Triple Threat

If only you and I didn't have guns, which we all know  are what's really to blame... [More]

Speaking of "Straight Out of Compton," when I was living in SoCal I got assigned to jury duty there once. It's real interesting, having to park your car and then run the gauntlet past clusters of young worthies there to support feral as hell defendants, and knowing your next stop is through a metal detector, meaning you can't have any on you...

Glad to see the ones providing such inspiration are so well-protected...

Say, is that a picture of Sniff Dog in the linked article benefiting from armed "Only Ones"?  The convicted "gun criminal" behind #ImUnloading?

Meanwhile, Over at the Most Favored Nation...

Obviously:
Rosie then declared that she was ‘done with this f****** show' and told the executives 'to kiss her a**' before storming out of the building and vowing never to return to 'this s***hole of a place!'
It depends on what the meaning of the word "dignity" is.  Either that, or for "progressives," every day is Opposite Day.

So many "show business" types have no clue what lottery winners they really are, especially with legions working lesser venues in comparative obscurity, who are just as good or better, but haven't known or blown the right people.

After Mr. Wright became eligible for the return of his firearms, LAPD’s notorious Gun Unit and the City Attorney’s office put Mr. Wright through a five-year odyssey of illegal requirements to “prove” he owned the guns they seized from him in order to purportedly gain their return. While LAPD represented to Mr. Wright that his firearms would eventually be returned if he complied with LAPD’s unlawful requests for proof of ownership, the City Attorney’s office surreptitiously applied for an ex parte order to destroy the collection, and the LAPD then did so without any notice to Mr. Wright. This does not look to be a matter of exercising fully-informed jury rights -- the place for that was in reaching the verdict. [More]

This seems more like a matter of lying to keep from being disqualified as a juror -- assuming gross prosecutorial incompetence is not to blame.  I can't believe -- in order to accept a juror -- the prosecutor didn't ask each one some unequivocal form of: "If a guilty verdict is reached in this capital case, will you be able to vote for the death penalty?"

Was that question asked? If it was, and if the juror answered "Yes," he or she lied under oath.

About Last Night

More than anything else, a Thomas Pynchon quote comes to mind. Especially while watching the Luntz post-game wrap-up.

Anyone who's read my past assessments of him knows I'm no Trumpeter. But after watching last night's total and undisguised virtual assassination attempt by Megyn Kelly and Chris Wallace, and continued (and wholly unjustified) crowing by Liz Peek and other establishment media whores in their desperate attempts to manipulate public opinion, my low opinion of controlled opposition Faux News just sank even deeper.

These media conspirators-- what else would you call them? -- aren't really attacking The Donald -- he's just an avatar for people attracted to him because they're sick and tired of all the evil bullshit and don't know where to turn, but know it's not toward the RINOs. Those are the ones the elitists really have contempt for.

It looks from where I'm sitting, despite desperate attempts to convince everyone otherwise, like the hit job backfired and all the damage was from blowback. Look for the politics of personal destruction to go to the next level. And if that doesn't work, I won't be surprised to see things get even more personal.

Cornyn’s NRA-Backed Mental Health Bill Needs to Address Key Questions

It would help if we knew what protections equivalent to those provided in a jury trial that will provide. Specifically, will decisions rely on those who may have biases of their own, as can currently be the case, with ATF’s “clarifying the term ‘adjudicated as a mental defective’ to mean a determination by a court, board, commission or other lawful authority,” and with some states applying even broader “standards”? FBI Alert?

COLORADO, FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION, WYOMING (U//FOUO) FBI Alert: Middle-Eastern Males Approaching Family Members of US Military Personnel [More]
Public Intelligence has a good reputation for not going off half-cocked and spreading spurious or unvetted stuff. Still, it pays to be cautious, for instance, documents can be forged and the best of us can be fallible, so when the alert advised "Comments and queries may be addressed to the DENVER Division at 303-629-7171," I took 'em up on it.

The guy at the switchboard put me through to their media liaison, a special agent, actually, and her voice message advised if I wanted a timely answer, to send an email.

Fair enough. I prefer things documented anyway, so I wrote:
I am a member of the news media and a field editor for GUNS Magazine. I am attempting to determine the authenticity of the SIR presented at the Public Intelligence website: https://publicintelligence.net/fbi-middle-eastern-males/ As this is already making the rounds on the internet, and evidently on the verge of gaining wider notice, the FOUO notice no longer seems much of a deterrent. Can you confirm if it is authentic?
And received back:
Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide any information on the authenticity or contents of the document you sent. Our standard practice is to neither confirm nor deny investigations or comment on bulletins provided to law enforcement partners. Thank you,

A more practical manner of reducing gun deaths is strict bullet control at least as serious as with driver’s licenses. Licenses of several levels like level one for limited # bullets for a 22. To own high capacity clips or clips for guns with more than one bullet at a time must have advanced level bullet certificates for mental health and from police every two years. To own high caliber bullets or clips with more than a few bullets you would have to have training similar to an officer. Licensees would also have to keep records of their bullets like pharmacists do with narcotics. How many they have, who they give or sell them to, how they were used (target practice, etc). [More]

Meanwhile, Over at the Oligarchy.

And they're all concerned first and foremost with adherence to the Constitution and restoring abridged rights, right, as opposed to lowering their bottom lines and increasing their holdings and control...? [More]

But if a bunch of us small-timers pool our resources together under a common cause, why, that's outrageous. We need "campaign finance reform"!  Unless, of course, you're a Democrat-favoring union...

The Greater Threat

Despite public perception about the threat of extremists inspired by al-Qaida and the Islamic State, a new study shows that law enforcement officers are more concerned about the homegrown terrorist next door. [More]
Translated: Oath-breaking enforcers quite properly view armed tyranny resisters as having more of a chance to hold them personally accountable than foreign invaders, which, by the way, their masters have let into the country as a way to accelerate the power grab.

Not that Judy L. Thomas and the Fourth Estate Fifth Columnists at The Kansas City Star (home of Yael T. Abouhalkah) will tell you that.

You think owning a gun and frequenting sites like this one hasn't already put you on several?

But I don't want to get junk email!

Not really, when you consider, because of their employment, the service members' rights have been diminished below those of the citizenry.

But this won't do any good!

If you mean the administration won't do the right thing, true enough. But if you signed it and then helped make this go viral, and it took in 10 or 100 times or more the number of sigs requested, who knows what effect increased public awareness and demand would have on Republican responsiveness to a political opportunity?

The fact is, in the time it takes to articulate an objection, this could have just been done already.

Tonight on Armed American Radio

Oh gosh, another Fast and Furious gun has been used in a crime of violence, making Project Gunwalker one of those rare government programs that works as intended. Who'da thunk it?

I'll be joining host Mark Walters and fellow guest George "Mad Ogre" Hill in Hour 3 tonight to talk about that and other RKBA-related topics. The program broadcasts from 8 to 11 Eastern.  Click here to find a station near you or to listen via live streaming.

Bloomberg-Affiliated Propagandists Asking Oregon Gun Shops For Help With Anti-Gun PSA

A Washington DC “Democrat media consulting firm” affiliated with Michael Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns (and a host of anti-gun politicians) is offering Oregon gun dealers $1,500 to allow them to film an on-location “public service announcement,” Oregon Firearms Federation announced Friday. The filmmakers need a gun store as a backdrop for an actor to tell viewers how “easy” it is to comply with form requirements . . . [More]
