Breaking Up is Hard to Do

For a decade, Russian academic Igor Panarin has been predicting the U.S. will fall apart in 2010. For most of that time, he admits, few took his argument -- that an economic and moral collapse will trigger a civil war and the eventual breakup of the U.S. -- very seriously. Duraki! (Russian for "idiots")
The Russian newspaper "Izvestiya" is named for the Russian word for "News".
The Russian newspaper "Pravda" is named for the Russian word for "Truth".
The joke is, there is now news in the "Truth", and no truth in the "News".

I could give some credence to this story were it not for Texas being under the influence of Mexico. That is not going to happen. Perhaps Mexico may come under the influence of the Texas Republic.
