Protecting the Environment

University president Michael Young wrote in a memo that “having weapons in plain sight on this campus creates a fearful and intimidating campus environment.” [More]
I dunno, Mike, if we're talking environmental issues here, have you seen how long it takes these things to degrade in a landfill?

Assuming you ever change yours...?

Is there anything we should do to support the two security guards who were put on administrative leave after exposing the universities attempts to infringe on rights?

[E.G.]
Seizing Weapon- Weapons may be seized:

1) When necessary to protect public safety

2) Persons carrying a weapon openly or concealed on campus with no concealed weapon permit

3) As evidence of the crime if no other means of documentation are available.

This, however, is not a fearful and intimidating environment.

I thought there were LAWS to protect whistleblowers on government abuse.

And what the HELL is going on in Utah anyway? Is it an invasion of Californians bringing their mental plague with them?

Good scary comments on this article too. Drugs are AN EPIDEMIC (just like guns, of course), therefore people **suspected** of using and selling drugs SHOULD be shot in their pajamas at 3 a.m. if they "lift a finger" or golf club against sudden screaming doorbusters in their disoriented sleep-stupor. That kind of thing.

Just posted this comment to the article. Let's see if it make it through the initial censorship err... scrutiny:

"President Young might gainfully consider whether "having weapons in plain sight on this campus" provides a more or less intimidating atmosphere than the sight of 32 dead bodies of students unable to defend themselves against an armed lunatic due to restrictive policies put in place by naive (and, I gather, lawbreaking) administrators."
