It's Only "Official" if Non-Officials Do it

Both men were charged late Tuesday with one count of first-degree murder of a peace officer, one count of first-degree murder, and one count of attempted murder. [More]
Now wait a minute--it says the officer was in plain clothes.

If Abbate can be acquitted of "official misconduct" charges because his victim didn't know he was a police officer, how is it that this extra charge can be tacked on here if they didn't know their victim was one?

Forget it Jake. It's Chi-Town.

Speaking of which, that "gun control" they have there works wonders, doesn't it?

The Chicago Way

That favor allowed Trotter to get a city permit to carry a concealed handgun, with some restrictions ... Allpoints Security has been actively supporting local political candidates with close to $50,000 in contributions over the past decade. Trotter collected $500 of that money. The firm also has a contract to provide security at city libraries.  It is worth a reported $735,000 dollars. It expires next year. [More]
And we would have gotten away with it, too, if it hadn't been for that idiot Trotter.

Still, just for yucks, read  about the professional standards and ethics.

My Kind of Town, Chicago Is...

Someone in Chicago has been shot every 2.84 hours this year for a total of 2,349 shootings during the period of January 1, 2015 to October 6, 2015, according to crime stats published by the Chicago Tribune. [More]
Those are some stats. They kind of speak volumes about "gun control," don't they?

Not so fast.  "Authorized Journalists" to the rescue!

Bloomberg Politics. The Washington Post. U.S. News. ABC News.

In short, without the edicts it would be worse, Chicago has eased up on those edicts, they don't have as many "mass shootings," it's tough to get complete data, and my personal favorite, because it implies we all need to adopt "the Chicago way," the criminals get their guns from places with more lax laws.

In a nutshell, if only they would disarm you and me.

My Kind of Razzmatazz

So you're enticing people who may not know the basic rules of gun safety, especially how to handle a gun and ensure that it's not loaded, to pick one up and transport it? [More]

It's what desperate incompetents do.

Good for Thee But Not for Me

Unlike most Chicagoans, Scott could have been a legal handgun owner. Because he had it before the ban was enacted, he was allowed to register and keep it. But the police department says he never did. By having it in the city, Scott was guilty of an offense that could have gotten him jail time. [More]
All these armed Chicago pols, deliberately ignoring the very laws they impose on their subjects.

I wonder if an equal rights lawsuit might not have some merit?

Ba-dap-bap-ba-baa...I'm Lovin' It!

How very "progressive." [More]

I could say more if I had the time, but I don't.  Suffice it to ask "Gee, guys, having second thoughts about signing that letter?"

That and asking the protestors what value they have put into themselves via unique, specialized or rare skills, training and accomplishments to make associating with them at higher wages worth it?  What do they do that anyone else couldn't be trained to do in a matter of days?

Workers of  the world unite!

Any wonder why the SEIU and NAACP are in on the action?

And anybody think $10.10 is anything more than a camel's nose under the tent, and a ploy to consolidate dependency and power?

Oak Brook?  Forget it Jake, it's Chi-Town.  And we know what that means.

We're the Only Ones Dismissed Enough

A Cook County judge today threw out an indictment against a Chicago Police officer accused of falsifying drunken driving arrests. [More]
If it's not acceptable department protocol, it's union rules.

That's why they're the "Only Ones" charged with enforcing laws on the rest of us and you're not. Even if they have to lie about it.

I want my Garrity! (Talk about your opportunity for a Dire Straits parody!)

And your town...

We're the Only Ones on Probation Enough

Chicago cop who beat bartender gets probation

'I have a fear of the police,' beating victim now says [More]
Figures:
[A]Cook County judge let the suspended cop walk out of court Tuesday with...no time behind bars for his attack on her.
I do disagree with the victim about one thing:
She says it's not quite rational to fear the police...
Sorry, but under the circumstances, as long as the "Only Ones" have no reason to fear us, either "legal" or otherwise, that's a perfectly rational reaction to have.

Here's one other outrage, from Circuit Judge John Fleming:
"If I believed sending Anthony Abbate to prison would stop people from getting drunk and hitting other people, I'd sentence him to the maximum...But I don't believe that is the case."
It's not a question of stopping "people". It's a question of stopping Anthony Abbatte.

Of course Fleming knows that. He's just shown us where his loyalties lie.

We're the Only Ones Reeking Enough

Given the fact that the CPD has a history that reeks of corruption, it is no wonder many residents fear interaction with officers. Afraid of becoming targets, they find it better to avoid law enforcement altogether. [More]
The rot starts at the top. Always has.

Is it too late to get Kif back...? Or "Shoot First" Garry?

Words of Explanation

Give me the words to explain this. [More]
OK--you're a reason-impaired moron ruled by ignorance and prejudice. If only we can make "the streets" even more "gun free," this 15 shootings in one night crap will have to stop! And who better to look to for making that happen than Snuffy and Tim-Tom?

One thing did ring true:
I needed some help myself.
Admission is the first step--assuming you mean it. Which, based on the rest of your weepy rant, you must not. So continue ripping out your hair Carol Marin. But you might want to wash your hands first, so you don't get blood in it.

We're the Only Ones "The Hits Just Keep on Coming" Enough

Chicago Police Supt. Garry McCarthy says his department is taking seriously a purported directive from a Chicago street gang to kill members of law enforcement. [More]
Jeez, what a dilemma.

