This Day in History: March 28
There is a Briton, of High Rank and Office now in Paris, who, in a late Conversation with a Dutchmen, told him, that his Country would declare War against Holland before next October. We are ruined, says he, that is plain. As to the Americans, it is certain they will have their Independence. But God d—n them, why should they wish to rip up our Belly, the Belly of their Mother? I should have answered, why did the Mother pluck the Nipple from the boneless Gums, even when the Infant was smiling in her Face, and dash the Brains out? [More]

Is call to investigate New Black Panthers doomed from the start?
To which the...readership weighed in, in column comments and on social media sites where the link was shared, with a not unexpected reaction: Basically, don’t hold my breath—nothing will come of it. It will be ignored. [More]Today's Gun Rights Examiner column asks what would have happened if those pursuing the truth in Fast and Furious had listened to the naysayers at the beginning and at every step along the way.

The Cutting Edge
March 26, 2012: Knife Rights' Georgia Knife Preemption Bill SB432 must be scheduled for a vote in the next three days or it will not become law.If you're from Georgia, do it and pass it on. Now.
It is critical for you to take a moment and call the office of Georgia's Speaker of the House David Ralston and POLITELY request that he "please schedule SB432 for a vote as soon as possible." That's all the message you need to leave.

Which is proof that Mike Lupica doesn't know everything that happened now, but he still presumes to dictate we all be like "New York, which has the toughest and best gun laws in the country."
Of course he knows better. But like all fanatics, if he faces the truth, he'll have to face truths about himself.
Better to blame "America's gun culture."
Nice to see ol' Mike is still posting Gravity's Rainbow polls. What a dishonest wretch. And the New York Daily News lets him get away with it--hell, they love it.

Using Gross Logic
We can begin by making our voices heard to defeat the George Zimmerman Armed Vigilante Act. [More]
If we're going to do guilt by association (remembering no legal guilt for Zimmerman has been established at this time), then Minister King Samir "Kill Some Crackers and Their Babies" Shabazz is the Brady Campaign.
After all, just like Dan Gross & Co., the King's court rushes to judgment without all the facts under the promise that "No Guns" will "Stop the Killing!"
As an aside, if Gross is the best the Bradys can do, that's just wonderful. So far their vaunted new advertising professional is making Paul Helmke look like the paragon of effectiveness.

It’s good that we don’t see opportunists and haters showing up in Mississippi, jumping to conclusions before all the facts have been established, proclaiming guilt without weighing the evidence, but stirring up racial animosity and threatening violence anyway due solely to the skin color of the men in these reports. The Prime Directive
He could have said: We understand that a U.S. senator’s first duty is to represent the people of his state and that their interests occasionally might conflict with those of a special interest group such as ours. Rush to judgment on George Zimmerman reminiscent of mob behavior
“If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon,” President Barack Obama felt compelled to toss into the spreading flames of divisiveness.Today's Gun Rights Examiner report notes that ginning up the mob has certain advantages those who crave control can rely on.
Curiously, as Obama’s political base in "stand your ground"-free Chicago prepares for a Trayvon Martin march today, the names of last weekend’s 10 dead/49 wounded seem destined for obscurity. Evidently these lacked an important exploitable factor. [More]

I've been occupied with other priorities and haven't had time to weigh in on this case, but do note the antis are dancing in the blood with all their might in order to kill "stand your ground" and to keep it from spreading.
Here's the thing--Workman asks a good question: "Was ‘SYG’ law even relevant?"
I've been marginally watching this from the sidelines and here's a sneaking suspicion I can't shake: I’ve read officials aren’t prosecuting him saying they can't because of stand your ground laws that need to be changed. I’m wondering if that’s a cynical strategy on the part of prosecutors who are hostile to anything making their burden of proof more difficult to overcome—it seems they very well could charge and prosecute the guy—who followed and confronted the teenager after being specifically told not to by the 911 dispatcher. I’m suspecting the decision to not prosecute is a calculated legal and political exploitation of the situation.

My parents are elderly. My Dad is incapacitated. My Mom is overwhelmed. We kids take it on ourselves to involve ourselves in their bills and finances--as well as everything else--to make sure they're taken care of. There are no surprises. My sister flies in from AZ every several weeks. My other sister...you get the picture.

This Day in History: March 20
The only public intelligence I have to communicate, is that the great and progressive depreciation of the paper currency had introduced such disorder and perplexity into public affairs, for the present, and threatened to load the United States with such an intolerable burden of debt, that Congress have thought it expedient to convert the 200,000,000 of dollars now in circulation into a real debt of 5,000,000, by establishing the exchange at 40 for 1...[More]

Vanderboegh Medical Update
He had a rough night last night and is exhausted. Evidently he got up in the middle of the night completely out of it and was taking tubes out of himself and wandering the hall. The good news is they did some sort of test on him and he's not leaking.
It's a tough balance--he wants back into things and that acts as a great motivator, but there is only so much he can do--a spirit is willing but flesh is weak kind of dilemma.
I repeat: Hold up on emails and Sipsey Street comments. The guy already has more than enough to exhaust himself with.

