Stop Me if You've Heard This One Before

Because your elected officials are afraid of being on the record, leadership protects them by stuffing things they don’t think will pass on its own merits into what is known as the annual omnibus bill, or omni for short. One would think because negotiations have been ongoing for years, politicians would wise-up to the fact no one wants gun control. Rather than listening to you, they would rather stuff VAWA into this upcoming omni and claim they had to vote for it to fund everything our government does. [More]

All the while, self-defense is forbidden.

The "victims" vote for more and reserve a special fear of and contempt for anyone who would try to live armed and free.

This is no way for a civilization to survive.

The amount of economic and business operations tied to the web is staggering. It Says So Right Here -- Except It Doesn't

Researchers have found that states with permitless carry laws have experienced an 11 percent increase in handgun homicide rates after enactment  [More]

Pretty definitive subhead, right?

Except the study he links to specifically notes:

Finally, we were unable to analyze the impact of permitless-carry laws because of the small number of observations. Only 4 states had permitless-carry laws in place during the study period. However, in the past 2 years, an additional 5 states have enacted such laws. Elucidating the impact of permitless-carry laws will require follow-up for the 9 states that now have such laws in effect.

We could get into the whole correlation/causation logical fallacy, the fact that permit holders are significantly more law-abiding than the "Only Ones," that criminals don't obey laws, and that homicides aren't homogeneously distributed throughout the population but concentrated among a hardcore lawless urban element, and that while rates can appear more impactful in lower-population areas, the real numbers in those high-population areas hardly reflect a prohibition success story.

Except there's no need to do that here because once it's been demonstrated this hoplophobic dweeb's either ignorant or lying, why waste any more time on him?

A Conspicuous Absence

WarOnGuns Correspondent Jess got a donation solicitation email from Hung Cao, one of 10 Republicans running to represent Virginia's 10th Congressional District, and asks:

David,   Got a read, vis-a-vis 2A, on this guy?

Without digging any deeper, I note he doesn't consider it an important enough issue to mention it in his website's "Policies" section aside from the briefest of mentions about guns. His version of "the security of a free State" appears to be "Back the Blue" and the standing army, and if he brings RKBA up now, it will be a tactical afterthought.

I can't tell you about the others because I haven't had time to look. I may not do that because the incumbent is a doctrinaire gun-grabber Democrat who won last time by a landslide (56%-43%). We know from the Youngkin campaign that Republican "strategists" view bringing 2A up to the electorate as toxic, so I'm not sure putting more time into this is worth my while.

LaLaLa...I Can't HEAR You...

News flash: Shannon Watts DGAF About YOU [More]

She blocked me a long time ago. She doesn't want other leftists calling her out for siding with globalist corporations against minority plaintiffs. (And for the record, I've expressed doubts about those verdicts but it doesn't matter what I think. If her fellow travelers believed what they say, they'd be demanding her head.)

By the way, if she's blocked you, you can still use the incognito window feature to keep up with her and her useful idiot followers' latest madcap antics/acts of subversion.

Daily Defense Redux

Friday's discussion with Armed American Radio host Mark Walters:

That's His Best Shot?

Peter Ambler, executive director of Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence, said it was "deeply irresponsible" for gun rights advocates to tie their "more guns everywhere" advocacy to the Ukraine crisis. [More]

Spoken like someone desperately trying to change the subject...

I guess when you have no real rebuttal, throwing a ball and hoping the weak-minded will chase after it at least distracts some.

Speaking of Systemic Racism...

Critics accuse the A.T.F.’s acting director, Marvin Richardson, of cozying up to gun industry leaders at a convention in Las Vegas and delaying enacting rules that would outlaw so-called ghost guns...  “A.T.F. needs a top-to-bottom overhaul,” said John Feinblatt, the president of Everytown for Gun Safety, the gun control group funded by former Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg of New York. [More]

So... get rid of the black guy, John?

That's not surprising, considering who you work for.

Bullet Points

An Arizona ammunitions company this week announced that it will send one million bullets to Ukraine following calls from Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelensky for more ammunition. [More]

"Real reporters"!

I also see some complaining about this because of the ammo situation here.

I support it. Real human beings are defending themselves and their homes in real-time. With everything that's been going on around us for years, if you don't have the supplies you deem adequate, that's not on anyone else.

When 'Republicans' No Longer Need You

This bill would include in this prohibition, a misdemeanor conviction for child abuse, elder abuse, carrying a concealed firearm, carrying a loaded firearm in public, permitting the illegal carrying of a firearm in a vehicle, or openly carrying an unloaded handgun, as specified, that occurs on or after January 1, 2023. [More]

What an @$$hole. Sponsored by an enemy inside the gates who decided the electorate had been changed enough so that he could come out of the Democrat closet...

Child abuse will soon be modified to include objecting to CRT or not letting them go to the library for Drag Queen Story Hour. I believe simple corrective swat on the rear is already verboten.

I carried illegally in California for over 25 years because I could not get one of their "permits" to save my life -- literally. In all that time I never hurt a soul, although I did have to display (not point) once.

Meanwhile, the predatory products of their policies will stalk their hunting grounds undeterred.

Profiles in Apathy

GRNC-PVF normally does well raising money to activate gun voters...  But not this year. So far, the response to our efforts has been pathetic. [More]
TINVOWOOT, right? Molon Labe?

I guess those are as good excuses as any for letting others do the work that is appropriate for right here, right now.

We're the Only Ones Vanishing Enough

Talking Turkey

A California mail carrier allegedly beat a turkey to death. Was it self-defense? [More]

Subjects who would cede their birthright to birds? The greasy-lipped masters are laughing like hell.

10 to 1 the loudest voices among outraged neighbors are personally frustrated single mom Democrats where the men knew better than to stick around.

That's Real Reporting!

Two victims have been released from the hospital as of Friday afternoon. Hospital officials said one victim remains in critical condition. [More]

So the shooter is a "victim"?

The lesson here is it took a defender with a gun to stop the aggressor. For some reason, acknowledging that obvious truth really PO's the gun-grabbers.
