Jeez, guy, do they have to come right out and tell you they're trying to incriminate you if they can? Unless you have more expertise than this guy, what are you doing inviting vampires to cross your threshold?
And why not ID your persecutors? The blowback to you will certainly be personal and with no regard to protecting your identity, and sometimes, shining light and banging pots are your best defenses for making them back off.
