heard someone say it on the radio or TV, but cops are hired based on where there IQ is not too high yet not too low either. If that is true then, I wonder where the upper limit is?
He's probably in more trouble because it was a dog and not a slave-citizen.
I'm not surprised it was a Malinois, in fact, that was what I expected before I read the article.
In my job, I have to attend a dog safety course annually. It's always given by the same woman who runs a company that teaches people about dog behavior. She said that many police departments are using Malinois' and it's a mistake because they are so hyper. If they get left in a car alone the cops usually return to find the inside ripped to shreds and the dog stuck in the engine or something.
She also said that she now refuses to give seminars to any police departments, because they are all idiots and nothing she can say will convince them that they are handling their dogs incorrectly.
