Sendero Luminoso

"This is where I differ with everybody on the Republican side. Make no mistake, not a single Republican ... is clearly and consistently supporting a path to citizenship. Not one"... [More]
Bull. Just because they couch their equivocation in weasel words doesn't mean the majority of them, from Bush, to Rubio, to Walker, to Paul haven't outlined intentions to get us to the same place via a more circuitous route.

And the "single issue" apologists are helping make it possible.

The Mystery Machine

Ruh roh. Looks like the backers have an agenda they're willing to invest in to advance a longer-term goal. [More]

Can't We All Get Along?

No, "we" can't, although some, with an unknown agenda, will tell you otherwise.

A comment was left under my last GRE by one "Kreggied" professing tolerance for all, with particular respect for the "courage" and "integrity" of gunkapos. Left unsaid is how much understanding and respect will be offered to those who defy the infringements the turncoats enabled.

It's a special kind of trolling, professing reasonableness and inclusion while enabling betrayal.

If I were an FFL or a range owner and Kemp came into my place, I'd tell him to get the hell out. If I were a Roseville gun owner, I'd go anyplace but Deaser's Capital Gun Club -- not that I expect current members to do anything but place convenience over larger principle -- or for that matter, for any of these companies to do the right thing.

The unintended consequence of this is more edicts are passed where the old paradigm fails, establishing conditions for the new paradigm to take root and grow.

It's Never Enough

Almost simultaneously with the Everytown release, the anti-gun Washington Alliance for Gun Responsibility (WAGR) essentially revealed its next target, a safe storage law. [More]
They always want more. They always will, until they get it all.  And then they'll turn their attention to what that enables them to do.

Brought to you in large part by gunkapos like Kemp and Deaser.

Gun owners for ‘gun control’ useful to anti-gunners for now

Two things are certain: Violent criminals, who are protected by law from gun registration requirements, won’t be slowed down one bit by what Kemp and Deaser are endorsing. And the enemies of gun rights, who are more than happy to accept their aid and comfort, will be using whatever turf is ceded to launch their next assault. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner report notes a pair of -- I can't decide if they're just useful idiots or something more insidious. Either way, why would  any RKBA advocate have anything to do with either one of them?

What Pedro Knows

Pedro Morillas is the name appearing at the bottom of an Everytown email linking to this page.

Of course Pedro and the Bloombergians know NRA hardly endorses "guns for anyone, anywhere -- no questions asked." They know NRA has been taken to task many times by hard core gun rights advocates for compromises and deviations from "shall not be infringed."  Lying doesn't bother them because they know they can get away with it -- the useful idiots they are exploiting will neither know better nor care if they did.

Here's something else Pedro knows, something that appears to have "eluded" NRA and SAF/CCRKBA and every other gun organization with the exception of GOA --how "amnesty" and a "pathway to citizenship" will enable "progressives" to establish unchallengeable electoral majorities, to include "gun control" legislation and sympathetic court confirmations:
Pedro and Everytown and the "progressive" Obamanoids are neither fooled nor slowed down for a minute by the phony "single issue" excuse used by the establishment gun groups for avoiding engaging on the most important threat affecting the continued legislative and judicial disposition toward the right to keep and bear arms. They know the issues are inseparable, and are designed to achieve a single goal. As a matter of fact, they're counting on the "gun lobby" continuing to suck up to the Republican establishment, and especially pleased when they see how many bloviating ignoramus gun owners defend the fraudulent separation.

Forget "single issue." Think "single goal."

Not that I think anyone besides a few of us marginalized malcontents will, and even fewer will do anything about. Pedro knows he can count on  abdication, denial and apathy.  And based on results, I don't disagree with him.

Non-violence is a type of political performance designed to raise awareness and win over sympathy of those with privilege. When those on the outside of struggle—the white, the wealthy, the straight, the able-bodied, the masculine—have demonstrated repeatedly that they do not care, are not invested, are not going to step in the line of fire to defend the oppressed, this is a futile political strategy. It not only fails to meet the needs of the community, but actually puts oppressed people in further danger of violence. [More]
