Key issues report and Giuliani endorsement add to gun owner concerns with Lynch
As for actions on guns, determining Lynch’s sympathies is indirect, but nonetheless not too hard to divine. She supported anti-gun Hillary Clinton, and then anti-gun Obama in their bids for political power. Earlier, she had supported David Dinkins for Mayor of New York, helping enable his lookalike “assault weapon” ban. And speaking of former Big Apple mayors, Rudy Giuliani, naturally described by “progressive” publications as a “staunch Republican,” gives her a thumbs-up. [More]Today's Gun Rights Examiner report notes the same enablers from last time are getting ready to pull a trick experience has taught them works every time.

NFA Forms Undergoing Changes
From FFLGuard, via email:
ATF announced recently that it has revised ATF Form 1 and Form 5, and the new forms were designed to eliminate the need to complete ATF Form 5330.20, Certificate of Compliance with 18 U.S.C. 922(g)(5)(B), in addition to the forms themselves. This was accomplished by integrating the information from ATF Form 5330.20 into the ATF Forms. In addition, while the new ATF Form 1 and Form 5 may be used for paper submissions, the original ATF Form 1 and ATF Form 5 eForms are to be used for now. These and other updated eForms are expected to be rolled out as early as the SHOT Show this January. We will keep you posted as new forms are released.

I stipulate statistical analyses have always left my eyes glazed over. If something doesn't interest me, it's indecipherable, and if something does interest me, grasping and retention borders on instantaneous and photographic. Sometimes that can be a blessing, other times not so much.
That said, I'd like to see a chart showing the number of gundupes personally willing to lead confiscation raids, and maybe another one showing the number of gun owners they'd personally like to see broken and/or destroyed.

How to Tell the Difference
Several bills have been introduced to allow 'open carry,' in Texas and Governor-Elect Greg Abbott says he is ready to sign an open carry bill. Meanwhile, the well organized, Bloomberg-funded group 'Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America' says it is prepared to fight Open Carry legislation, saying it will make it a lot tougher for police to tell the 'good guys' from the 'bad guys' on city streets. If the extent of a gun owner's individual involvement is an occasional blog or forum comment, then compromise won't even be an issue. The antis will ram things through and keep on rolling.

Disorder in the Court
They showed jurors pictures of Faella and others dressed in military-style outfits and showed video of weapons training on Faella's property. Prosecutors told jurors that they didn't have to prove a specific plan, just show the group was doing the training for some sort of civil disorder. [More]Assuming civil disorders can also be responded to, wasn't that once considered a citizen's duty, along with serving on a jury and voting?
Here's the "law." I see "loopholes" you could drive an MRAP through. Who is responsible for this abomination? Anybody gun owners voted for?
As for what they say he "planned" to do, if they have specific evidence of a criminal conspiracy, bring it, and let him have due process on the charge. Otherwise, it seems he ought to actually need to do something evil in terms of threatening and/or initiating force before he's done anything actionable.
As for the guy being a racist, if he hurt anybody, prosecute him. If he didn't, life is full of distasteful people. Tolerance doesn't mean approval, as much as some insist otherwise.
It sounds like the guy refused to plead and the prosecutor was a dick about it, desperate to get something and pretty sure he could find twelve emotion-driven ignoramuses. Not having heard the evidence or participated in deliberations, I'll admit drawing conclusions from an incomplete picture. That said, from what I see here, my first thought is "What the hell is wrong with juries?" My second is "What the hell is wrong with 'the law'?"
The problem with an unsympathetic character like this is the money to appeal can soon run out, and who wants to tie their name in with contributing to a defense fund for him? So Economic Waco wins and bad law gets bolstered.

