Just Kidding Around

We talked about this "For the Children" gun-grabber last week.

And now, as the late Paul Harvey used to say, the rest of the story:

35-year-old Tony Navarette, a “rising star” in the Arizona Democrat party, was arrested Thursday evening and charged with a felony described as “knowingly engaging in intercourse or oral sex with a minor.” ... The minor victim was only 12 or 13 years old at the time the crimes occurred.

And the sick thing is, voters in his Democrat-dominated district would still elect him again over a Republican.

Providing they don't punt without comment again. Because if he's right, the country would explode, and that's the last thing the string-pullers want until they're the ones controlling the demolition.

This was released in early June, and naturally, no one in the DSM or even in the Republican party will touch it, and the "official" judgment is anyone who questions the election results is a nutjob extremist.

Here's a technical question for those of you who understand Martian, which is what the numbers on this video seem like to me: Is the disguised expert right? (The major flaw I see is that by hiding his identity, we have no way of ascertaining his qualifications and motives, which could be to act as a spoiler from the inside if what he's saying can be debunked.)

Here's a legal question for those of you who understand a more convoluted language: Why wouldn't an attorney for defendants who took the Capitol protest into the building introduce all the documented claims to, if not dismiss the charges, at least mitigate the sentences? Can you imagine if a judge ruled it admissible and it was found to be true?

Not to be a naysayer, but I'm not holding my breath. Time and again we've seen folks like Sydney Powell, Jovan Pulitzer, and the like come forward with Kraken releases and  "bombshell revelations" and the end result is "Where's the beef?"

That's not a criticism of them. It's an observation on how when it comes to the totalitarian-minded, evidence doesn't matter because there are no rules but theirs.

Say it's all true. What would those behind it not do to keep that from coming out to the general cognizance? And how many of "our countrymen" would be fine with that?

Members Make Case to Intervene in New York Action Against NRA

The motion, filed by NRA members Frank Tait and Mario Aguirre, seeks to ensure that the membership is not held accountable for the actions of association officers and “to protect their rights as individuals and as NRA members under the U.S. and New York constitutions as well as applicable New York statutes.” [More]

Letitia James has her interests and Wayne LaPierre has his. So who's looking out for the interests of members caught in the middle?

Misdirected

There don’t seem to good odds of a director explaining to the court how re-electing corrupt officers (after their corruption has been public knowledge for years), not even asking them if the charges were true, not investigating, purging directors who did ask, etc., was action in “good faith,” reasonably believed to be in NRA’s best interests, that fairly entitles them to reimbursement by the corporation to which they owed a fiduciary duty. “Why didn’t you even question LaPierre?” “why did you shout down Journey?” can’t be answered with “if I did, the Nominating Committee wouldn’t re-nominate me” or “Marion Hammer would get nasty to me.” But without those answers, that $5 million fund cannot be used to indemnify anyone. Corpus Delicti

As Josh Blackman and James C. Phillips once noted, for example, if you checked a corpus for uses of the verb “to read,” you’d probably find far more examples of people reading newspapers than of people reading street signs — but the low frequency of street-sign references would tell you nothing of importance. It would merely reveal that people read newspapers more than they read street signs, or at least more frequently discuss reading newspapers. A law forbidding people “to read,” or a constitutional provision giving them a right to, would presumably apply to street signs (and nutritional labels and ancient scrolls) just as much as it applied to newspapers. The Incredible Shrinking Man

 Message from a Facebook friend:

FB is playing with your numbers of shares, probably to demoralize us conservatives who have lots of friends. For example, I have shared all of your Ammoland articles in the last several months, most of the time to two places, my timeline and elsewhere. They are still posted, yet when I look at your shares in your timeline, you only have a few shares, and my shares are some of the ones that do not show. DOJ Backs ATF... and Stigmatizing Gun Owners, were shared by me but they do not reflect in your shares on your page! Our articles, especially yours, are being shared by lots of people but you cannot see them!

Thanks for the feedback on this-- it does not surprise me-- Google changed their algorithm so my articles that used to appear under their "News" tab don't start showing up until the second or third page.

A regular Google search on my name in quotation marks, which is what I use to see how the work is spreading, used to yield >100K returns. The "News" tab used to return @ 20K. Currently, I'm just over 19K in the general search and 1K in "News."

It also shows under my AmmoLand articles, which used to routinely reflect thousands of "shares," but of late generally don't exceed the low hundreds.

Despite that, as always, there is only one thing I ask of the regulars here, whether you do it using "social media" or some other way, like forums and emails.

The Wrong Man

Former ATF Colleagues Write Letter Opposing Biden Director Nominee: ‘Wrong Man for the Job’ [More]

Fine and good, he's an unqualified dick, but I'm more interested in the agents who say he's a fraud.

The People Have Spoken

Background checks related to handgun sales increased over 2,300% during July [More]

Because, as the grabbers continually remind us, Americans want more gun controls.

Streamlining the Controls

The new law streamlines the FOID card system, allowing Illinois State Police to create electronic records. [More]

They say that like it's a good thing.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around fingerprinting being a victory.

Identifying the Problem

Rep. Nancy Mace cleverly gets fleeing TX Dem to recognize ID necessity in daily life [More]

The problem is that those who would disenfranchise the rest of us are liars and that those who will not think it through are foolish cultists.

I Have Some Good News and Some Bad News

Pandemic driving gun, ammo sales, police and firearm instructors being left high and dry [More]

If it diminishes "blue state" disarmament enforcement capabilities, what's the problem?

I question the correlation/causation presumption here. I think the demand has more to do with Americans seeing how Democrat rule is making everything more dangerous.

Won't You Be My Neighbor?

"It" could never happen here, right?

I see stuff like this and I keep coming back to the story in Exodus where Moses goes up to the mountain and when he comes back, the idiots have fashioned a golden calf. That always baffled me as a child, thinking they'd seen the plagues of Egypt, the parting of the Red Sea, manna from Heaven... and I was thinking that such forgetfulness and ingratitude just didn't ring true with the way people behave in real life.

Show you how sheltered I was -- or at least the type of values my parents made sure I was immersed in.

Then we see their latter-day counterparts who have seen the miracle that is -- or was -- this country, with so much right in spite of all the wrong that the rest of the world wants to come here for all the benefits our way of life has produced-- and they all want those benefits but demand to tear down the foundations and change the ways into what demonstrably cannot produce anything but renewed bondage, poverty, and misery.

There's no shortage of evil people eager to impose that bondage. They all want our guns. And that's also fine with the idiots in this video who signed the paper.
