Mr. Spox

The Intergalactic Chessmaster as imagined by the Fifty Caliber Institute:
Wait until all of the facts are in; watch how NRA's "Mister Spock" (Chris Cox) moves the various pieces on the political game board we call Congress.
Good grief. They're serious.

Being one of "those people [they] don't consider mainstream Americans," this hardly surprises me.

You know, someone who doesn't consider this a game at all.

Someone who looks at a ridiculous statement like this...

The stakes are high - nothing less than the ultimate survival of American freedom is at stake.
...and realizes they don't have a clue if they seriously think this will be over once pawns like themselves have been removed from the board.

Also: Vanderboegh serves up a steaming platter of Gagh.

"[W]atch how NRA's "Mister Spock" (Chris Cox) moves the various pieces on the political game board we call Congress."

I've been watching for some years. Either Cox doesn't know how to play, or he's not playing to win for us.

I also find it amusing and revealing that they liken the NRA's "game" to 3D Chess, as if it's something too demanding and complicated for us little people to understand. I learned and played 3D Chess as a preteen.

"Chris Cox and his staff have but one loyalty and that is to protect and defend the rights of law-abiding Americans to keep and bear arms, and to position NRA so as to be an effective advocate for firearms freedom in America."

Ah-ah-ah -- BS -- Choo!!

Ask Bill Doss about NRA advocacy for firearms freedom.
"Give it [Doss' SKS, which the state attorney general's office had assured him was California- legal]to me, Bill, and I'll give it to them [a SWAT team]. Otherwise they're going to hurt you." -- NRA representative

The NRA rep's dialog was imagined, but here's an actual one:

"Bill did what any honest, law-abiding American would do...he turned in his SKS Sporter [a militia rifle] to the police."

—NRA video entitled "It Can't Happen Here"

Minnesota would not have had shall-issue carry, had it not been for the NRA's ability to finesse backroom political deals.

There's more to getting things done than sending emails and standing on the street corner waving flags.

"NRA has never said that it would support any version of H.R. 5175. However, now that NRA has been exempted there is no further need for NRA to actively oppose the bill...[o]n the contrary, NRA does not and will not actively support H.R. 5175, in any form."

Lessee if I can get this straight. They were not going to support it until they were exempted so they don't need to oppose it because they won't actively support it.

Sheesh! This isn't three-dimensional chess; it's pretzel logic. A Spox on their house!

When will the NRA learn that the difference between rights and privileges?
When will they stop selling our liberty to slavers?

With friends like the NRA gun owners need no enemy.

As I said in a response to both Cox and Keene at the NRA, their "rationale" is BS. It's the same losing tactic that the Native American Tribes used and got conquered with. They were all "single-issue" tribes and would not band together to fight a common enemy. Make your own mind up by looking at their position in society today.
