Crossing the Line

Malloy and his anti-American toady Lawlor have just made things utterly simple for us. They have announced that they will be answering the question for us, this "Where to draw the line," with their own tyrannical actions. Like heedless children playing a game they scarcely understand, they have declared their solution in bloody crayon upon the wall. They will draw the line for us. [More]
Vanderboegh notes who has determined where it will be drawn.

Boy, ministers then sure were different than the "Faiths United Against Guns" Prozi stooges of today, weren't they?

Election ‘Victory’ Means Work for Gun Owners Just Beginning

If the most important gun-rights leader in your life is not the one reading these words — that is, you — it’s time you reconsidered why that is. [More]
The Shooters' Log published my midterm election postmortem.  And no, I didn't select the photo or its caption.

Potential Holder replacement requires intensive scrutiny, resolve to score vote

If Lynch does get the nod, it’s incumbent upon activist gun owners to demand getting some specific answers, and not to be put off by weasel words and “I believe in the Second Amendment” equivocation – hell, even Barack Obama says that, right before showing everyone his big “but.” If we can’t get assurances, the only acceptable course for the Senate to take is to reject her, and for that to happen, we can’t stand still for NRA to cheese out on us like they did with Holder. If Lynch turns out to be just another apparatchik, gun owners must demand, as they have with other nominees like Sotomayor, Kagan and Murthy, that not just the confirmation vote, but also the vote to bring it out of committee and onto the floor, be scored. And this time, the impact actually ought to mean more than a measly half-grade reduction. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner report notes a suggested new boss looks suspiciously like the old boss. Hey, who wants to bet if she is put forward and gets some serious opposition that the Prozis will exploit her name to play the race card?

So naturally, the antis want anyone who feels that way to die, and are even eager to help kill us.

Really.

Go read Kurt's piece. He not only explains, he shows.

Kind'a makes me want to go have a "national conversation on guns" and maybe even offer up a "compromise" or two in the name of "common sense." Either that or tell them to f*** off and come show me what they're made of.

How 'bout you?

Won't You Reconsider?

No. [More]

Holder's 'idiot' comment shows another progressive contradiction

No, all they wanted to do was find out who the idiots were who thought it would be cool to violate U.S. and Mexican laws by allowing illegal arms shipments to be handed off to murderous cartels so that guns could be recovered at violent crime scenes – meaning found lying on the ground after people had been killed – and then used as fodder to demand more citizen disarmament in this country. All they wanted to do is determine who was responsible for authorizing an illegal operation that has, to date, resulted in untold numbers of dead, with more hits yet to come. As for “idiot cronies,” by default those must include justice-seeking family survivors of murdered Border Patrol agent Brian Terry. [More]
My latest JPFO Alert notes if every day is Opposite Day for "progressives," and if a "progressive" calls you an "idiot," why that must mean... say, wait a minute. That must also mean Holder isn't sincere about his outrage over U.S. guns going to Mexico!

Hot Off the Presses

The January 2015 issue of GUNS Magazine, featuring, among other things, my updated "Rights Watch" column dealing with the Shaneen Allen ordeal in New Jersey (p.60), is now available at finer newsstands throughout the Republic.

If you see one that carries gun magazines but not this one, ask 'em why not.  If you see one that doesn't carry gun magazines at all, shop someplace else.

Now I gotta figure out why my scanner isn't picking up orange and substituting it with pallid pink...

Rotten to the Corps Redux

We talked briefly about the Army Corps of Engineers as it relates to usurping its proper role as subordinate to civil authority in RKBA matters.  Now they're continuing to play at being stooge bureaucrats who view their function as controllers of the waters, which, if true, ought to make them liable for all damages from floods.

Here's the thing. You can sign a petition through a group or you can cut out the middleman and add your thoughts to the official record.

I've got no problem with groups that give us strength through organization and serve the vital function of monitoring developments and mobilizing us when need be, and I'm not disparaging CFACT, merely providing an alternative.  On the other hand, I have significant problems with "groups" that do nothing but siphon off energy and funds that could be put to actual practical use.

Not at all.  You don't let an incident of gun abuse change your mind on RKBA.  Same goes with car abuse.

Private Letters

At a daily briefing for reporters, White House spokesman Josh Earnest said he cannot discuss private correspondence between the president and other world leaders. [More]
Well thank goodness it was all private. Allah (blessed be His name) forbid "the most transparent administration in history" would be hiding anything from the public.

"Josh Earnest." I think I've remarked before that the very name is an oxymoron and the embodiment of Opposite Day "progressivism."

594 Myths

Since we know Bloomberg & Co. intend to repeat what they just did in Washington in other states, the time is now -- not when they've got the media saturated -- to make information like this go viral.  [More]

It's also way past time to call the antis' bluff on only wanting "background checks" by daring them to promote a method to ensure prohibited persons are excluded from lawful gun sales where no information identifying either gun buyers or what they purchased needs to be collected.

