The Gunkapoette

I'm a gun owner, and I support an extreme-risk law in Iowa. [More]
And I thought the Moms' position was a gun in the home meant women were umpty-ump times more likely to be shot by their domestic partner or something...?

If you take a look at ALL of the numbers, not just the numbers that make their case look better, you find that America doesn't have a very high percentage of Ward Cleaver types going into a rage and offing June.

One needs to dig deeper and notice that the majority of shooters, and their victims, are also convicted felons, and are actively participating in some form of illegal business dealings.

So while it is true, as the original often misquoted study reveals, that the shooters and their victims often know each other, Ms. Cleaver, Wally and Theodore (AKA the Beaver) probably don't have a whole lot to worry about. But I'd advise them to keep a sharp eye on that Haskell character.

Every time I see one of these I want to ask, "What kind of gun do you own? How do you field-strip it for cleaning?"
