"They entertained whether or not they had enough to search it without that consent, and they did not. There was not enough probable cause to search it on its own, nor to get a warrant for the vehicle," Stevens said. "They thought there might be perhaps even drugs in the vehicle. They asked for a drug dog, but none were available. They looked at a few avenues. Ultimately, it would've been unconstitutional to search the vehicle so they released him." [More]

Republican Turncoats

Very good overall analysis. Very good information.

Here are the points I diverge and adapt from, and why:

First, he says "We are about to lose our gun rights."

No, we'll always have those and the guns will need to be surrendered.

Second, these are the traitors he's advising we contact to protest:

Look at GOA grades. I don't advise using NRA ratings, because they endorsed Fitzpatrick and I wouldn't expect them to downgrade him for proceeding through an equivocating green light they signaled.

This is how the last GOA scoring went:

Contacting "Fs"is a waste of time. They don't need you. I'd submit anyone with a "C" or below is not persuadable. Hell, when it comes to the fundamentals, I've got no use for "Bs."

But in addition to contacting the ones you think worthwhile (assuming anyone does, and experience hath shewn not to hold onto any illusions about that), I'd be demanding "F" grades for turncoats from NRA and GOA, and putting one more group on notice: The Republican National Committee.

Let them know you will limit all campaign contributions exclusively to candidates who have earned your support.

The retrofit was meant for individuals who have limited mobility in their hands or who have difficulties pulling the trigger multiple times.  Many detractors may not grasp why someone with such limiting factors would even want to hunt, shoot, or fire a gun, but many persons with disabilities are avid outdoor sportspeople.  There are specialized wheelchairs designed for hunting and trekking through woods and brush, adaptive crossbows, lifting tree stands, and add-ons that allow hunters with severe disabilities to fire their weapons by blowing through a straw.  Simply put, if it’s a right to own and utilize guns, the right must be extended to people with disabilities. One of the victims of the Las Vegas shooting has blown the whistle to reveal that he was shot by multiple gunmen during the massacre. [More]
Sounds like news, doesn't it?  So why is The New York Newsday registered in Macedonia and why does it contain this disclaimer in the footer?

I've been getting all kinds of "conspiracy theories" sent to me on this, including, yes, the one about gun-running for ISIS at the behest of the FBI, and while I agree the official story is being manipulated for reasons yet unknown, I'm not going to embrace alternate "explanations" without proof.

The reason for that is not because I trust "official sources," but because I don't. One powerful way to discredit alternate explanations is to sow seeds of disinformation that can be easily discredited, and to then conflate all such alternative explanations with the tin foil hatters.

The best I can do from this end, since I have no unique sources, is to offer the same process as in Fast and Furious. First I vet any would-be whistleblower, and if enough is there to proceed offer my "I'll go to jail before giving you up" protection, and then scream my head off for political guarantees and a trustworthy louder media voice.
