It used to be a given on the street: Get caught with an illegal gun, go to jail.

But what if you're not "a thug"--and who the hell are "Only Ones" to be tossing that term around anyway? What if you're a human being who knows you have an unalienable right to keep and bear arms, that no one has true moral authority to grant or withhold "permission," and that the entire concept of "gun restrictions" against anyone able to move freely through society--that is, anyone not confined to a controlled custodial situation because they have been adjudicated a danger to others--is a fraudulent assault on Liberty...?

I guess it all depends on how you look at things.

Some--the "enforce existing gun laws" crowd--see a promise.

Others of us see a threat, realizing that's exactly what the government was doing at Ruby Ridge and Waco.

There is a contingent among politically-oriented gun owners who are overtly hostile to the open carry normalizing movement, cautioning that exercising their right to do so will be the cause of the government cracking down with more restrictions. Some of the ugly stuff I have read them post over the recent attempt in California convinces me they hate principled gun owners more than they do outright antis.

Arbitrary Denial

There are three federal lawsuits pending in Connecticut that challenge the way the state enforces gun laws. In one, Goldberg is suing Glastonbury over his arrest three years ago, claiming he was charged even though there is no state law against openly carrying a sidearm.

In the other two, Goldberg and M. Peter Kuck, a member of the state Board of Firearms Permit Examiners, argue separately that arbitrary enforcement of state gun laws by biased police officers has denied or delayed the issuance of handgun permits, resulting in a denial of due process rights to gun owners. UPDATE: Late breaking news (today) Goldberg v. Glastonbury will go to 2^nd circuit due to an unfavorable in District court.
