Official Talking Points

Getting the word out and making sure everyone is on the same page...

The Washington Post, USA Today, and virtually every legacy outlet ran the same spin. The DSM is focusing on the analogy because they've got nothing else and because average citizenship malpractitioners -- the same ones who answer polls saying they're "for" the "commonsense gun safety law" du jour -- won't grok that the feigned outrage is central to the con.

Same thing I said over at Herschel's place. Judge Benitez's "Swiss Army Knife" comparison is literally the first sentence in his ruling.

That the Left has glommed so hard on that line and fails to discuss - let alone rebut - the rest, while declaring the whole ruling lacks factual basis, demonstrates exactly one thing: They haven't read past that introduction.

The rest of the ruling is extremely thorough, incorporating facts, statistical findings, academic research, and solid Constitutional analysis. Judge Benitez explains exactly why he's ruling against CA's AWB - and it has almost nothing to do with an actual Swiss Army Knife.

But in the spirit of "Never interrupt your enemy when he's making a mistake," I'm all for letting them continue to self-identify as ignoramuses.

The irony is that England has already proven that shortly after they come for the AR-15s, they will come after the Swiss Army Knives too. This makes it an even more accurate analogy.
