The sudden turn of events -- Cramer was in the advisory role for less than a week -- occurred after he sent an e-mail shortly after midnight Thursday boasting about his marksmanship skills. Passed by a 68-to-30 Senate vote, an amendment authored by Mississippi Sen. Roger Wicker, mandates that Amtrak allow passengers to carry handguns in their checked baggage. [More]

Amtrak's Chairman of the Board Thomas C. Carper and Dick Durbin (D, Mordor), felt the need to conduct a public panty-wetting, to which Bruce Krafft responds:

Okay, so what AmTrack and Dick are saying is that passengers' checked baggage is subject to being "lost, damaged, stolen or misused"? You can't have it both ways boys, if your baggage security is inadequate then knowingly operating a system where your customers' personal possessions, that they have entrusted to your care, are subject to rifling by your employees?

This doesn't even address the other security issue, that if you can't safeguard checked guns, how can you keep out checked *bombs*?

The answer, of course, is all they're really capable of doing is harassing those inclined to obey the laws.

A jury in Prince George's County on Monday awarded $261,000 to a woman who said she was pepper-sprayed and punched by sheriff's deputies after they forced their way into her Greenbelt apartment to serve an arrest warrant on a man who was not there. [More]

I love how the "Only Ones" always charge the victims of their brutality with "assaulting a police officer."

I think if I were on a jury, I might be inclined not to believe it just based on an anecdotal preponderance of evidence...

But here's the real central point of this story:

The jury determined that the two deputies violated Kimberly Jones's constitutional rights, even though they followed sheriff's department protocol...The sheriff's department's training and procedures are such that if you follow them, you will violate the rights of citizens."

Again with "protocol." If it's officially sanctioned, but against the supreme law of the land, that is, illegal, doesn't that make it a conspiracy to deny a citizen their rights under color of authority?

Former Holland Police Chief Kevin P. Gleason was sentenced to two years in prison yesterday after pleading guilty to charges he pocketed money from 16 town-bought guns and rifles he sold, many to police officers in other communities.

Mr. Gleason, 47, also admitted taking $2,190 from an evidence locker to which only he had access. The money had been seized in a drug arrest. [More]

When Major General Burgoyne and his men reached Albany in September, they found the city protected by 7,000 Patriots under Major General Horatio Gates. Because the Patriots had used the land to their advantage, they decided to sit and let the British make their move. There were some minor assaults, but finally on September 19, 1777, Major General Burgoyne and his troops attacked the Patriots at Freeman's Farm. I have mixed feelings about this one. Overbearing noise can be a form of intrusion. As can objections to any noise. I guess I need to learn more about the actual circumstances before concluding the neighbors are just a bunch of whiny antis...

One thing I don't have mixed feelings on is the right of all of us to engage in paramilitary training--and not have to disguise it as recreation. If we have the appropriate facilities for it and are not infringing on the rights of surrounding property owners, the hell with anybody who disapproves.

We're the Only Ones Diverted Enough

Carr acknowledged being detained by federal and local authorities at Newark Liberty International Airport after they found a .38 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun stowed in luggage...

Right. You and I get busted with an unlicensed gun at a Jersey airport and I'm sure they'd do as much for us. No "Only One" double-standard here.

And heres' something else you'd think somebody would have picked up on:

The Smith & Wesson found in the luggage, he said, belongs to his wife.

"I wasn't about to let her take the fall for it," he said.

Did this "law director" just admit he lied to a law enforcement investigation? Don't most people do time in the slammer for that?

Oh, and look what group his boss belongs to--our old pals Mayors Against (Your) Guns:

Think he'd be concerned if this happened to one of his constituents as opposed to one of his henchmen? If "authorities" threw the book at a hapless citizen, do you think he'd agree they were "overzealous"?

I guess these arrogant hypocrites think they'll be able to get away with the double standards forever. I wonder if they'll be astonished on the day they find they can't?

Again, per JHU, aside from taking a course in self defense (Annie Le reportedly weighed 90 lbs.) and carrying a whistle, here's one thing we must never do:

"Resist a rapist or robber at the cost of endangering your own life."

They're serious. They think we should let animals violate human beings in the most violent and degrading way possible, and we should submit like sheep--and trust that placing ourselves under the complete physical domination of a twisted and depraved monster is the best way to minimize risk.
