Spreading Myths

There have been a series of articles from Politico, the Huffington Post, Slate, and the New York Daily News with similar titles meant to cast doubt on defensive gun use, such as “the myth of the good guy with the gun.” [More]
Boy, does he have that right.  And you can prove that a meme has been started and is being parroted and propagated for yourself.

Why do you suppose that is?

Paranoid Gun Owners

Yeah, pay no attention to all those editorials demanding to repeal the Second Amendment in the current Google News feed being promoted throughout the land. Besides, you can trust us on guns: we have Gannett ethics!

Do you believe that loon Ben Carson, actually suggesting to fight back?

And thinking that the Holocaust could have been resisted had more Jews been armed and unified? Where would anyone come up with a ridiculous idea like that?

Or that governments that disarm citizens to establish a monopoly of violence would ever abuse such powers? That's just plain ludicrous!

All these Fourth Estate Fifth Columnists have are blatant lies and Alinsky Rule 5 ridicule. If you want to take a brief trip further down the rabbit hole, try reading some of the comments -- they demonstrate better than anything I could say why it's a waste of time trying to debate with fanatical ignoramuses. Obama and Hillary Both Show Cards with Praise for Australian ‘Gun Control’

The effect is the same as confiscation, but they force you to legitimize it by acceptance of “payment.” It’s the equivalent of raping someone and then leaving $20 on the nightstand – and you’d better put some ice on that. [More]
A crazy woman says she wants to "buy back" your guns.  Ordinarily, the appropriate thing to do would be to move on, and call the authorities if she won't leave you alone and starts getting belligerent and dangerous. In this case, "the authorities" would be working for her.

Thanks, Grover Norquist, Marco Rubio, Paul Ryan, Jeb Bush, NRA, SAF...

And thank goodness this has nothing to do with that "single issue"!  Right, Adam Winkler?
The fastest-growing minority group in America is Latinos. Between 2000 and 2010, the nation’s Latino population grew by 43 percent. Hispanics, which make up 17 percent of the population today, are expected to grow to 30 percent of the population in the coming decades.
Gun control is extremely popular among Hispanics, with 75 percent favoring gun safety over gun rights.
Asian Americans also represent a growing anti-gun demographic. Although only about 5 percent of the population today, the Asian American population is predicted to triple over the next few decades. A recent poll of Asian American registered voters found that 80 percent supported stricter gun laws.
Curious, how few "gunbloggers" and "gunwriters" ever weigh in on this, except to repeat that this has nothing to do with that "single issue."

We have to be ready for SCROTUS doing what I predict it's going to do in the Highland Park case -- nothing, thereby allowing bad "law" to stand. At that point, the choices will be clear: Surrender or defy, with whatever consequences that results in.

So Much for Being "Owned by the Gun Manufacturers"

Even CNN admits  the money comes from the grassroots, making this a good link to have the next time you run across a Prozi troll spreading lies. [More]

That said, the bit about the computer programmer from Texas tithing to Fairfax, the subject of another CNN piece, elicited a response from WarOnGuns Correspondent Laocoön. I don't see where his comment was allowed, so I need to post it here rather than link to it: :
What a sucker.
1. The NRA raises $400 MILLION dollars a year, most of it wasted and stuffed into the pockets of greedy staff, sweetheart vendors, corrupt directors, phony "pro gun" politicians, and other parasites who don't give crap one about 2A or are actually working passive-aggressively to destroy 2A and the USA itself.
2. Wayne LaPierre's "package", the disclosed part of it anyway, is over $2 million; Pepe LaPew's pay alone is about the size of the entire budget of Gun Owners of America.
3. There is no such thing as a pro-gun Democrat politician. ALL Democrats are working for gun control and the destruction of the USA. Every last one. There is no such thing as a Dem who never supports openly anti-gun Dems for other offices (e.g., President), never votes to confirm anti-gun nominations for judiciary and enforcement positions (e.g., Sotomayor, Kagan, Holder), never votes for gun grabbers for leadership positions (e.g., Pelosi Galore, The Harry Reid), never votes for the cultural terraforming and takeover of the USA through over-immigration, invasion, occupation, de facto amnesty and de jure amnesty.
4. The NRA passive-aggressively works for the permanent destruction of the Republican party, 2A and the USA in countless ways. For example, the NRA donates millions of dollars, alongside Michael Bloomberg and Rupert Murdoch, to defeat true conservatives in the primaries and re-elect corrupt RINOs. For example, NRA donated hundreds of thousands defeating Chris McDaniel in Mississippi & re-electing corrupt RINO Thad Cochran, and trying to defeat Dave Brat & re-elect Cantor in Virginia.
5. Bloomberg collaborator, Islamophile, open-immigration/amnesty subversive, Left-"Libertarian" phony tax reformer Grover Norquist is the darling of the NRA board of directors.
6. The suicidal immigration policies passive-aggressive supported by the NRA and actively supported by Norquisling are in the process of causing irreversible cultural and political terraforming of the USA. Within 20 years the Dems will have permanent supermajority control of the federal government and a supermajority of the states. Enough to win every key legislative battle, nomination battle, judicial battle and enforcement battle. Enough to control all arms of government including executive, legislative, judiciary, police, "security", spy, and military. Enough to legally change the Constitution at will. So say goodbye to your guns, liberty, country, quality of life, culture, property, standard of living, etc.

