One of the best shows ever in our 4.5 year history!I'd fully intended to join the program in the third hour, but my brother had a big family cookout at his place. I called Mark at 7:30 to beg off and he graciously accepted my taking the night off on such short notice (not that they'd miss me with the lineup I knew they had). So while they were having one of their "best shows ever," I was having a damn fine weekend evening, something I think I deserve once in a while.

The whole idea for this column came about when I was approached by a liberty activist, upset because she wanted to attend a gun rights event and they not only had no provisions for younger people, they actually weren’t welcome. I'm not getting why the name and contact info for the FEMA rep was redacted. There is no legitimate reason I can think of to do that, and it makes independently validating this next to impossible. [More]
It's not like we're talking about a whistleblower needing protection here. This was a public employee making a public inquiry. And it can hardly be that the supplier fears they'll be mad at him -- if this is genuine, they're no doubt already irked, their procurement guy being ID'd or not.
All may be as represented here, but until I see a way to check into this, I can't take it too seriously.

While it's easy for internet bloggers to tell Colt, O.F. Mossberg & Sons, Stag Arms and other manufacturers of modern sporting rifles to get out of the state, that is no easy task.No, it's not. Defending freedom never is, and like the overused Spiderman quote goes, with great power comes great responsibility.
Rather than being leaders though, what you're going to see is the gun industry being led. If enough gun owners make the decision they will not give aid and comfort to their enemies by adding to the coffers of anti-gun states -- that is, if they do it in sufficient numbers to affect the bottom line of companies operating behind the lines -- we'll see incentive for movement.
It boils down to how many believe this is a vital line to hold, and organize and spread the word to make it so, and how many choose to remain oblivious and apathetic.
We're the Only Ones Gratuitously Sporting Enough
The lawsuit (“Gun Trouble,” Mobtown Beat, June 6, 2012) claims that detective Erik Socha and Cpl. Anthony Kidwell led raids on the Bords’ home and auto-repair business that were based on a bad warrant “in order to intimidate” David Bord and cause him “economic injury.” The operations also were undertaken “for gratuitous sport rather than for proper law-enforcement purposes,” according to court documents, and Socha and Kidwell, when presented with all the proper firearms paperwork after the raids, said “save it for court,” that the paperwork was “wrong” or “bull***t,” and “words to the effect” that David Bord “would never get his property back.” [More]Just a few bad apples, no doubt. I love the way the one punk thug "spilled his guts" and feels like he's been thrown under the bus.
This story is several month old. I just learned about it from Of Arms and the Law, where Mr. Hardy makes a relevant observation.
