So Long and Thanks for All the Fish

Dan Gross, our immediate past president, has stepped down. [More]
They just can't compete and gotta be hatin' Bloomberg for squeezing them out of the top prestige spot. And showing them who's boss in no uncertain terms:
The other noteworthy revelation, at least to this correspondent, is that MAIG was not only pleased to have edged out the Brady Campaign as the major force to be reckoned with when it comes to political and media influence, but that Bloomberg had unilaterally (although not unpredictably) assumed the mantle of supreme commander. This came through loud and clear in an exchange on just who had claim to the use of celebrities that resulted in the “PSA” where various famous entertainers “demanded a plan” (rather brilliantly exposed for hypocrisy in a video showing the same media luminaries profiting from "gunplay").
"If true that you are attempting to intervene in the work we are doing with celebrities on Demand A Plan and drive them toward Brady: don’t,” MAIG Executive Director Mark Glaze told Brady Campaign President Dan Gross in no uncertain terms via email.
To be clear, that was not a request. That was an order.
That’s the way Mike Bloomberg does things. And he’s used to being obeyed.

Using Gross Logic

We can begin by making our voices heard to defeat the George Zimmerman Armed Vigilante Act. [More]

If we're going to do guilt by association (remembering no legal guilt for Zimmerman has been established at this time), then Minister King Samir "Kill Some Crackers and Their Babies" Shabazz is the Brady Campaign.

After all, just like Dan Gross & Co., the King's court rushes to judgment without all the facts under the promise that "No Guns" will "Stop the Killing!"

As an aside, if Gross is the best the Bradys can do, that's just wonderful.  So far their vaunted new advertising professional is making Paul Helmke look like the paragon of effectiveness.

Dan Gross Demands!

Demand That Campuses Remain Safe From Guns [Read]

Maybe if he stamps his feet...

Tell you what, Mr. Gross--since peaceable gun owners demanding our rights aren't the aggressors here, next time there's a school mass murderer, have one of your reps present him with your idiot demands.

Say, there's an idea: The Brady Gun-Free Schools Squad!

You obviously enjoy such wide and deep public support, there should be no problem recruiting a core of volunteer university students at every campus across the land who are trained to approach school shooters--to remind them they are in a "no guns" zone, to let them know how deeply their actions are resented, and to demand they remove their offending weapons from the premises immediately!

Maybe as part of their rapid response kit, you could include a box of "instant vigil" candles...

Feel free to use the t-shirt design, no charge. Happy to help. Wear them well.

Railing Against Gravity

"Do we want to live in a society where the answer to violence is more violence?'' said Dan Gross, president of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. [More]
When it's happening, what other answer is there?

And I love the way "objective" Authorized Journalist Dan Freedman gives us the choice between John Lott being either a nutty fraud or just plain wrong.

Could a licensed concealed gun carrier stop a tragedy?

Maybe, maybe not. It depends on the specific circumstances, but it happens all the time. At least he or she would have a chance, while both the defense-disparaging Dans would be relegated to popping their Rapexes in impotent terror, utterly useless to themselves and to all others except the killer.

#NEVERENOUGH

Buy a bracelet with a dead person's name! Proceeds will help Dan Gross keep his cushy gig! [More]

All the best-protected lottery-winning fascist media pigs are wearing them!

I see Dan is playing coy about this. No wonder-- Harvey himself has clammed up, possibly after his investors asked if he'd lost his mind. Plus, it's not like he kept his pledge to go easy on the"gun violence" in his movies or anything...

Four Against One

The disarmament advocates portray themselves as the arbiters of what's "reasonable" as they throw out their tired old lies about "paranoia"--especially considering what referee-with-money-on-the-game Alex Wagner is on record advocating.  [Watch]

Nice of a whole panel to gang up on one person.  I know the feeling.

And what's with that creepy smirking eyebrow raise Dan Gross does?

His Legacy Continues

His legacy, however, continues with the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, which has called for expanding background checks for gun buyers. [More]
It's called for a hell of a lot more than that, you ****ing apparatchiks at NBC News. And how predictable to then see Dan Gross use this as another excuse to attack your and my right.

Hey, maybe John could be a new spokesman, kind of a Voice of Experience.  Pair him up with Amy Fisher and I'll bet you could get reality show out of it.

Young Turks

No doubt looking for Young Armenians...[Watch]

That Michael Shure certainly is an idiot.  And Dan Gross, name just one person in "the gun lobby" who is "putting the guns in the hands consciously of dangerous people in the name of an industry."

The Answer to Gun Violence

Based on his own words and deeds, Dan Gross of the Brady Campaign wishes this had never happened.  Based on his own words and deeds, he and his organization would have preferred the outcome to be a dead cop. [Watch]

How it must torture them to the core, seeing "Authorized Journalists" put up a "Hero Shooter" graphic.

There's No Subversive Like an Old Subversive

Maybe you have a constitutional right to have a cellphone with a pre-dialed 911 at your bedside. That might provide you a little better protection than a gun which you're not used to using. [APPLAUSE] [Watch]
Yeah, unlike your orcs. Who'da thunk Nazgûl wore bow-ties under their black robes...?

That inane and unqualified opinion presented as expert simply because of who is saying it occurs around 36 + minutes into this video.

I love Dan Gross at the beginning claiming "Brady...has always been the voice of the American people..."

This is a long video, but it's important to watch it so you know what the enemy's designs are, and the lawyer group announced by Jonathan Lowy is one to be on guard against. It's also critically important to understand the "legal" rationale someone like Stevens uses  to allow his fanaticism to trump his oath.  Understand reversing Heller and McDonald are just "first step" goals. Howling of paranoia notwithstanding, these traitors, who would have us believe banning handguns in the home is "common sense"  and "reasonable" and a "compelling state interest," want and intend to settle for nothing less than absolute, unchallengeable power.

