Hauge has attempted to criminally prosecute the gun club's Executive Officer three times already, but each time the charges were dismissed by a judge. Hauge has appealed. TRENTON, October 14 [1778.]

Since our last several British deserters came to town from the enemy at Hackinsack.

Among the Officers who fell into the hands of the enemy in Col. Baylor’s late disaster, at Old Tapan, were Captain Swan, Doctor Evans, junior surgeon, Lieut. Randolph, and three Cornets. Captain Stith being suddenly surrounded by the enemy’s horse and foot, and seeing no probable way of getting off, called out for quarter; but they, contrary to the rules of war and to every sentiment of humanity, refused his request, called him a damn’d rebel, and struck him over the head, with a sword—which fired him with such indignation, that he bravely fought his way thro’ them, leaped over a fence, and escaped into a morass. Lieut. Barret got off on horseback; and Lieut. Morrow with a number of others badly wounded and left on the field as dead, were next morning brought off by a party of the regiment, the remaining part of which is now commanded by Captain Stith. Some of you might want to learn how to navigate a website before jumping to conclusions and getting the anti-GOA lynch mob ginned up--it took me less than a minute to locate this info on the GOA site.

Yeah, but some of those aren't pure gun votes... !!!

Yea! And that's great. In 40 years I've never needed the fire extinguisher in my kitchen either but I'm going to keep it handy anyway. There are many,many places where mass shootings have occurred where it had not happened before. It only takes once. If I knew when I would need to protect my wife,children or myself I wouldn't go there in the first place but since I'm notable to predict the future I will continue to be prepared.

There are good methods to promote a position and bad ways. Overwhelmingly, the community either laughed at, or was upset at the SBOC threats to sue the volunteers who donate their time to put on the fair, and their actions only hurt their position.

Overwhelmingly, fair goers were supportive and positive of the open carriers present.


Being out has proven to be a better strategy for acceptance than remaining in the closet for other groups. It is unfortunate that lawsuits were even mentioned but the promoters and the local police department were conspiring to violate civil rights (a serious Federal crime) by threatening to have people who were exercising their Constitutionally protected, specifically enumerated right to bear arms while in public, and breaking no law, locked in a cage. If reason doesn't prevail, threats to violate civil rights are best dealt with in the courts.

Three different friends in the last 90 days have informed me that while they were target shooting at public ranges in N kalifornia (2 using AR 15's, 1 using an Armalite) that other shooters on the firing line complained - and in one instance called the police because they thought my friends were shooting illegal assault rifles -

In the case where the police were called, the police actually showed up and checked out the rifle. In the other two cases, each person was forced to prove to the satisfaction OF THE OTHER SHOOTER(s) that the guns were not prohibited or that they were licensed

This from persons we would hope would stand up for our rights.

As I have said before, I'm increasingly failing to see the point (of being nice about it)

A Hessian Lieutenant named Juliat had deserted the British on September 12 and joined The Pulaski Legion. He was assigned to the First Troop of Dragoons under Baron Bose. Baron Bose regarded Juliat with contempt for having deserted his post, even if it was with the enemy. Perhaps to get back at Baron Bose or perhaps he was always loyal to the British. One thing about that study author and his methods, though:

Firstly, the plan promotes a report by Dr. Edward Tavss that centers on the field of wildlife management even as Tavss admits that his area of expertise is bio-chemistry. It's similar to a foot doctor reporting on matters of the heart while portraying to his patients that he has the expertise of a cardiologist. Furthermore, the report lacks peer review, a process used by scholars to ensure the integrity of published work related to a particular field of study. The issue here is the absence of credibility.

Tie this all together with the father in New Hampshire whose tenuous Oath Keepers affiliation was exploited by child protective services, along with the merger of DHS with SPLC, and we have a convergence I could not ignore.

Most Congressmen in monthly survey fail on Second Amendment

Most of the politicians surveyed showed similar difficulty understanding the concept of "shall not be infringed." Some thought registration might be a solution against juvenile delinquency.  Others thought "well regulated" applied to "the right of the people" as opposed to a standard of practiced militia discipline. Some engaged in the type of weasel-wording many of us nowadays are all too familiar with, assuring everyone they supported the right to keep and bear arms out of one side of their mouths, then showing them what big "buts" they had out of the other. Forcing the Sheriff to Obey the Law

Remember Leonard Embody?

I know a lot of people have, to put it mildly, disagreements with his methods, but he sure puts himself on the line, and he does things others don't think of--in this case a legal action.  Here's an email where he explains:

NFA weapons are legal within the state of Tennessee. However, to purchase NFA weapons as an individual there is a process one must go through. The weapon must be purchased. The BATFE documents must be filled out. The applicant must be fingerprinted and photographed. Then, the application executed by the local chief law enforcement officer where the applicant resides. The documents are then sent to the ATF with a $200 check and the ATF will usually approve or deny within 2-3 months.

In 2003 Tennessee passed a law public chapter 275 which requires the chief law enforcement officer to execute the nfa documents if a person is not a prohibited person. The law passed with no opposition and is codified as TCA 39-17-1361. The sponsers of the bill were senator Mark Norris and House of rep Ben West. The NRA Darren LaSorte testified infront of the judicial committee as well.

In February this year I bought a suppressor for my handgun. I was fingerprinted and photographed. I delivered the application document to the sheriff of williamson county, jeff long, to execute. He refused. I sent my application to the atf and they denied the application. Under Tennessee law this is a statutory duty and there is no discretion to decide not to execute the document. So, I went to the DA and attorney general. Both refused to force the sheriff to sign as required by law. They also refused to begin the ouster of the sheriff.

I filed a writ of mandamus to force the sheriff to execute the documents last week. This is last option i have to force the sheriff to obey the law.

I think this is an important issue. Does the State have the right to force a sheriff to execute a federal document? It goes right to the heart of the Tenth Amendment. It has everything to do with anti-gun law enforcement who do not follow the law and infringe upon gun rights.

As far as I know Tennessee is the only state which requires cleos to execute nfa documents.

Sen. Norris, Rep. West, the NRA have all been extremely unhelpful. Considering this is their legislation I do not understand why they have not wanted to help.

I have attached a pdf with my pro se complaint, and several documents from attorneys and the atf regarding me and the sheriff.

Here's a follow-up email:

I amend my petition today and also received an answer from the sheriff's attorney today. I attached both. I also attached tca 39-17-1361 and o'neil v lomoy.

The sheriff is a republican. He convinced the county commision to vote against guns in local parks. He is also up for reelection in November, running uncontested. He is a former ADA.

It is amazing the lengths these ant-gun law enforcement will go to to avoid obeying the law. They have notified the attorney general as well. That means they are challenging the constitutionality of this law which requires the sheriff to execute the nfa documents.

As a side note o'neil v lomoy is a federal case where the federal judge stated that the federal gov could not force state officials to sign these documents. In my case it is state law which requires state officials to execute the documents.

I've asked him to post the documents he attached and send me links.  When he does, I'll pass them on.

I've never put much stock in the "he's making us look bad" fear.  As far as I'm concerned, making us look weak is far more problematic.
