Vroom and Yetton's Tree

Start here and then follow the thread.

I think it's pretty funny, but then again, I consider CUM ULLA SELLA IN PUGNO TABERNA to be all you need to know about Situational Leadership® in some cases.

Actually, I think what he is saying is that we need to help the Deputy synergize a new paradym to maximize his minimalizations with a new more customer-centric model. Using his patented managerspeak technique of course. All this activity could actually be funded under the stimulus package as local community development.

Adam Cranston is one Magnificent Bullshit Artist. He could make a fortune giving leadership and management seminars. I had no idea WTF he was saying, but, damn he said it well.

Well played, Sir.

I felt like Slim Pickens - "You talk purtier than a $20 whore."

"Adam Cranston," like Lamont Cranston, "The Shadow," has the power to cloud men's minds... with bureaucratic BS.
When law enFORCErs apply extralegal force to people in their custody or not ...that violates the laws of decency and civilized behavior.
The rulebook is out the window at that point, Mr. Cranston. Your govspeak is perfect as you emulate the defenders of peasant-bashers who say the uniformed monsters among us need "only a little guidance and a better decision-making modality," and negative reinforcement that adheres to the letter AND spirit of established law, while they do not.
A deputy with a conscience would have reported his act to his supervisor immediately and volunteered to accept any disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
If their bosses cannot control them, we will. The most frightening aspect will be the calm with which we carry out the sentence -- I mean, engage the employee in an interactive, experential training scenario in decision-making skill-building by applying negative reinforcement stimuli. We guarantee no recidivism.

The really scary part is he might be serious. Either way, a genuine bs artist and obviously a government employee. As perceptive as he may be, he missed the fact the the tree reference means tree+rope=twisting in the wind, an old tried and true method of teaching manners.

"I have read through the comments and citizens have not offered constructive theroies of leadership."

in other words, cranston gets it that you don't like the police, which he calls leadership, and now he wants you to build yourself a new fascism that you would like.

Leadership works like this: If I were this miscreants boss I would NOT throw him to the wolves. My man, on my time= My problem. He would have preferred to have been thrown to the wolves, trust me. Everybody working under me would have known , well, not the details of what happened to him or where he went, but that you just don't FU on that scale while working for me.
But then I have a basic understanding of leadership. Stress basic.

All I could think of while reading that exchange was "Egghead"

Don't feed the Trolls.
Crantston gets a 8/10 on the trolling scale.

As this waronguns gains attention, we must be extra vigilant in regards to differentiating between those who are coming to learn, those who are coming to argue and those coming to get a reaction regardless of how(Trolls). I knowing trolling isn't something that everyone experiences, since a lot of people who support gun rights probably haven't spent much time in the seedier and less rule abiding sections of the internet. Crantston does an excellent job getting reactions from us 2A enthusiasts. But we must realize that we are a fairly reactionairy group of people that takes people at their word. I have noticed this in many 2A online communities, while it isn't a bad thing, it is naive for the internet. The future likely holds more trolling attempts on us, so we must be ready for them and call them out quickly.
