Thank you, David! Amazingly, various "gun rights" people and organizations objected to my opposition to the proposed federal act.

England once shared the "duty to be armed" with their North American colonists. In fact, one could make a good case that attempts by the king's men to curtail rights considered part of being an Englishmen as one of the factors that aggravated if not started the breach.

That all ended in 1920.
