This is a placeholder for now because I have not had ads on this blog for years. In case I ever start up again, this will be the policy in effect:
The FTC has some fool nonsense rules about ads on blogs or some such and presumes authority over the First Amendment to compel the unfunded mandate that we who earn ad revenues make some kind of disclosure so you don't think we're getting paid to say nice things about people or God knows what, meaning they must think you're stupid, too. I have had a few ads on this site in the past and may do so again if I think it's worth a try. Combined, I probably couldn't buy a box of good cigars each year, let alone a bottle of George T. Stagg, and that is somehow supposed to compromise my morality to force me to say nice things about products and services I don't mean simply in exchange for filthy lucre. If you believe that, leave now--you're not smart enough to be here. Bottom line, aside from welcoming a sponsor, I will do no posts related to their products or services, or reviews of what they offer.
About "The Only Ones"
The purpose of this feature has never been to bash cops. The only reason I do this is to amass a credible body of evidence to present when those who would deny our right to keep and bear arms use the argument that only government enforcers are professional and trained enough to do so safely and responsibly. And it's also used to illustrate when those of official status, rank or privilege, both in law enforcement and in some other government position, get special breaks not available to we commoners, particularly (but not exclusively) when they're involved in gun-related incidents.
Comment House Rules
Keep them on topic. No spam. No threats against anyone except me. Do not feed trolls--I'll take out the trash. Try to keep it clean. I'm the final arbiter. If you don't like the rules, start your own damn blog.
Link Policy
WarOnGuns reciprocates links with liberty-oriented sites promoting the right to keep and bear arms for all peaceable individuals. If you have linked to me and don't see your site below, it's probably just because I haven't noticed it yet. Shoot me an email via the "Contact Form" (see above in this sidebar) if you want to fix that.
As a general rule I remove links for blogs that have been inactive for over one year.

Letitia James has her interests and Wayne LaPierre has his. So who's looking out for the interests of members caught in the middle?
There don’t seem to good odds of a director explaining to the court how re-electing corrupt officers (after their corruption has been public knowledge for years), not even asking them if the charges were true, not investigating, purging directors who did ask, etc., was action in “good faith,” reasonably believed to be in NRA’s best interests, that fairly entitles them to reimbursement by the corporation to which they owed a fiduciary duty. “Why didn’t you even question LaPierre?” “why did you shout down Journey?” can’t be answered with “if I did, the Nominating Committee wouldn’t re-nominate me” or “Marion Hammer would get nasty to me.” But without those answers, that $5 million fund cannot be used to indemnify anyone. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this issue, and I hope you will continue to contact my office with any future comments or questions. I’m committed to being transparent and accountable with all Arizonans...
That's the last paragraph in a letter to an Arizona constituent objecting to Chipman confirmation from Mark Kelly's office -- it would have been nice if the staffer cared enough to pay attention and include the right boilerplate response instead of their form letter on prescription drugs for seniors.
I wonder which old lady asking about her meds got the gun response...
Dr. Roger Mitchell, the former deputy mayor and medical examiner of the District of Columbia and now the Chief of Pathology at Howard University Medical School, a traditional Black medical school, boldly intimidated and coerced Hennepin County Medical Examiner Dr. Andrew Baker into changing critical conclusory language in his autopsy report on the death of George Floyd. And Baker didn't tell him to go **** himself and then report him instead?
No job is worth your dignity. Speak your mind when appropriate. Never brown-nose. Refuse to be pressured into doing anything you know is wrong. Tolerate no bullying. The worst they can do to you is fire you. On a scale of 1 to 10, compared to a real-life challenge, that barely registers.
Your soul comes first.
I'm just not getting why so many people are evidently incapable of making doing the right thing their default position.

As Josh Blackman and James C. Phillips once noted, for example, if you checked a corpus for uses of the verb “to read,” you’d probably find far more examples of people reading newspapers than of people reading street signs — but the low frequency of street-sign references would tell you nothing of importance. It would merely reveal that people read newspapers more than they read street signs, or at least more frequently discuss reading newspapers. A law forbidding people “to read,” or a constitutional provision giving them a right to, would presumably apply to street signs (and nutritional labels and ancient scrolls) just as much as it applied to newspapers. You'd better believe the evil minds behind the useful "commonsense gun safety" idiots know that truth as well. That's why they hate -- and importantly, fear -- those who will not disarm so.
FB is playing with your numbers of shares, probably to demoralize us conservatives who have lots of friends. For example, I have shared all of your Ammoland articles in the last several months, most of the time to two places, my timeline and elsewhere. They are still posted, yet when I look at your shares in your timeline, you only have a few shares, and my shares are some of the ones that do not show. DOJ Backs ATF... and Stigmatizing Gun Owners, were shared by me but they do not reflect in your shares on your page! Our articles, especially yours, are being shared by lots of people but you cannot see them!
Thanks for the feedback on this-- it does not surprise me-- Google changed their algorithm so my articles that used to appear under their "News" tab don't start showing up until the second or third page.
A regular Google search on my name in quotation marks, which is what I use to see how the work is spreading, used to yield >100K returns. The "News" tab used to return @ 20K. Currently, I'm just over 19K in the general search and 1K in "News."
It also shows under my AmmoLand articles, which used to routinely reflect thousands of "shares," but of late generally don't exceed the low hundreds.

If I wasn't on the trail of something else right now I'd address this in detail. Maybe in a day or so, if somebody else hasn't already beaten me to it.

Which "tea party" would that be? There is any number of email-scamming pretenders to the mantle out there swindling donations from the gullible, and the original "movement" was all over the board on matters of make-or-break importance to principled issue voters, kind of like most Ross Perot supporters, who only knew they didn't like things.
Blaming Trump, who admittedly deserves his portion, is what I would expect from the home of The French Mistake. If this guy had a clue, he'd realize the "various cultural-war issues" ARE about limiting government. If he expects us to subordinate our interests to country club set priorities and elect RINO cultural terraformers, he can just feel our pain -- at the end of it all he may be out of Quislings and political options, but those of us in it for beyond that will still have our guns.
You can hear a man who sounds like Tauk on the recording say, “If you wanted to pay a $500 processing fee where we have to take down the site and remove the mugshot. We could do it later on tonight even.” A PayPal money trail shows $500 paid and accepted by Tauk. [More]

I see stuff like this and I keep coming back to the story in Exodus where Moses goes up to the mountain and when he comes back, the idiots have fashioned a golden calf. That always baffled me as a child, thinking they'd seen the plagues of Egypt, the parting of the Red Sea, manna from Heaven... and I was thinking that such forgetfulness and ingratitude just didn't ring true with the way people behave in real life.

Then we see their latter-day counterparts who have seen the miracle that is -- or was -- this country, with so much right in spite of all the wrong that the rest of the world wants to come here for all the benefits our way of life has produced-- and they all want those benefits but demand to tear down the foundations and change the ways into what demonstrably cannot produce anything but renewed bondage, poverty, and misery.
There's no shortage of evil people eager to impose that bondage. They all want our guns. And that's also fine with the idiots in this video who signed the paper.

I guess limiting who can see it to friendly venues and clued-in "critics" assures nothing but a Rotten Tomatoes top grade and DSM praise, which if you think about it, points to nothing so much as dishonesty and manipulation (surprise).