Mask coming off coordinated administration deception on guns
Still, the deceivers--including "Authorized Journalist," entertainment media and public education co-conspirators--have done an unintentional service for proponents of the right to keep and bear arms: By their own words they have discredited citizen disarmament proponents who do their bidding. [More]Today's Gun Rights Examiner report notes an unintended consequence the treasonous liars have given us that is just begging to be exploited.
The Wearin' o' the Green
Gunfire erupted as throngs were celebrating a mild St. Patrick’s Day along a downtown canal in Indianapolis, and at least five teenagers were wounded, two critically, police said. [More]
I want to share some comparative revelry: I had me gun-owning relatives over and the [Irish heritage] wife prepared corned beef and cabbage with potatoes and soda bread.
Well, we opened up some bottles for a wee nip and did a bit o' celebratin', and me with all kinds o' guns includin' assault weapons available--the kind that some would call weapons o' war with no legitimate purpose but to kill as many people as possible while spray firing from the hip mowing down innocents with that shoulder thing that goes up...and guess what happened?
We all had a lovely time, and enjoyed each others' conversation and companionship.
The Cutting Edge
The Georgia House Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee hearing on SB432 will be Tuesday, March 20th. SN432 is Knife Rights' Knife Law Preemption bill that would repeal all local knife ordinances more restrictive than state law...Once again, we need your help to get this bill passed. [More]Shred that patchwork quilt.
Imposing Fundamentalist Beliefs Under Force of State Arms
"It was the most terrifying day of my life," Goddard said...No it won't. Notice he doesn't cite all those off-campus incidents where his fears have come true. "Gun free zones" are what attract monsters. Note his fellow brainwashees, the "Authorized Journalists" refer to him as an "anti-violence advocate," even though his "solution" guarantees continuation of exact opposite results.
"It will greatly increase the number of shootings, the number of bullets flying on a college campus. I fundamentally don't believe guns have a place on a college campus," Goddard said. [More]
Don't worry, Colin. Just get behind Alyssa here. She'll protect you from the bad men.

Public Stigma
That's what they want. [More]
The Attorney Brainwasher says he wants gun owners "cowering" like cigarette smokers.
Not me:
In your face, monopoly of violence bigots!
The Attorney Brainwasher says he wants gun owners "cowering" like cigarette smokers.
Not me:
I am a gun owner and I live a gun owner lifestyle.
I don't know if I was born with a tendency to be this way, or if it was an acquired disposition. All I know is, I don't see why I should be forced to change. Truth be known, I like owning guns, and am happy with who I am. I hope I suffer no repercussions by "coming out of the safe," but I just can't hide the truth any longer.
We gun owners have been living and working among you. Our kids go to school with yours. We may be your doctor, or minister, or your child's teacher. We may even work in city administration, or the courts, or on the police force. And we are sick of being abused for simply being who we are, all because of hoplophobic prejudice and fear. We don't see any reason why we should have to put up with it any more.
In your face, monopoly of violence bigots!
Meanwhile, Over in the Halls of Higher Learning...
Student leaders fear funding for gun storage could come from tuition [More]
Do these brainwashees really think that's "the price" they'll pay "to keep weapons out of classrooms"?
How to Stop East Bay Violence
Spurred by former Supervisor Mary King, Alameda County outlawed firearms on county property in response to concerns about a spate of gun-related violence across the East Bay at the time. [More]Oh, well, as long as there was a spate, that seems like a pretty good reason for monopoly of violence extremists not to trust you and me.

We're the Only Ones Broadcasting Enough
Our sources say it was on an open channel that could be heard by not only the 30 to 35 officers working that precinct. But by anybody with a police scanner. [More]Good grief.

Why, Oh Why?
Why the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives did not arrest Celis-Acosta immediately is not clear. He was their prime suspect and the subject of secret wiretaps approved by the Department of Justice. [More]Yeah, gee, that's a real mystery, that is.
Oh, I know! Because if we let him go and make no attempt to follow, we'll catch the big fish!
Do you believe there are actually right wing conspiracy theorists who are so paranoid they don't buy that explanation?
Evidence Submission
...the pistol stampede is snowballing everywhere...letting multitudes walk around with deadly killing power...The ban on carrying mow-'em-down assault weapons was dropped...[More]
Yep. Brainwashees, all right.

ATF agents put careers on line to report management abuses
Tellingly, and in spite of the personal risks, with documented examples of retaliation endured, they pledge [with emphasis in the original]:Today's Gun Rights Examiner exclusive report reveals an unmet challenge, gives another reason why Republicans aren't treating things more critically and urgently, and shows how self-serving those trying to derail things are. This really is important information that the "Authorized Journalists" will completely ignore. If it's going to become more widely known, that's up to the willingness of each of us to help disseminate the link.
The authors of this action will testify before Congress or meet with the Director without the benefit of counsel and will not invoke their right to the attorney client privilege if the agency heads will do the same. The truth remains the truth negates the need to hide behind legal representation. Also tellingly: They demonstrate their motives are not partisan...[More]
Vanderboegh Medical Update
I spoke with Mike again this morning when he called me from the Intensive Care Unit at Trinity Medical Center in Birmingham.
He took four steps yesterday and will be walking again today. In a milestone for gastrointestinal surgery recovery, he did want me to share that he has managed to...uh...expel methane twice now, and he dedicated the first occurrence to Eric Holder and the second to Little Jimmy Vann.
And he read a newspaper for the first time after surgery. He hurt himself laughing when he found out Defense Secretary Leon Panetta ordered U.S. Marines in Afghanistan to disarm for his visit, and wonders if perhaps he's feeling a bit guilty about that Constitutional oath he took...
Now for my reminder: Hold up on the emails and trying to post comments over at Sipsey Street. Have mercy on the guy, because you know he'll try to address every one, and we need to help him rest and recover. Our inputs can wait.
If you want to communicate with him:
Support can still be sent via the donation button at Sipsey Street Irregulars, and to P.O. Box 926, Pinson, AL 35126. He’ll be in the hospital for some time, but flowers are not allowed in ICU. Cards can be sent to him via Trinity Medical Center, 800 Montclair Road, Birmingham, AL 35213.
And it looks like we have someone interested in Mike's health reports:
