The individual was talking on a cell phone at the time of the incident. It's likely that is the object the passerby identified as a gun. [More]Yeah, that's the kind of country I want to live in!

Why would the individual be taken into custody, if no weapon was found, and no crime had been committed? It took less than 20 minutes? OK!
Because he was "acting erratically"?
Maybe his girlfriend just told him she has VD. Maybe someone died. Maybe he's been fired over the phone.
I'm surprised he didn't get Tasered.
I don't talk personal business on my cell phone or use it much at all, and this makes me even more glad I don't.
Remember, any gun not on a policeman COULD be an ILLEGAL gun. And any cell phone, wallet or candy bar COULD be a gun. We all need to be VERY AFRAID, now. It doesn't work if you're not afraid.
Twenty minutes is pretty good. If there HAD been an active shooter, it would have been two hours.
This story exemplifies the reason I wouldn't open carry even if I could. Too many sheeple stampeding and bleating makes it difficult to concentrate on my ammo purchases.
"Lockdown" at a private business?
"KPD responded to control the scene and ordered a lockdown of the store both to keep shoppers in and prevent the individual from entering the store.
Assuming a prospective customer abandoned any merchandise before attempting to leave, how would this not be false imprisonment - at a minimum?
I'm shocked and surprised the police didn't fill him full of lead, and a few bystanders as well."Locking down" the Wal-Mart was a great idea too, in case there was a mad man roving the lot. After he got inside the building, he would have lots of govt. provided victims, all kept there just for him.
Geez. I'm known to walk round Meijers and Walmart with my gun on my hip. Then again on the far east side, the ratio of gunowners is significantly high. Security looks the other way beacause it would take too much time to disarm us lol. What crap.
On the snitching front, REPUBLICANS have a bill to require your Internet provider to know what you're doing.
