By the way, I checked the mall and it looks like they don't ban firearms. I guess that's a Florida thing and there's an enforceability question.

Well, mostly true anyway. You be the judge.
My uncle, a patrolman for Hialeah Police Department, shot himself in the hip while taking care of important business in the second floor men's bathroom in the old Burdine's department store in Westland Mall. He claimed his service revolver fell out of his holster while he was pulling up his pants and discharged when it landed on the tile floor. Anyway, that was his version of what happened.
For the remainder of his career, every time he entered the station locker room the other officers would run screaming out the nearest door. Kinda their take on how safe it was to be around him. I assume some of them were doing it in jest.

IANAL, so consult one if you want more info.
In Florida, if the private property owner, manager or his/her designate ask you to leave (whether you are armed or unarmed, but since open carry of a firearm is prohibited unless you are hunting, fishing, camping or going to and from a firing range that status is mostly unknown and irrelevant) and you do not, they may call the police. The responding police officer will tell you that you must leave as they requested. If you do not then leave then you have trespassed and may be arrested for that offense or at least physically assisted in the appropriate direction. You don't have to go home, but you cannot stay there.
If you post a sign stating "No Idiots Allowed", expect it to be ignored. Idiots do not understand signs.