The Finish Line

But the ride is far from over. [More]

Under False Pretenses

A pro-gun-control assemblyman has taken the unusual step of joining the National Rifle Association for what he says is a way to gather intel on how best to fight the powerful organization. [More]
Yeah, well, according to the Bylaws, which paid staff and directors ought to be held to, just like politicians and bureaucrats are ostensibly held to Constitutional adherence, that disqualifies him for membership.

Association Bylaws, Article III, Sec. 11, "Involuntary Termination of Membership and Disciplinary Proceedings" states in part: "Any individual or organization member may be suspended or expelled for good cause, including, but not limited to, any conduct which is contrary to, or in violation of the Bylaws of the Association."

Mosley's public anti-gun advocacy is in direct conflict with Article II, Purposes and Objectives, section 1: "To protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, especially with reference to the inalienable right of the individual American citizen guaranteed by such Constitution to acquire, possess, collect, exhibit, transport, carry, transfer ownership of, and enjoy the right to use arms, in order that the people may always be in a position to exercise their legitimate individual rights of self-preservation and defense of family, person, and property, as well as to serve effectively in the appropriate militia for the common defense of the Republic and the individual liberty of its citizens;"

Additionally, Article III, "Membership," section 1., "Eligibility," requires that the member "subscribes to the objectives and purposes of the Association."

Boot his subversive @$$. And keep the "$35." Assuming this isn't all just an attention-seeking a lie, and sloppy "journalism" not to have noted the discrepancy between claim and reality, assuming this Lovett character isn't in on a scam.

There's Something About Lauren

A young woman at a campaign event in New Hampshire — self-righteous, hands on hips, a-quiver with indignation — popped up to declare, “I don’t think you’re a friend to women.” ... Turns out that the woman, identified as Lauren Batchelder, 18, is a college volunteer for the fading candidacy of Jeb Bush. [More]
That in turn makes it fair to ask why a political activist who proudly includes a "community service award" from Barack Obama in her profile, and who lists Planned Parenthood as one of the organizations she supports, would be a volunteer for "the most pro-life governor in modern times"?

Gosh, if we can't let our opinions on the issues of the day be kneejerk swayed by those of our favorite celebrities, whose can we trust?

I used to have a VHS tape labeled "Marlon 'n Me," from when his screwed-up kid was on trial in Santa Monica for murdering his screwed-up sister's screwed-up boyfriend, and he showed up to plead for mercy, probably because he felt guilty for being a screwed-up father. I was on jury duty that day, and was standing right behind him when he gave an impromptu press conference, and my buddy called me up that evening and said "You're on Channel 9."

That same day, I saw the guy who played Bobby on "Taxi," who was at the courthouse over his continued criminal abuse of drugs, from before he blew every advantage given to him by his show business lottery win and OD'd. Plus I saw the guy who would be OJ's lawyer, not Kardashian, the other guy, Shapiro, just radiating an expensive tailored suit, shoes and hairstyle.

Anyway, if you want to see celebrities up close and personal, forget wearing your tight sweater to Schwab's Pharmacy and hoping to be discovered -- the "in" places to meet the beautiful people are where they go for sentencing, and of course, rehab.

In the words of the "immortal" love goddess who apparently killed herself because she was incapable of giving or receiving love, "That's the last..."

Media Continues Spreading Distortions and Lies about Oath Keepers

“The bigotry and hatred championed by groups like the Oath Keepers does not represent the majority of Americans,” Ellison charged, without providing one example to substantiate such an ugly and damning accusation. In fact, he can’t, and a few minutes on the website would have provided numerous examples of Oath Keepers being just the opposite of how it’s portrayed, as exemplified by some of the videos on the website’s “About” page, or this couldn’t-be-clearer section of the Bylaws... Gabby’s ‘Protect All Women Tour’ Appears to Be Following Bloomberg’s M.O.

