I came across this relatively unknown Heinlein nonfiction piece by chance. It's an excellent read, and an excellent insight into our own "free press" and its co-dependent relationship with the power elites. [More]
I bring it up because I see our major networks, authorized by the FCC to broadcast over public airways under the assumption that this serves the public good, have colluded to black out revelations about Hillary as recounted by an insider who knew her for years.

I'm working on an Oath Keepers piece I plan to post today about how independent efforts to bypass sanctioned gatekeepers with information they suppress are being further stymied by elite interests. They want what we know limited to the pravda, the whole pravda, and nothing but the pravda.

NRA ILA and Rights Don't Mix
Chris Cox, the executive director for the National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action, told a national television audience Donald Trump was wrong to suggest the shooting in Orlando could have been prevented, at least in part, if patrons to the nightclub Pulse had been allowed to carry weapons – that drinking alcohol and concealed carrying just don’t mix.
“No one thinks that people should go into a nightclub drinking and carrying firearms,” said Cox, during an interview on “This Week” with ABC. “That defies common sense. It also defies the law.” [More]Well, gosh, if the Vulcan Chessmaster thinks it's logical to parrot gun-grabber talking points, who are those of us who believe the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed, but we should all be held accountable for our actions, to argue?

All it took to attain one was a driver’s license (the one we used was from out of state) and a few minutes to wait for the background check to clear. We signed state-issued proof of sale documents that asked whether we were felons or drug addicts, and where we lived. [More]First of all, what's with the royal "we"? That sounds like a "straw purchase." Who bought the gun and how does someone with an out-of-state DL do that and then have Andy just walk out with it?
And then there's this:
We attempted to return the AR-15 to the shop where we purchased it. Despite having a return policy, they refused. So we opted to turn the gun over to Orlando police, who said they would have it destroyed. So they filled out sec. 11.a. on the 4473 knowing they had no intention of buying the gun for themselves?

I am curious to know the estimated amount of ammo Mateen probably carried into The Pulse, how much it weighed and how he could manage the crowd all by his lonesome. We are debating this and I have no idea other than a guess. Please help. Maybe you can blog about how a lone wolf could kill so many and hold his position over three hours.I'm afraid all I can do is guess as well -- and I expect crime scene information is going to be closely controlled. In terms of how much ammo, in that closed space it would seem the number of magazines needed ought not be too cumbersome or weighty. In terms of how he could hold his position, I'd attribute much of the crowd's reaction to "trauma and the freeze response." That and herdthink.

And if you worry about that, or even mention it, you're paranoid. Just ask Andrew Rosenthal:
Let’s be absolutely clear. This is not just about bigotry. The mass arrest and forced movement of large populations has been an instrument of genocide throughout history. That is how the Turks committed genocide against Armenians in the early 20th century, how the United States government decimated some Native American tribes and how Stalin killed millions of his own citizens.Really? How did they do that?
You know, by doing this first:
Clinton did not mention the simple fact that if we stopped selling guns today, there would still be too many. The only real solution is to reduce the number of weapons in circulation, but no politician, including Clinton, wants to talk about that. That means we have to keep the goal of confiscation under the table -- for now.

It can't be argued that every chopstick owner is law-abiding -- until they're not. Still, for those inclined to demand commonsense chopstick safety laws, we can't forget the truism that anyone who can't be trusted with chopsticks can't be trusted without a hokannin.
