With One Important Difference

And just as President Biden addressed his son’s death from cancer by championing the Beau Biden Cancer Moonshot, we have worked to spare other families our tremendous pain through action, and believe a similar governmental full-court press, with unrelenting momentum, is needed to stop the escalating toll of lives guns cause. [More]

If by "just as" you mean your ideas are "archaic" and "outmoded," then, yeah. And you'll note people are still dying. And it's not hard to find "dissidents" with evidence that important truths are being deliberately ignored by those with special interests. And funny, the same guy is now "leading" the COVID clusterf***...

But I don't recall the Cancer Moonshot dispatching armed teams to anyone's house to confiscate their guns or kill anyone resisting. And if you want to see an "escalating toll of lives"...

It's human nature to feel for parents who have lost a child. That does not give them the right to make coercive demands on everyone else that leave no choice but to obey or suffer life-destroying consequences. If someone is attacking me and mine, their motives are secondary and any sympathy must take a back seat to stopping the aggressor.

"the escalating toll of lives guns cause."

That's the fundamental error in logic that causes the rift between us.

Guns are inanimate objects made of metal and sometimes some plastic. In and of themselves they cannot cause anything.

They cannot, in and of themselves, be evil or good.

What is evil is the continued antisocial behavior, focused primarily in the urban core of America's "bluest" cities combined with the steadfast denial by some Americans on just what the cause of that antisocial behavior is.

But my guns are not the cause.

And they will not be forfeit due to the actions of others.
