The sentence “we will not comply” is not temporary. It does not have an “if, then” clause. It does not mean “We will not comply until you make us understand that it’s The Law.” Initiative 594 is not constitutional, it is not just, and therefore it is not law. As such, We the People are not bound to follow it; in fact, it is our duty to resist it.

The fundraising groups don't quite know what to do with these people, aside from joining with "progressives" by calling them "extremists." That's because those in it strictly for the liberty don't send out emails to lists asking for money, or selling merchandise, or offering gunprizes to induce people to do the right thing out of covetousness instead of principle, or sending "fax blasts" to stuff the pockets of the spammers, divert resources from the gullible who will then feel like they've done their part, and amuse corrupt legislators in safe districts.

They're not asking people to do anything, especially anything for themselves. They merely set the example of not doing something, in this case, obeying tyrannical edicts. There aren't enough enforcers if more would but realize that and resolve mass defiance is the best way to nullify. They're setting personal examples, regardless if others decide to join them or draw the blinds.

So aren't I just contradicting everything I've ever said about "Profiles in Apathy" and all my complaints about people not lifting a finger?

Hardly. This does not negate the need to do the hard work of electing principled representatives, funding worthy efforts, and getting involved at the grassroots level virtually and in meatspace. This comes after those have been tried and failed. Perhaps that's why some ostensibly on "our side" resent them so. And these people are lifting a lot more than a finger -- they are giving their all.

These are last-ditch efforts by men and women of resolve before the oppressors lash out in violence and fury. When that happens, we'll see how many who have not yet joined them -- whose sole contributions to "the cause" appear to be "Molon Labe" comments -- actually mean what they so casually (and anonymously) declare, and how many have done the requisite work of training and preparing so that they're as ready as they can be for the time of tribulation.

These are the efforts of brave Americans who understand the terrible risks they are  assuming.  When the merciless would-be masters decide "it's time," these are  among the first people they'll conclude they must make examples of to cow other potential rebellious slaves.

Is James Bond Above Cooper’s Rules?

There’s a bit of a debate that’s been going on over at a Facebook post on my James Bond piece. I had my say in the article and typically don’t involve myself much in commenting in order to give everyone else a chance to have their say. Plus, I just don’t have time. That said, there are a few points raised I want to address, then I need to bow out and focus on the priorities demanded by the queue of developing stories.

I will say, the way this one spread surprised me. Invariably, stories I consider important, like ones I break and major media claims as theirs a day or more later, yield mediocre readership returns, and the ones that are just quick asides, that don’t require much research or validation of exclusive information, seem to be the ones that spread. I can’t figure it out.

I’m not going to give a synopsis to explain each of the following responses. If you’re interested, what prompted them is over in the Facebook thread.

Yes, I’m well aware that old Bond posters and most of Hollywood’s portrayal of gun handling was and remains abysmal. In the old days, most people didn't know better. And that doesn't mean we should stand by now and let known gun-grabbers, who call themselves “gun safety advocates” these days, set bad examples – or at least not have fun calling them on being hypocrites. The sad truth is, a certain percentage of idiots play monkey-see/monkey-do and try to pose like that – you can find no shortage of photos on the internet, and I’m calling the antis out for not encouraging their “progressive” friends in Hollywood to realize that by “demanding,” which is what they do best, that they not promote flagrant rules violations -- "for the children" and "if it saves one life." (One point not in the Facebook discussion, but raised in article comments, is that "we have bigger fish to fry."  No one said "we" didn't. That doesn't mean pointing stuff like this out will cause a multi-tasking overload, unless walking and chewing gun are also a challenge.)

As for Bond being "Tier 1," as I recall from reading the books many years ago, the PPK was forced on him by M, and his preferred gun of choice was a jamming-prone Beretta .25. I don’t for a second have reason to believe that was a consideration of the photographer and publicists behind the poster (and that seems borne out by those previous Bond posters). As for the wider argument that operators are above safety rules that apply to us mundanes, I have no specific knowledge of that and would like to see some corroboration from an official source. I’m admittedly not qualified to argue with someone’s superior training, and think the best course to take in debates like this is to produce documentation that others can independently validate.

This is a big part of why establishment Republicans and their plutocrat masters are selling everyone out. Illegal immigration is not the only aspect for which a cultural impact study ought to be required of a government with a prime directive to secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.

Who believes the resulting impacts of this and a "pathway to citizenship" for illegals will work our well for RKBA?  Got anything of credible substance we can test to  validate that conviction?
