Braking Bad

ATF goes full B. Todd -- again. [More]

Breaking All the Rules

This happens in spite of this?

We're the Only Ones Tossed Enough

While I have a tough time buying into the contention of the gun-grabbing Seattle PD that the new use of force policy violates their 2A, the judge's "rationale," that we have a right to keep and bear arms, but just not to use them, defies any benchmark for sanity. [More]

Funny, though, how these guys turn to the Constitution when it suits their purposes.

Still, it does highlight a point more in government need to realize -- it just doesn't "protect" us from them...

We're the Only Ones Breaking Bad Enough

Since the manhunt began, Tully has been stopped and questioned by law enforcement officials as many as seven times in a round trip. The stops have always been simple until last week, when an unmarked law enforcement official from an unknown agency forced Tully to the ground by gunpoint, drove his knee into Tully’s back, demanded to know his name, and then threatened to, "break him." After Tully provided identification, the officer continued to badger him until a state police trooper arrived and told the officer on Tully’s back that it wasn't Frein. [More]
So: What was the thug's name?

I guess it's a good thing the state police say they have no idea...?

This Day in History: October 23

The States are so tardy in collecting the Taxes, that the most trivial sum cannot be obtained for the most pressing purposes—and in one sense it may be said, that the Officers of the Army are actually starving for want of a small portion of their pay—the Horses of it, for want of money to procure forage, are actually in this condition... We're the Only Ones Anonymous Enough

Oakley has 290 residents. They also have over 100 police, for some reason. Those police are also, more or less entirely anonymous. [More]
At first, I was thinking this is some kind of small-town proto-police state going on.  Reading more about it, including that the volunteer force is comprised of vetted ccw holders who train several times a year, I'm starting to wonder if what we have here may be a well regulated militia, and the powers that be don't like it one bit.

Not that I feel too sorry for a fool who still doesn't get it. But much more importantly, why was a proven perjurer not cast out and forever disgraced?

And regardless of lying protestations that it was only about sex, designed to derail the real crime from being viewed in proper context, Bill Clinton's perjury denied another woman her fair day in court, to where she felt compelled to settle from a disadvantaged position. I have no idea if Paula Jones was an innocent victim or not. All I know is, court is supposed to be the place where the truth comes out. And if one of us had lied under oath, we'd have spent time in a cage.

Why is Hillary Clinton, who abetted her husband's crimes to retain power über alles, considered a viable candidate for being trusted with it again?

Democrat race-hustling to abet public endangerment what’s really 'unspeakable'

How is it the fault of the Republicans what Jenkins looked like, and what his race was? Are we supposed to impose censorship, like Comedy Central did with Mohammed on “South Park," simply because he’s black? Is that, in itself, not racist? [More]

Over 30,000 on New York mental health list show rights and real dangers ignored

Clearly, anyone who cannot be trusted with a gun demonstrably cannot be trusted without a custodian, as everyday tools and substances that can be abused for murderous purposes are within reach of all who enjoy freedom of movement. Simply deeming such people prohibited from lawfully buying a gun will obviously not hamper their ability to obtain one unlawfully, or to use other means to injure and kill. The only safeguard against that happening is to remove such individuals from the general population. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner report shows actually believing fraudulent gun denials will stop bad things from happening is insane.

Maybe more guns are needed on campuses to keep radical 'feminists' away

If people believe their pet group isn’t fairly represented, they’re free to do what all game developers do, and finance/create one they approve of, and then see if there’s any market for it. But the problem with that is, for humorless “feminists,” it’s difficult to conceive of them coming up with a game anyone would want to play, something that’s, you know, fun. These are the Domestic Enemies the Founders Warned Us Against

Democratic assemblyman Brian Kavanagh of Manhattan announced legislation last week that would let anyone bring law-abiding citizens into court for a temporary order to either confiscate their guns or prevent them from buying any firearm in the first place. Furthermore, she says, the Greek word used in the Gospels that Martin interprets as sword really means something more akin to knife.
Actually, when I looked into it some years back, I found:
[L]ooking at the Greek source for this passage, the word used was "machaira" (makh'-ahee-rah), and it was a very special kind of sword. Derived from the root word "mache" (mach'-ay), meaning fighting, strife, combat, of those in arms, battle, etc., the machaira was a short thrusting weapon, designed for close infighting. This also allowed for concealment, a requirement when you consider the need for discrete deployment of weapons under Roman occupation, plus it was readily affordable by common people- kind of the "Saturday night special" of its day.

Thing is, "democracy" is no guarantee, either, without the true egalitarian power-sharing that comes with having the means to say "No" and back it up.  We need more than a "general method of nonviolence."