Gun group warns against continuing resolution surrender by Republicans
That said, gun owners represented by politicians who owe their seats in part to Second Amendment activism, or who are in districts where ignoring or opposing such concerns can jeopardize electability, now have a tool at their disposal to make their will – and the likelihood of their future support – known. One can’t help wondering if the zeal for weaponry has been fueled by the same dismal racism that has propelled so many social ills. [More]Sure they can, if they're not a ridiculous lying Prozi gundupe.
This exchange in comments tells you all you need to know:
A-yup.
I left out the middle part, where willingly ignorant comment bigots agreed with the lie, and the part after, where the truth was never acknowledged and the argument was changed to put responsibility for calls to repeal on "the NRA cult."
There's no reasoning with these hive insects. Just understand what they want is exactly what they ridicule us for recognizing -- their own evil intentions.
The hell with them.
Lone Star Legislation
Introduced by newly re-elected Representative Tim Kleinschmidt (R-Lexington), House Bill 176 (HB176) declares all federal restrictions on the right to keep and bear arms to be "invalid" and "not enforceable" within the state of Texas. [More]Doesn't look like he has any co-sponsors yet, but the "text" tab is active if you want to read the bill.
We know how the feds responded to Firearms Freedom Acts in Tennessee and Montana, and we also know who doesn't want to get involved (and how). I've actually been remiss in following up on more recent developments, so if you're interested, you can keep up with developments here.
I've been asked what I think.
If a critical mass of gun owners were serious about defending their right to keep and bear arms, we'd be invincible and wouldn't need to dick around with political half measures.

It's Inevitable
Registration leads to confiscation. [More]
And what leads to registration?
I'm going to let Gomer sit this one out. He's already made one appearance today.

A First in Oregon
Oregon’s first anti-gun ballot measure has been filed. [More]You tell 'em, Ifeanyichukwu.
Because nothing says safety and freedom like emulating Nigeria!
Running the Asylum
So total control doesn't equate with superior safety for the defenseless? [More]
There's a microcosm in here somewhere...
Gomer? You're on.

A Fair Trial
The reason for this is that the guidelines, like the mandatory minimums, provide prosecutors with weapons to bludgeon defendants into effectively coerced plea bargains. [More]Between that and economic Wacos and career-obsessed "team player" prosecutors, and "progressive" judges and ignorant juries...

Smell the Blood in the Water
This Democrat Is Giving Up on ObamaCare [More]Starting next week, I hope to examine why the time is ripe for repeal from a gun perspective I've been laying a foundation for and will be building on. Thing is, we're going to need the guys who told us they'd fixed everything to admit the dangers that still exist and then apply pressure for a corrective vote.
Maybe smelling blood in the water will excite them with the possibility of a huge victory to claim. Or not.
Let Commie Sense Prevail
If you can’t get a gun, You can’t use a gun. [More]Thanks for admitting the end game.
And no, you don't need to trade freedom for security. One day, that big lie will be exposed, and the superior security of true freedom will be evident to all who conduct themselves in a manner consistent with it -- and especially to all who won't.
And who cares what a delegation of foreign collectivists think about the right to keep and bear arms? Besides Prozi subversives and the gundupes who empower them?
I think I'll take advantage of the two-edged Alinsky Rule 5 and start using "commie sense gun control." Those leanings are "hinted at," Representative-Elect Burton, because that is what you promote. If there's a more weasel-worded, fork-tongued example of doublethink than your "Passion for rugged individualism; but valuing collective responsibility" slogan, I've yet to hear it outside of the Ministry of Truth.

It Depends on What the Meaning of the Word "IS" is.
Three uses of the term "Islamic State" and 55 calling them "IS"... [More]
Keep this up and I'll start to think "AP" stands for "Apologist Propaganda."
Oh wait: I already do.

Behind Enemy Lines
He's made it through the gates of Mordor. [More]
Don't they have any decent places to eat there?
UPDATE (11:41 a.m.): I just got off the phone with him. They're driving past Newtown. I advised him that CT is an all-party consent state in terms of recording, so if they get stopped by the cops, advise them the machine is on and they shouldn't say anything unless they consent to be recorded...:-)
UPDATE: (8:10 p.m.): I see Anthony Martin reported on this.

Haters Gonna Hate
Let’s not mince words. People who punish and restrict innocent people are bigots. [More]Let's not. They're that and a whole lot more.
Winging It
For all who "feel safer" in a "gun-free" environment: If you want to be assured that first responders are dependent on second responders, with the delay that guarantees, you couldn't pick a more cooperative place than Big Kahuna Wings, where customer choice comes last! [More]
