We're the Only Ones Protecting You from Yourselves Enough

...the city is now changing the rules and will not allow any more people to return to their homes.

Because obviously, "The Only Ones" know best.

I do think a special Eloi Award is due to refugee Veronica Johnson for the following bit of blind trust:
We have no right because they're trying to protect us.
Congratulations, Veronica. Because you have pleased us, we will eat you last.

Not really, but then again, we're sure you'll find some rationalization to excuse us, because you "understand safety comes first."

Unreal.

"Blazek drove his vehicle toward the state trooper and struck the state trooper three times with his vehicle," the release said.

Any doubt that the trooper jumped in front of his truck every time? Anyone think he was actually "struck" by the truck? And the guy gets charged with assault with a deadly weapon? For trying to get to his own house?

The blood, it boils.

Frankly, if a person shows that they live in the area they should be allowed to return to their homes. These people are not looters just people who want to look at their homes and see the damage.
The parasites are hiding behind the "looter" reason which sounds like the "war on drugs" to me.
If people want to put themselves in danger fine, just make it clear if they get in a jam they are on their own. Frankly, I honestly believe that I and most of my friends are smarter and better trained to deal with such issues far better than any parasite. If we were not than we would more than likely be parasites ourselves. In todays world 99.9 percent of the people who get government jobs are unable to get hired in the private sector but for flipping burgers, washing cars or filling up trucks at the truck stop.

So many people, so few cops and troops. Time for a remake of one of George Romero's Living Dead movies. Wait until nightfall, shuffle and moan. Roll over them like the tide...
Then go downtown, or wherever the city government is operating from now.
They're out-Naginned Nagin. I guess the house-to-house sear-- I mean INSPECTIONS -- take a long time.
Funny how behind the yellow tape things look dry and intact. People are innoculated against tetanus and other nasties found in floodwaters. What EXACTLY is the danger?
I don't resopnd well to conditioning. Not my hair, not my liberty.
There's trouble in River City, and that starts with T and that stands for Tyranny.
Also Tactics and Targets. Send them the right message, Iowans.

A checkpoint ain't nothin' but a speedbump. Obviously Mr Blazek wasn't going fast enough. Get some good air, as the skateboarders say.

John McCain is touring flooded areas of Iowa. Maybe he could drop by, urge the end of martial law, "Let my people go -- home!"
What am I saying?

Oooh, Bush is flying over Iowa in Marine One. No doubt Obama will also make an appearance. Will ANY of them stoop to actually, in a concrete, real way, protect the freedom of and respect for the people they blather so much about?
Learn to hold your breath for a LOOONG time.

Louisiana Gov. Bobby "for the common man" Jindal announces that National Guard troops will continue to patrol New Orleans as they have been since June 2006, allowing the police to "work to reduce violence and other crime."

And Bush and McCain are staying well away from Cedar Rapids so far, I guess for their own protection from themselves. They might collide with REALITY.

Nope, I must not be psychic enough. Barry O. is on his way to Chicago on a CHARTERED plane. No TSA for HIM. No mosquito-ridden Mississippi Valley flooded states for him either. It's hot and humid down there. His Countess Mara tie might wilt.

I was hoping someone in the crowd would yell out that there were more homeowners than there were police and they couldn't arrest everyone. Those gathered should have just told the police and federal regulars to go fuck themselves and made a mass push to their homes and beat any thug senseless that attempted to stop them.

There is a definite change in police and government tactics during this flood when compared to 93. The government is more authoritarian and more confrontational. The militarization of the police is evident as is their contempt for the citizenry.

They're a standing army among us to enforce the directives of a tyrannical government. It is obvious to anyone who cares to look

Prisonplanet has the names of the two (storm)troopers who arrested Blazek, who faces five years for assault with a deadly weapon, his truck.
They were PRAISED.

There is no way Blazek intentionally assaulted the thug with a badge. How do I know? Because the thug isn't dead with tire marks on his face.
