This is a placeholder for now because I have not had ads on this blog for years. In case I ever start up again, this will be the policy in effect:
The FTC has some fool nonsense rules about ads on blogs or some such and presumes authority over the First Amendment to compel the unfunded mandate that we who earn ad revenues make some kind of disclosure so you don't think we're getting paid to say nice things about people or God knows what, meaning they must think you're stupid, too. I have had a few ads on this site in the past and may do so again if I think it's worth a try. Combined, I probably couldn't buy a box of good cigars each year, let alone a bottle of George T. Stagg, and that is somehow supposed to compromise my morality to force me to say nice things about products and services I don't mean simply in exchange for filthy lucre. If you believe that, leave now--you're not smart enough to be here. Bottom line, aside from welcoming a sponsor, I will do no posts related to their products or services, or reviews of what they offer.
About "The Only Ones"
The purpose of this feature has never been to bash cops. The only reason I do this is to amass a credible body of evidence to present when those who would deny our right to keep and bear arms use the argument that only government enforcers are professional and trained enough to do so safely and responsibly. And it's also used to illustrate when those of official status, rank or privilege, both in law enforcement and in some other government position, get special breaks not available to we commoners, particularly (but not exclusively) when they're involved in gun-related incidents.
Comment House Rules
Keep them on topic. No spam. No threats against anyone except me. Do not feed trolls--I'll take out the trash. Try to keep it clean. I'm the final arbiter. If you don't like the rules, start your own damn blog.
Link Policy
WarOnGuns reciprocates links with liberty-oriented sites promoting the right to keep and bear arms for all peaceable individuals. If you have linked to me and don't see your site below, it's probably just because I haven't noticed it yet. Shoot me an email via the "Contact Form" (see above in this sidebar) if you want to fix that.
As a general rule I remove links for blogs that have been inactive for over one year.

Which is why those presuming to be our leaders had better start advancing core purpose.
As an aside, that smugly grinning self-styled know-it-all in the video is as irritating to watch as she is ignorant, but it is important to note the grabbers are returning to pre-Heller arguments that they gave up on for a while but are now bringing back with a vengeance.

‘Humans are a mistake’: Why more young women are getting sterilized [More]
Reminds me of a scene from Star Trek:
It's best that she doesn't breed. And no, of course she won't be happy.
For reasons of nature and nurture and choice, not everyone is suited for the life they have. Now if there were only some way to keep them from imposing their delusional and sterile misery on the rest of us.
But Terry McAuliffe is a special kind of liar. Not only does he prevaricate about Glenn Youngkin’s policy positions, but he deliberately spreads falsehoods about the severity of Covid-19 in Virginia. [More]
Under SB 554, any school district can vote to make their property an “active killer safe zone” by prohibiting law abiding people from being armed on school property during an attack. This mind numbingly stupid policy is being considered at the same time the politicians and public school establishment are doing their best to eliminate school resource officers. This policy is insane. [More]
True, but indoctrinating students with years of insanity resulted in the "progressive" Oregon of today and is the path forward to the totalitarian Oregon of tomorrow, so that's a small price to pay, wouldn't you agree?
An Excellent Day for Kyle Rittenhouse Defense at Pre-Trial Hearing [More]
I hope he's right about the judge. Not to be Eeyore, but I had a nagging feeling reading the story I linked to yesterday that his questioning was giving the prosecutor clues about weaknesses in his arguments and where he would be better focused in the trial.

The Biden administration is in talks to offer immigrant families that were separated during the Trump administration around $450,000 a person in compensation, according to people familiar with the matter, as several agencies work to resolve lawsuits filed on behalf of parents and children who say the government subjected them to lasting psychological trauma. This is wrong and treasonous on so many levels. For now, I have one question.

Here's an idea that’s hardly ever been tried: What about a principled candidate who believes in the right of the people to keep and bear arms and understands why it is critical to freedom? How about someone not interested in “compromise” and who is committed to not just defending against new attacks, but in advancing gun owner entitlements (that’s what rights are, you know) and in rolling back existing infringements? How about someone who knows what he’s talking about, how to advance the truth, and how to call prohibitionists out on their lies? [More]

On the 25th, this month, I renewed my NRA Instructors creds, for 2 years.
While I was on the site, I tried to make an address and telephone number change.
When I got to that page, I couldn't get the cursor to come up in any of the spaces I wanted to change.
It was like the page was "dead".
Also, when I pulled up the image of my "new" creds, it had the same expiration date of my current creds, 10/30/2021.
I tried doing this on two different days; same result.
I also tried calling the 703-267-1500 number for that division, but got the same recording both times I called.
I left a detailed message, as to the problems, both times I called.
Basically said "There's no one here to take your call", and to leave a message and your number and your call will be returned.
No one has called.
So......is there anybody still working at NRA HQ, or have they all jumped the sinking ship in light of all their legal woes?
If you have insights into this, please share them in "Comments."

Men experiencing sexual dysfunction are no more likely to be gun owners than men who are not experiencing such problems, according to new research published in the American Journal of Men’s Health. The study casts doubt on claims derived from psychoanalytic theory that guns are phallic symbols that serve as unconscious representations of male virility. [More]
Since the media and the socialist democrats have been so successful in never condemning the "gain of function" research, we might do well in naming auto sears, drop in sears and such - " gain of function devices."

Texas Law Spurs Gun-Rights Group to Side With Abortion Providers [More]
On the theory that other issues directly affect the "single issue"...?
Funny... why wouldn't they say a word over all the years they've been around about the greatest threat...?
They can find a nexus with a Texas abortion law, but when it comes to cultural terraforming through weaponized "immigration" nobody over at FPC can see the problem?

In short, our government is spending untold dollars to prop up patriotism in other countries while arming and training their civilians to defend their homelands. Meanwhile, the administration and its agencies, with plenty of media cheerleading, is working all the angles to disarm U.S. civilians and label armed heritage Americans, including survivalists, preppers, and believers in civil defense programs, as terrorists and as racists. That said, things are going to be a challenge over the next few days -- I won't bore you with the details but just say meatspace demands will be higher than normal. And I have several more articles to turn out by month's end.
All I can add to the blog today is an announcement for my latest Firearms News article, coming up next.
Please hold off on loading me up with any more tips?
Fingers crossed. I've tried alternatives and they just don't "work" as well as the majors at promoting links, and they hardly work at all for those of us hooked on "wrong thinking." It would be nice to have a venue that isn't trying to undermine anything they don't approve of.

As an aside, the very headline of this CNN hit piece is a damn lie-- two, actually. Guns don't kill and courts have no legitimate say on birthrights they did not endow.
They want us to write our reps. Mine is an NRA A-rated lump who is not on the committee, so I'm not sure what the point is, but OK, I'll give them a few seconds and hit "Send," even though the Dem majority in the committee means it's a done deal there.
