But in the meantime, the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence fired off the best line of all, noting archly that each year about 30,000 Americans are already securely locked away in human-size boxes, thanks to guns. [More]

Oh, yeah. Ha ha. Good one, Brady and LA Times. Now fire off one about the victims of human disarmament who don't get boxes. They just get shoved into shallow mass graves, thanks to that monopoly of force you degenerates so wish for other men to enforce on your behalf.

Yes, I Know

My Christmas post is not directing to the right Examiner page. So far, I've seen it route people to the Easy Meals Examiner, the Baltimore Sports Examiner and the San Francisco Christian Examiner. I keep republishing it to make it link to the Gun Rights Examiner "Have a Merry Christmas!" post and get it to work for a while before screwing up again.

It looks like the right url, but the wrong page is displayed. Tech support is working on it.

About that INTERPOL EO...

A couple of you have asked me about a new Executive Order where Obama is amending a prior EO for INTERPOL. They're discussing it over at Georgia Packing, among other places. I've been asked for my thoughts, so here's my response:

Well, first off I went to the WH site and confirmed it was real.

I'd need somebody who knows how to navigate that stuff explain it to me. It looks like the quoted language in his new EO does not exactly match what is in the '83 EO. And I don't see those subsections repro'd in the USC quote--which would mean somebody--not me--full plate and all--is going to need to analyze the original...

This ain't the kind of stuff that's my niche--it makes my head hurt and I'm just as clueless as the next guy. if I had to guess, it looks like Reagan took away some immunities for the dang furriners and Obama's restoring them. But you really need someone who is credible with diplomatic law, and I hardly qualify.

If anyone who knows how to wade through this stuff without developing an overpowering urge to slam your forehead into cinderblocks, please educate the rest of us--using very small words.

A gun rights group says a citizens initiative to reform legislative ethics would require lawmakers to disclose whether they own guns. [More]

On the surface it sounds kind of like a satisfying poke back, but if you can gore one group's ox using the force of the state, yours is next.

I really don't know anything about this effort, so I'm hoping they're promoting this just to make that point. Somehow, I think they're serious. Is it just me, or do Utahns for Ethical Government make the actual text of the petition so damn hard to find on their website that we just stop trying? I see how to sign, where to sign, FAQ's, setting the record straight...where's the great big impossible-to-miss headline link or click-though graphic that says "READ THE PETITION HERE"?