The thing to remember, with special significance to keep in mind with what we're being told about November: Stevens was a gift from the Republicans.

UPDATE: Kurt weighs in.

Is EveryTraitor.org Taken?

Gun control groups fighting each other over branding/images [More]
Kind'as reminds me of the squeeze they put on Brady over Hollywood stage props...
“If true that you are attempting to intervene in the work we are doing with celebrities on Demand A Plan and drive them toward Brady: don’t,” MAIG Executive Director Mark Glaze told Brady Campaign President Dan Gross in no uncertain terms via email.
To be clear, that was not a request. That was an order.

A Matter of Timing

Some call it "lousy."  [Read]

As a side note, I'm tickled to see the "legitimate media" giving increased notice to Vladd Everitt.  Better that attention goes to him than to someone from a group that could be, you know, effective at actually accomplishing something.  Plus, if it drains Astorturf funding from the Bradys, we'll all get to have a good laugh when the advertising guru they brought in to replace the failure Paul Helmke finally throws in the towel--maybe we can take bets as to when...

Speaking of timing, Jeez, Dan Gross, your latest video has been up for a week and has the gravitas of your main website and social media pages promoting it, and you've only gotten 1,369 views so far...?  And naturally, comments and ratings have been disabled...

How are we to believe your "hundreds of thousands" claim when less than one percent of that even care enough to watch your whiny YouTube self-validation piece? That's some public demand you've demonstrated there!

More Gun Violence in Texas!

I'm sure Dan Gross wishes no guns had been present and the woman had just been brutally stabbed to death, because we're better than this and besides, do we want to live in a society where the answer to violence is more violence? [Read]

Better

"We are better than this" is a new Brady slogan.  Meaning they consider themselves superior to those who support the right to keep and bear arms. Meaning they consider anyone who's not a bleater as inferior.

According to their new head flack Dan Gross, "The answer to violence is not more violence."

We ought to force feed such nonsense back to them every time there's a DGU. Because if their incompetent advice had been followed, this story would have ended very differently.

Forget you, hoplophobes. We're better than that.

We're better than you.

Now There's a Shocker!

Open Letter By Dan Gross, Former President of The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence & Rob Pincus [More]

I'm still internally debating on whether or not to weigh in. In the meantime, here are some thoughts from:

I see some are questioning AmmoLand's decision to publish it, saying we don't need to give the enemy another platform when they have the whole rest of the media to give them a voice and make sure to cancel our thoughts. I see that point, but I'm glad they posted it, and here's why:

The guy is self-immolating -- he'll never have credibility in the "gun community" again. Reader comments show no one is buying it, and that type of reader would not dominate in any other forum. This sends a loud and clear message that is not diluted by supportive comments lauding the idiot views as "common sense" and proof that we can find "common ground" if we just exclude those nasty right-wing extremists!

And as Napoleon Bonaparte, or Haley Barbour, or Woodrow Wilson is reputed to have said:
Never Interfere With an Enemy While He’s in the Process of Destroying Himself
If I do decide to write an article I'll bring up some points (and some proofs) I haven't seen anyone else talking about.

A Trainer Wreck

Mark and Lee Williams along with Andy Hooser tackle Lee’s rebuttal (and another) regarding an extremely controversial column written by Rob Pincus at Ammoland in conjunction with former Brady President, Dan Gross calling for expanded background checks. [Listen]

I talked about this briefly yesterday. I'm probably going to go ahead and do an article of my own.

Speaking of Absurd Contortions...

The answer to gun violence is not more gun violence. [More]
Jeez, we just got done talking about this. Yes, in fact, it is. It's the ONLY answer. That's why active shoo...uh...rampaging murderers prefer those "gun free zones" the Bradys tout as a solution.

But leave it to these nitwits to equate self-defense preparedness with violent criminal aggression.

So if you were confronted by an evil aggressor, who would you rather be prepared to emulate?  Dan Gross or Lt. Col. Dave Grossman?

It's a Big Club and I Ain't In It

ROB PINCUS ACCEPTS POSITION OF EXECUTIVE VP WITH SECOND AMENDMENT ORGANIZATION’S BOARD [More]

I see they embrace the same foolish bullshit that enables Robb to partner with Dan Gross, back Hillary supporters, and dismiss the greatest threat with a "single issue" deflection.

Death of a Salesman

Poster boy for U.S. gun control movement kills himself in jail on DUI charge: Mark Glaze, 51, who helped Obama write policy and took on NRA 'was suffering from depression' [More]

So you don't need a gun to do it, and no amount of government control short of putting everyone in s straight jacket and a padded room will stop someone who is determined?

What a study in cognitive dissonance:

  • A "safety advocate" saying he wanted to save lives endangered them through irresponsible drunk driving.
  • Someone demanding controls on you and me could (or would) not control himself.
  • What he really loathed turned out to be himself. He spent his professional life trying to "correct" everything but that. It's fair to wonder if the fixation on guns was because he knew what he might do with one.
He did do one thing I partially and qualifiedly approved of:

“If true that you are attempting to intervene in the work we are doing with celebrities on Demand A Plan and drive them toward Brady: don’t,” MAIG Executive Director Mark Glaze told Brady Campaign President Dan Gross in no uncertain terms via email.

To be clear, that was not a request. That was an order.
Anybody who wants to slap Rob's buddy around gets a thumbs-up -- on that -- from me...

And There Was War in Heaven

“If you think about it, the president, as I remember, said he wants more conversation. Well, we’ve been saying this for quite a while now. We don’t need more talk. [More]
But...but...but...

And Dan Gross worked so hard on creating that "We need to have a national conversation on guns" slogan...