It's not exactly like you can go to that group the Founders deemed "necessary to the security of a free State" for help in a time of need, is it?

We're the Only Ones Giving Back to the Community Enough

The guns are supposed to be destroyed ... Instead, it turned up eight years later next to the body of a young man who was shot to death by a Cicero police officer. [More]

Sounds like as good a reason to get paid for not working anymore and shell out $3.5M of tax plunder to me!  Hey, we can always sue the manufacturer!

I just ran across this story, which is three years old. You'd think we'd know how it ends by now.

Pretty Low-Hanging Fruit There....

A convicted felon admitted in federal court today that he illegally possessed a handgun at a suburban shooting range and then obstructed a law enforcement investigation into the matter. [More]
It does raise a question...

I see Midwest is one of the places Snuffy had it in for.

SSINF*

Chicago schools, police officials unveil plans to curb student violence
Increased security, text messaging service are among initiatives
Text messaging. Nothing like attacking a problem at its root.

And you just knew, coming from gun-free schools in gun-free Chicago, that it would all boil down to this:

"[E]asy availability of guns in our society is staggering."
Forget it Jake, it's Chi-Town.

I have to wonder though, if a student does text the paid snitch line, will it show up on their called numbers display, outing and endangering them if someone takes their phone?

We're the Only Ones Posing Enough

The Chicago Police Department is investigating several of its officers accused of forcing a college student they arrested during last month's G-20 summit in Pittsburgh to pose for a group photo with them. [More]
And while any number of sites can link you to the video, only WarOnGuns brings you this exclusive still photo of these "Only Ones" posing with their trophies:

The punch line?
"The Chicago Police Department does not tolerate misconduct by any of its members, regardless of where it might occur."
Comedy gold!

We're the Only Ones Preventing Enough

Police Supt. Garry McCarthy pointed out earlier this week that there were similar mob attacks last summer, and his department was able to get the problem under control. He said he believes they’ll be able to do it again this year, and it’s a matter of making sure his officers are where they’re supposed to be, to prevent these incidents from happening. [More]
The things you'd have to believe to buy that line of crap for one second...but then again, consider the source.

We Just Don't Understand It

Mell argued that reopening gun registration wasn't just a personal favor. He insisted that there were hundreds, if not thousands, of otherwise law-abiding Chicago gun owners just like him who had inadvertently allowed their gun registration to lapse.

On Friday, Chicago Police Department spokeswoman Monique Bond was hard-pressed to explain the slow response to the city's one-time offer.

"Either the public is unaware or they just haven't had an opportunity to come in and register," she said.
Or it could just be that Mell was, you know, lying, and this was naked abuse of political office for personal advantage, and no amount of lame excuses spokesprevaricators regurgitate will cover that up.

Not that they need to.

Forget it Jake

It is, indeed, Chi-Town, where we create the problem, and then forbid you to do anything about it. The lunatics are running the asylum. [More]

I've typed in and discarded half a dozen comments--they are all inadequate. I guess Charlton Heston said it best.

Freedom of Speech--Within Reason and as Allowed By Law

I can understand Canadians going after Mark Steyn for speaking candidly about the effects of radical Islamist influences in his native land. It's a Chinatown thing:

Forget it, Jake. It's Canada.
But naturally, there are domestic enemies in this country who think we need to be more like our neighbors to the north (south, east and west).
“It is not clear to me that the Europeans are mistaken,” Jeremy Waldron, a legal philosopher, wrote in The New York Review of Books last month, “when they say that a liberal democracy must take affirmative responsibility for protecting the atmosphere of mutual respect against certain forms of vicious attack.”
This guy's a professor. Why does that not surprise me?

And then you have the idiot former New York Times columnist arguing against "the imminence requirement."
“I think we should be able to punish speech that urges terrorist violence to an audience, some of whose members are ready to act on the urging,” Mr. Lewis wrote. “That is imminence enough.”
Think this would qualify, especially when the government gets to be the ones to decide just who qualifies as a "Homegrown Terrorist"?
Honour, justice, and humanity, forbid us tamely to surrender that freedom which we received from our gallant ancestors, and which our innocent posterity have a right to receive from us. We cannot endure the infamy and guilt of resigning succeeding generations to that wretchedness which inevitably awaits them, if we basely entail hereditary bondage upon them...

With hearts fortified with these animating reflections, we most solemnly, before God and the world, declare, that, exerting the utmost energy of those powers, which our beneficent Creator hath graciously bestowed upon us, the arms we have been compelled by our enemies to assume, we will, in defiance of every hazard, with unabating firmness and perseverence, employ for the preservation of our liberties; being with one mind resolved to die freemen rather than to live slaves.
What about this?
"Tell me," I was once asked, "What do you think about gun control? Give me the short answer." To which I replied, "If you try to take our firearms we will kill you."
Careful there, neo-Marxist eggheads. You're getting awfully close to a tripwire.

I guess these guys think they'll end up with cushy jobs and privileges at the Ministry of Truth, instead of, you know, being tortured and executed?

Forget It, Jake. It's Chi-Town...

Authorities are investigating after police say two young girls were shot, one fatally, on Chicago’s Northwest Side. [Watch]

Note to CPD: When you call it "gun violence," you deflect blame and in effect make excuses for the monsters. I also note he says they were alerted by Doesn'tDoSquatSpotter, the scam David Chipman was pushing before he got his domestic enemy gig at Giffords -- and naturally, the perp was long gone by the time the cops showed up.
