Active shooter drills are traumatizing students, experts say [More]Maybe because the "experts" have it set up as a "no-win scenario."
I'll bet if you handed out goggles and airsoft guns and appointed referees they'd not only get into it, they'd begin to understand they wouldn't need to be sacrificial lambs -- if their teachers and administrators weren't duty-shirking, "progressive" cowards.

But didn't Kirk cheat?
And got a commendation for original thinking.
I'd argue a test with a manipulated outcome is the cheat. And any chair in a bar fight...
First, education today is value-free indoctrination. The last thing educators seem to want is kids who think for themselves in a bad situation. Informing kids that they CAN fight back and teaching them to recognize and use the tools that enable them to do so intrudes on the State's power. No longer can the pioneers fight the attack off. They must wait for the cavalry to arrive, and if the entire wagon train perishes this is a better outcome in progressive thinking than having the peasants empowered. They might then get ideas and become "saboteurs and wreckers" of the coming Socialist Paradise.