They won't of course, which means this is one more way their lies can be exposed.

A Right to Rebellion Redux

The Daily Caller picked up my latest GUNS Magazine piece. [More]

Stonewalled

We found that a lot of the background regarding this emerging controversy was anonymously posted by ATF insiders on the blogs of gun rights activists Mike Vanderboegh of Sipsey Street Irregulars and David Codrea of Examiner.com. So my producer and I contacted Vanderboegh and Codrea, who were in direct contact with some of the principal players. [More]
Mike notices some honorable mentions in Sharyl Attkisson's new book.

Points of order: No ATF insider ever posted here or at Sipsey. All information received was vetted and posted by Mike and me -- we don't turn over the keys to the car. I don't know where she got that idea. Also, yes, she posted a request on CUATF, but I passed along her request along with Vanderboegh's recommendation in order to encourage the decision to speak with her.

Some day, all the emails will come out.

The last time I brought up the subject of recognition, a toxic comment poster accused me of whining. Pretty snottily, too.

No, what I'm doing is trying to set the record straight, correct an injustice and give credit where due.  If the "critic" had been paying attention, he'd know that's something I do every day, with and for all kinds of people and subjects. If anyone thinks I can't do the same for myself and Mike on occasions when I see the truth being further buried -- on my own blog and when no one else will -- then that's just too damn bad.

The Calm Before the Storm?

The affirmation of the Malloy administration in Connecticut, especially, says Mr. Vanderboegh, raises new questions about what the returning governor is planning to do about gun owners who fail to register their semiautomatic rifles and large magazines under a new law signed by Governor Malloy last year. [More]
With Everytown and NRA each crowing, Mike points out the huge elephant in the room neither one wants to even acknowledge, let alone talk about.

Speaking of Connecticut, he could use a hand getting there.

It's time -- way past time -- for everyone who gets value from Mike's work to step up to the plate and return some.

Is Facebook Deleting Gun Pages?

I've seen some complaints that they are.

We know guns and other items are verboten there in terms of commercial advertising.

Also be aware of their policy concerning "people discussing the private sale of regulated items."

Names of pages I've seen discussions about, like "Southern Firearms Trader" and "Tennessee Firearms Buy Sell Trade," seem to indicate being close to the line. Thing is, there's no way to reconstruct what they did or said, and even if I could get a synopsis, there's no way a big outfit like Facebook would respond to a specific inquiry to get a complete picture.  Plus, I'm not clear on whether or not some groups have just changed their accessibility to "secret."

I'm kind of at a loss on what to do next except to say if you use social media, follow the rules, and if you believe you've been wrongly punished, I don't know what you can do except make it known.

There is a conservative alternative-- but until more people join and actively participate, its a lot more limited, and right now, Facebook still can be exploited. If it starts deleting gun rights advocacy and other liberty groups, that will be another issue altogether.

And no, ceding an entire area of operation and squandering opportunities is not an answer.

Domestic Enemy

My Man Mitt, natch. [More]

How many more times does he need to betray us before gun owners get it?

It's like the Republicans just can't wait to get their @$$es handed to them in 2016.

If Only We'd Fielded a Democrat!

Former U.S. Rep. Christopher Shays, a GOP moderate who represented Fairfield County for 21 years in Congress, said the GOP could have taken the gun-control issue off the table by nominating McKinney. "Our party is so hurting," Shays said. "You don't let one group determine who a candidate should be when gun control is a non-existent issue compared to what our state is faced with. We're losing jobs and we're losing wealth." [More]
Yeah, right, McKinney.  Does this fool think he'd have gotten anywhere near as close as Foley with gun owners sitting out the election?

Besides, since when do unalienable rights matter, compared to selling out?

Keep thinking it's a non-existent issue, Shays, you total enemy.  Funny, how "legitimate news media" presents itself as the arbiter of what's "moderate."

Reese family sentenced to time served, probation and fines

In spite of the prosecutor asking for five years, Judge Robert C. Brack ruled the family, with no prior criminal record, did not pose a threat and that probation was appropriate. Because the convictions are for felonies rather than misdemeanors, which the family had unsuccessfully moved to vacate, they are now considering their legal options. As convicted felons, they are prohibited from owning firearms by federal law. [More]

In January 2011, journalists David Codrea and Mike Vanderboegh picked up the Gunwalker story from CleanUpATF.org. They began to investigate and report their findings as well as precipitate a Senate Judiciary Committee inquiry into the matter led by U.S. Senator Charles Grassley (R-IA). Codrea and Vanderboegh have zealously attempted to publicize the issue ever since. Their hard work finally paid off when Fox News started to report the story and CBS began a full length investigation. [More]

Be Careful Who Your Friends Are

I got a Facebook "friend" request from some woman I'd never heard of.  I get those from time to time, often scammers, some suggesting a virtual "relationship," but this one only had a photo of the person in question, with no other information. Before confirming the request, I noticed she had one friend, and when I clicked to go see his page, his top post bragged about impregnating our wives and mothers to create more anchor babies.

