If you haven't read Jonathan Mayhew's 1750 sermon trashing the Catholic Church/Church of England dogma of unlimited submission to authority based on self-serving misinterpretation of Romans 13 etc, it's very compelling. The American Revolution likely wouldn't have succeeded or happened without it. Every Christian should read it today. Over the years I've seen many so-called Protestant conservatives online parroting the unqualified obedience doctrine... OBEY. [More]
Been a while since I got into an "angels on the head of a pin" argument...
I'll need to find time to read it thoroughly. What I've seen so far pretty much agrees with a 1747 Philadelphia sermon I cite from time to time:
"He that suffers his life to be taken from him by one who has no authority for that purpose, when he might preserve it by defense, incurs the Guilt of self murder since God has enjoined him to seek the continuance of his life, and Nature itself teaches every creature to defend [it]self."

There's a new school of "thought" being promoted by excuse-makers posing as "reasonable and humane" RKBA advocates that the reason newly enfranchised citizens and their progeny vote Dem is that we're mean to them and we need to do outreach instead of trying to stop the invasion.
I've said "fine on the outreach" since the first time I heard this but don't kid yourself and others by saying it will make a difference until you can come up with credible numbers to show how much it would cost to compete with messaging from the other side, where that money will come from, how effective that would be, and how long it would take -- because by then, the branches of government would be occupied and it would be "game over" for any kind of legislative or judicial recourse. Add to that any messaging would be drowned out by Spanish language media and the "regular" DSM. and anything challenging that, particularly as it pertains to guns, would be censored, deplatformed, and "canceled" by social media "fact-checkers" and the Tech thought cartel.
If you disagree, change my mind. But take the challenge first instead of avoiding it with weasel-worded excuses, like everyone else objecting to it has offered up so far...

Plus, why should "we" fight for people who won't fight for themselves, and especially at the order of a puppet Dotard-in-Chief (it's not like Congress would strap them on and declare war so that they as individuals could be held accountable for the results) who will only allow you arms if you're in his service?
Then recall Washington's admonition about "foreign entanglements."
It boils down to this: Would I be willing to die for this? Would I be willing for my sons to die? If my answer is "No," then I can't very well favor sending you or your sons to die in my place.
Well, I can, but that would make me one of "them."