Funny thing about that, though. My response, in the order presented:

Hurry Up and Wait

Gun rights and gun control advocates alike will have to wait a little longer to find out if the U.S. Supreme Court will hear a challenge to a Highland Park firearms ban. The high court is now expected to decide at the earliest on Monday if it will take the case, which involves a gun owner who sued the North Shore community over its ban on semi-automatic "assault weapons" that carry more than 10 rounds. [More]
My prediction from a couple days ago in response to being asked:
[M]y *opinion* is they will not hear it and will not say why ... If they do hear it, I don't see how an honest reading of 2A and subsequent decisions could rule against the right to own them, meaning if they go the other way, it's game on against those of us who will not comply.
I'll have more to say after the decision -- or lack thereof  -- but nothing I haven't been saying for years.

Taking Down a Campus Killer

Ray and an armed (with his shotgun) civilian school administrator, both went up to the top of the tower together to stop Whitman. When they stepped out of the elevator at the top, Ray went around the tower in one direction and the armed civilian went the other way. It was pure chance that Ray encountered Whitman first, and hence, pure chance that Whitman was not shot down by an armed civilian school staff member, instead of an LEO. That’s how people reacted back in those days. [More]
There are a lot of great comments under yesterday's AmmoLand piece, but this one by "oldshooter" is outstanding, not to mention educational -- especially as he recalls the prevalence of guns in college dorm and frat house life back before subversives and useful idiots took over.

First of all, it's not a "militia group."

Second, they're only doing what's been proven to work under fire.

And lastly, what's with ending the article giving SPLC the last word?  How the HELL can a group centered around the oath its members take to the Constitution be  characterized by anyone but an Opposite Day "progressive" liar as "anti-government," and why did the "reporter" not see fit to question that?

Brett Heaton Juarez, the jury's foreperson, said the jurors all agreed the business practices of Badger Guns were shoddy. He recounted testimony from the owners that they didn't train workers, didn't have policies and procedures they regularly followed, had not read federal regulations and didn't even know everything that was required on federal gun-selling forms. [More]
This did not need to be. Seeing people hang themselves because they don't do the fundamentals just makes me shake my head. I'm also wondering why the owners were advised to testify, assuming they had a choice.

Let's hope the appeal is handled competently, because this really amounted to snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.  I'm just wondering who else is going to be badgered into bankruptcy now that such an unnecessary precedent has been set.

We need your help RIGHT NOW in letting Nevadans know about the new gun regulations Bloomberg and his army have planned for our state. [More]
I can't imagine being a Nevada gun owner and not already being heavily involved in fighting this. These people are carrying a heavy load and putting much of their own lives on hold to do what needs to be done.  How can anyone let them continue and not want to pitch in?

Wrong Question

I'm more concerned about all those crappy false alternatives the RNC is offering. Without a clear plan to stop and reverse cultural replacement and block off that "pathway to citizenship," as Hillary asked, what difference does it make?

Commie Book Men

According to the publisher, StormFront Entertainment, the $4 comic book will detail the “grassroots-level groundswell of support” that has “catapulted Sanders into the national spotlight, forcing his competitors to, ‘Feel the Bern!’” [More]
Something that calls itself "StormFront" putting out propaganda for an unabashed national socialist..?

Well, "progressives" do try to deny that connection...

If you don't mind spoilers, here's how it ends.

Today's Five-Minute Activism Opportunity

GOA says tell your Rep. "No" to Paul Ryan. [More]

Or as I like to call him, Obama's Choice.

Anti-Texas Campus Carry Petition Trips over Inconvenient Truth

"I remember thinking, ‘All we need is a bunch of idiots running around with rifles.’ But what they did turned out to be brilliant. Once [Whitman] could no longer lean over the edge and fire, he was much more limited in what he could do. He had to shoot through those drain spouts, or he had to pop up real fast and then dive down again. That’s why he did most of his damage in the first twenty minutes." [More]
Oh, look: What the pro-murder lobby tells us will happen in their fantasy scenarios doesn't in real life. Rational adults are more than capable of identifying just who it is threatening them with deadly force.

We're the Only Ones Hosed Enough

Two Connecticut cops were hanging out together off-duty when suddenly, they feared for their lives, drew their firearms and hosed down a suspicious car in their driveway. Too bad the car was empty. And belonged to one of the officers. [More]
Aren't you glad highly-trained and trusted "Only Ones" are empowered to arrest you for "gun violations"?

Seems Like Overkill

Not this. [More]

This, if the "Hundreds of military/swat/FBI vehicles ... dozens of swat and military guys" estimate is close.

Never Again (Except When We Enable It)

In a sermon delivered over the weekend at a mosque in Gaza, an Imam encouraged fellow Palestinians to hunt down Jews in the West Bank, calling for Muslims to “stab” Jews wherever they find them. [More]
Thank G-d for "common sense gun safety laws"!

Sealing Up the Wrong End of the Tunnel

America Should Be Prosecuting Straw Purchasers, Not Gun Dealers [More]
Not quite. I get what he's saying, but the net he's casting snags more than sharks, and can also capture the harmless, or "I will not comply" activists like... me. He's also making Bloomberg's case for background checks registration.

I have a right to purchase any gun I want for anyone I want, and it's no one's business unless I make it so. What I don't have a right to do is abet someone I have good reason to believe will harm others.

As a responsible adult member of society, I have a duty to help ensure such misfits who come to my attention are rendered incapable of predation. After all, if such a person has done something to legitimately disqualify himself from gun possession, he shouldn't be freely moving among us.

Anyone who can't be trusted with a gun can't be trusted without a custodian.

Sowell Searching

If there is hard evidence that stronger gun control laws actually reduce gun crimes in general or reduce murders in particular, the Second Amendment can be repealed, as other Amendments have been repealed. Constitutional Amendments exist to serve the people. People do not exist to be sacrificed to Constitutional Amendments. [More]
Sorry, but I am not responsible for the actions of others, and repealing 2A would not erase the right.

People Dead, Send Us Money

No, not gun owners we'd like to see killed that we set up for SWATting, other, financially exploitable ones. [More]

This, from the hive insects who say talking about any self-defense, not just the armed kind is the "ugliest [thing they've] ever heard"...

Hey, mustn't challenge their precious Prozi "monopoly of violence."  Otherwise, they might call you "white."

Spare the 'Rod'...

Prosecutors charged a Kansas City man Monday with two counts of first-degree domestic assault for allegedly shooting his 7-year-old daughter in the hand and in the back ... [More]
Ah, that takes me back to the days of potty training feral sons Uday and Qusay...

So the "man" has been a "prohibited person" since 2007...?

Well that didn't work.

If only they would disarm you and me.

What's in a Name?

California became the first state in the nation to pass a law prohibiting public schools from using the term "Redskins" as a team name or mascot. [More]
But other racial stereotyping is just fine:

Ain't that right, fellas?

UPDATE: And yeah, I've always been kind'a amused by this:

Deliciously Manageable

WHITE HOUSE WOULD LIKE PAUL RYAN AS SPEAKER [More]
Ask yourself why.

Meanwhile, neocon tool Hugh Husefulidiot, deceptively portrayed as a "conservative" in order to smear the actual ones as "extremists," is giving the appropriately-named Crooks & Liars an opening to attack a man of principle for not betraying those who elected him -- specifically to challenge sellout crooks and liars.

Here's all you need to know about Charlie Dent vs. Dave Brat.

Thank goodness this has nothing to do with that "single issue."

Armed American Radio Last Night

I was on in Hour 3 to talk with Mark about the AZCDL meeting and some current stories in the news. [More]

Today's Second Five-Minute Activism Project

NO COMPROMISE ON FEDERAL GUN CONTROL  [More]
Sign and share.  I did.

Oh, and if you're worried about ending up on some list -- you don't think you're not already on all the ones that matter, do you?

About the AZCDL Annual Meeting

I have finally caught up with all the outstanding communications I'll have time for due to my attendance at the Arizona Citizens Defense League annual meeting.  It was a really good event and I'll have a more detailed report later, and hopefully a video of the speech, but for now just wanted to share a couple photos:
Me, speechifyin'...
Me 'n Jay Dobyns
UPDATE: Didn't realize there were two pix of me at the podium  -- I just graduated from a pull-start clamshell two weeks ago, so I'm slowly learning.
In this photo I was holding up the "Mr. Codrea" place setting card and explaining the only people I expect to call me that are the wife and kids, and they just laugh.

A Higher Education

In wake of College shooting, Oath Keepers to Form College Chapters and Train Students to Fight Back. [More]
It's about time students got a chance to learn something useful they will actually retain, as opposed to what usually happens.