The moral of this story is, don't just trust that a friend request means the person actually wants to be your friend. I know for most this will sound kind of "No, Duh!" basic, but you might be surprised how many well-meaning people end up with regrets for not doing even a basic check.

We have plenty of enemies out there, who want to disrupt things just because of what we believe in. There's a myth that a vampire cannot cross your threshold unless you invite him in.  Make sure anyone you do is not bothered by symbols of virtue.

Document dump shows State had a hand in 'Fast and Furious' redactions

Here, just put your head in this noose...

Gosh -- "progressive" developments that are supposed to serve us end up enslaving us.  Where have we seen that happen before?

Reporting the News We Want You to Know About

Hey, nobody's noticing us! [More]

Welcome to the party, pals. This gets only two hits on a Google "News" search, and one of them is from AmmoLand.

For what it's worth, I covered that story, before you did, actually, but it's not exactly like I'm "authorized" or "legitimate" or even "real."

Judged as Having No Appeal

At least for gun owners... [More]

GRNC says "Act now to keep a gun control activist from potentially deciding important cases on topics related to your right to keep and bear arms."

Speaking of Republicans

If the Senate does shift, it won't be time to relax -- our work will just be beginning, with these statist fossils thinking they now have a mandate. [More]

And no, warning gun owners of the perils of a renewed Democrat Senate majority is not a contradiction.  If a fist is coming for your face, your immediate concern is to block it.  You address the next threats as they present themselves.

Don't Vote Republican...

And remember, with "progressives," every day is Opposite Day.

Armed American Radio Tonight

Here's tonight's lineup from host Mark Walters:
Alan Gottlieb. NRA spokesperson Cat Mortensen. Champion long range tactical shooter and Trigger Time TV hosts Melissa Gilliland and her husband, Army sniper hero MSG Jim Gilliland, credited with longest kill shot in U.S. history. Jim and Melissa also own Shadow 6 consulting. You and George.
That would be me and George "Mad Ogre" Hill for those of you who aren't regular listeners.

With the election coming up, we should have some good discussions, meaning why not set the DVR on "Record" for competing entertainment programs, and get/share the more important information tonight?

Find a station near you or listen via live streaming through the AAR website.

Visconti Withdraws from Race

Endorses Foley. [More]

Confirmed.

Good. He did the right thing. Let's hope he did it in time.

Because his name will still be on the ballot, it is imperative to get this news to every Connecticut gun owner. That means it's imperative for you to help spread the word to any you know.

Today's Five-Minute Activism

From Peter J. Gould:
Helping make a difference is easy! Just click through to the video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVIKV3eO68A and watch it all the way through (less than 3 minutes). That increases the view count. Click the thumbs-up icon right there on the YouTube page if you enjoyed it (we think you will!). Then take the above link and share it everywhere you can think of! Facebook page, Twitter, pro-2A groups you belong to, anywhere you can think of, and encourage others to do the same. The more views, the better. We still have today AND tomorrow to get a LOT more views!
The backstory is here.

We have a final push to accomplish and not much time to do it in.

E-book arms Americans with practical health advice

What Khanna prescribes is absolutely consistent with the personal responsibility and accountability maxims of gun ownership. And as with the gun issue, those who do not and will not control themselves create points of entry for those who demand to control us all. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner report notes, just like with the gun issue, there are plenty ready to exploit those who will not control themselves as "justification" for controlling all of us.

Senate Flip Key to Securing Gun Rights

Not surprisingly, the gun issue figures prominently in key Senate races. There are six of them Republicans need to capture in order to gain a majority and oust Harry Reid from his position of power. [More]
My newest entry on The Shooters' Log notes an immediate threat that must be dealt with now. My title seems, in retrospect, a bit misleading. It's key to getting us into a position where we can begin to secure gun rights, and that will demand a lot more from each of us than merely voting for admittedly flawed candidates on Tuesday.

History Repeats Itself

Since that time, I have been trying to find a "mainstream" journalist to pursue that story, but my last hope of that apparently failed today. I am certain of my sources, for they are some of the same people who guided me through the Fast and Furious scandal with unerring accuracy. No one else, it seems, is interested in the possibility that the governor's designated "gun czar" may have been a Soviet agent of influence (or, at least, was once investigated as such). [More]
Don't worry, Mike. If and when it gains wider notice, I'm sure your role in exposing it will be ignored.

In the mean time, those in Connecticut may want to consider their options.
